There were many things we loved about this hotel! Located in the heart of Old Montreal, it is surrounded by amazing shopping, restaurants and architecture. The hotel also offers many wonderful amenities (restaurants, spa, coffee shop, gym, etc, trendy rooftop bar in the warmer months) which we were fortunate to experience. We loved the stylish design of the hotel and our room was very spacious with a nice view!
Unfortunately the cleanliness of our room was not what we expected. For example, the drinking glasses were dirty (one had dust stuck along the rim), mirrors had smudges, some surfaces were a little dusty, the safe was broken. The staff were not the friendliest, but we would still try this hotel again!
Gorgeous hotel, fabulous staff and atmosphere, amazing design, absolutely brilliant shower and bed. Didn't have time for the spa sadly, but did very much enjoy the food in Maggie Oakes.
Just wish we had more time to enjoy it all! Definitely pricey, but probably fair for the excellent quality.
Every single engagement with the staff was warm and welcoming. They work together to give you a sense that they are here to help the best they can and it does make that special difference. The location and building itself is incredible and you are above one of the best coffee shops in the city.
The facilities, staff and location were exceptional. Front desk and valet (Michael) were top shelf.
Housekeeping quality within the rooms was terrible. Room not cleaned properly, not enough towels and we had to clean the bathroom after it had just been cleaned.
Location and room good.
It presents as a boutique hotel but it's a conference hotel really. Dinner crowded, service slow. Long wait for just a continental breakfast as no buffet.
Hotel William Gray is located in the heart of old Montreal. It is a perfect balance between modern design and historic architecture, full of local artwork, light, carefully curated furnishings, and stunning views of Montreal from rooftop decks. The Living Room is at the epicenter of the action: with a full bar, library, pool table, and vinyl collection, making it a gravitational point for the creative set.
Originally built in 1785, the northern part served as both a warehouse and shops for the auction of goods, while the southern part served as a residence. The two buildings are the only living examples of an 18th-century property that combines residence and work, which was common at the time. Since 1873, the buildings have been used for a variety of things, including a printer, shops, stable, restaurant, and brasserie. After a fire in March 1968, the owner restored the two buildings back to their original appearance, and it was classified as a historic monument in 1969.
With a plethora of thoughtful services and amenities to provide an elevated guest experience with amazing restaurants, lively Living Room, rooftop terraces, a luxury spa with an array of signature treatments and a thermal circuit, a green courtyard for lounging, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and abundant meeting space for small and large events.
Views overlooking Place Jacques Cartier in Old Montreal, Montreal Hotels Hotel William Gray is surrounded by restaurants and shops, and is within steps of Montreal’s most cherished attractions, to include the Old Port and the Notre-Dame Basilica.
