The location
The bed's mattress was too hard for me
Mid town great location
Great location. Nice lounges. Rooms ok didn't eat there's. Great parkiNo voucher for 31 52nd St garage
Noisy party on our floor 9
It's a great little place. Quiet, comfortable rooms and in a great location.
I would have loved it if the coffee set-up in the room produced a little better cup of coffee.
It's not your cookie cutter hotel. It's charming and the staff are friendly and inviting.
The hotel has signs and pamphlets talking about how it is part of The Women's National Republican Club. This was strange for about three seconds, then you get over it and appreciate how beautiful the hotel is and how excellent the location is.
Fantastic location but no lights?! $15 to hail a c
The Location near 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's Cathedral is ideal. Easy walk to all 3 of those. Bed was comfortable and despite being so close to the holiday hub of NYC, the room was very quiet with barely any noise from the street. Free wi-fi was also a nice plus.
There were a total of 5 lights in the room: 3 desk lamps and the 2 lights in the bathroom. Literally, only ONE of those 5 lights did not give us a problem. All 3 desk lamps either did not turn on or flickered at some point when they were on. And the bathroom light inexplicably went out at one point. Very annoying. And when we mentioned this to the hotel desk upon check out, they merely said "we'll look it into." No apology nor thank you for telling us, let alone any compensation on the bill for the inconvenience. And even though taxis are plentiful, the the hotel would only hail one for a $15 fee on top of the cab fare we'd have to pay. Needless to say, we walked over the 5th Avenue and hailed our own, but still outlandish for them to charge that much to pick up the telephone.
Excellent Experience
The Hotel + room was somewhat old fashion, but in a cool way. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was absolutely perfect. Right near 5th Ave; Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock); Radio City Music Hall; and the Live NBC Today show. Only a 10 minute walk to Times Square one direction and the Park in the other. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any directions to NY locations. We were also happy to find out that we COULD get wifi in our room, as they were adding it to some rooms. Your choice of Hotels can "make or break" a holiday. The 3 West Club Hotel definitely MADE our holiday.
Terrific location, uptight customers
The location is very central and close to everything, in front ot the Rockefeller center and Radio City Music Hall, two blocks from the MoMA. The room was small but clean and very well taken care of. The furniture gives the flavor of the "old New York", definitely an experience by itself
The hotel turned out to permanently host the Women's National Republican Club. There is a dress code in some areas, and the hotel is generally populated of uptight snobbish guests, which may induce an uncomfortable feeling in someone. Bottom line, if you are looking for a relaxed family hotel, this is NOT the right choice. Also, no wifi in the room, you will be provided an ethernet cable at the reception if you ask.
Clean and basic for a decent price
The location in the center of Midtown was convenient both to Central Park as well as shopping and dining.
Although I had no hint of this when booking the hotel, 3 West Club is actually the "National Republican Women's Club". Literature in the rooms states their intent to support the ideals of the Republican Party. An extensive rule book in the room lets ladies know that it's ok to wear pantsuits (how progressive of them!) and that men should be in a jacket in public areas. I felt like I had been tricked into financially supporting political ideas as musty and old fashioned as the decor of this hotel.
Featuring a ballroom, a business centre and a 24-hour reception, 3 West Club is just a five-minute walk from Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall and The Museum of Modern Art. The various facilities this historic hotel offers include luggage storage, meeting rooms and free Wi-Fi.
Equipped to ensure a comfortable stay, rooms at 3 West Club have tea and coffee making facilities, a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV. All offer a telephone and ironing facilities.
The hotel has its own on-site restaurant, perfect for those who prefer to eat in. Alternatively, there are a variety of cafés and restaurants within a short walk.
3 West Club is within walking distance of New York Public Library, Bryant Park and Times Square. It is within a 20-minute stroll of Times Square 42nd Street New York City Subway and Grand Central Terminal, which allows easy access in and around New York City.
