It’s very near kings cross and it’s cheap/reasonably priced for what it is.
Staff said couldn’t get a twin room, unless I paid 50£. Then I was put in a triple room (okay). But right next to the street and with glass on the door. Result: no sleep because of corridor light and street noise. Wouldn’t it be simpler to say: here, we have this; would that be okay? I would have said no. Prefer the double quiet room than this. Poor communication Killed the experience.
The windows didn't close properly, so the room was extremely drafty and noisy (winter stay, 1st floor room). The walls were in poor condition, and there were traces of leaks from upper floors. The furniture is very cheap and unappealing. There is no door between the room and bathroom (only a sliding panel that didn't fit). There was no hair drier, and the kettle couldn't actually be plugged anywhere (power cable too short - I had to put it on the bed to boil water).
location and price
cleanliness and facilities
- relatively quiet - cordial staff - relatively clean - good location, felt safe and comfortable
- hot water system unreliable (couldn't shower properly) is what made me frustrated with the entire experience; otherwise, I would have been pleased with my stay - slight moldy (unpleasant) smell
Very cheap and in a good location, you couldn’t get a room with a private bathroom for that price. Shower was very good
It was sooooooo hot! Literally like an oven. We slept with the window open (in February) and it was still too hot in the room. Bed was small even for a double.
