I loved everything from start to finish.
The location is ideal for anyone wanting to be right in the centre next to all the shops and Central Park. It’s modern with quirky art all over the hotel The rooms are spacious with lovely bathrooms
Beautiful decoration in the rooms. The bar and restaurant were fantastic for both after-work drinks and breakfasts. The bathrooms were top quality (particularly in the restaurant!). Although you're minutes from Central Park and other major attractions, the hotel feels like a world away. So quiet and peaceful!
Accessing the wifi could have been easier. It wasn't made clear from the check-in process or room information how we were supposed to access it. The climate controls in the rooms were also a little fussy. It was very difficult to adjust the thermostat.
I really enjoyed the clean feeling it had. I loved how professional and upscale the staff behaved. I liked the unique decor.
There was a nasty “farm” smell In the hallways and our room / bathroom. I know it’s a plumbing issue, though for the price we are paying per night ..... No smell please. The lobby smells great. The bathroom is big with a horrible layout. They really needed to put the toilet in it’s own little room and separate it from the bathtub. Terrible Layout.
It was a beautiful property. High comfort and a feeling of being somewhere special. The staff are friendly and gracious. They cannot do enough to help. Food was exceptional.
No views from the windows but it’s still light and bright. Everything else makes up for it.
The Whitby Hotel is a must-stay for those who have an eye for and an interest in contemporary art and design detail. This hotel is located in the center of upper midtown Manhattan. It’s a tribute to arts and culture.
The Whitby Hotel consists of 86 rooms and suites. It has 16 floors and was decorated by Kit Kemp, who has been recognized for her contemporary English style design. The rooms all have windows that go from the floor to the ceiling. There are individual color themes in all of the rooms that are bold and beautiful. All of the bathrooms feature granite or marble countertops, double sinks, and a walk-in shower. The suites all have a separate bath.
Guests can dine at The Whitby Bar & Restaurant. It’s open all day, every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also serves a wonderful, traditional Afternoon Tea throughout the day. Cocktails can be found at The Crosby Bar and The Whitby Bar as well. There are no shortage of restaurants in the surrounding area that are very easy to get to. The location of the hotel makes it easy for guests to walk or take a quick ride to anywhere they would like to go.
The Whitby Hotel is a stone’s throw from the iconic Central Park. Visitors can spend the day walking through this massive famed park for a refreshing day outside. There are also designer shops, lots of galleries or museums to visit, and Broadway only short walks away. The hotel boasts its own cinema that can seat 130 people, and a full gym.
There aren’t many hotels with better locations than this one. This is a true gem in the middle of Manhattan. The Whitby Hotel puts guests in the middle of all the energy that the great city of New York has to offer.
