Location, very helpfull staff, good price.
Too small bed and room for 2 person.
Perfect location, just a few minutes from Queensway tube station (central line) and Bayswater (circle line) so it's easy to get everywhere. Kensington gardens is across the road, which is a really nice place to walk around. The guesthouse has shared bathrooms but it wasn't a problem as there was never anybody using the bathroom when I needed. The price is very good value for money considering the location and that you can pick the breakfast option. Breakfast was a small full english (1 hashbrown, few beans, 1 egg, bacon). But there is also toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, tea and coffee so it's enough!
The carpets need to be cleaned, there was a sour smell on the second floor (like pickled onions).
Helpful stuff and Good breakfast
Toilet and shower in the corridor
Everything. Great breakfast
I was travelling with my mom and we both agreed this was a great place to stay! Excellent location, a charming old building just opposite to Kensington Gardens, close to metro and 15 minute walk from Paddington station. The breakfast was better than we anticipated, there was a buffet with toast, cereals, fruit etc., but also full English served to the table! There is a small but beautiful patio garden besides the breakfast room, so you can also eat outside, if the British weather permits. We had a double room with shared bathroom and toilet in a tranquil corner. Everything was perfectly clean, and apparently they were also taking care of the place with little renovations. Since there are toilets and showers in every floor, there were not too many people wanting to use the same. There was a mirror and a very efficient hairdryer in the room, so one can finalize there instead of the shared bathroom. All the staff members where friendly and very helpful. First day we arrived a bit early, I had mentioned it in advance to make sure they can store our luggage - and was positively surprised they could even arrange us the room! Perfect, as we were exhausted with the heat wave. Totally recommend this place - perfect value for the price!
Our only problem was that it was unusually hot weather when we came, and as it is an old building, there was no cooling system except keeping curtains closed and a table fan on. However, with that and opening the window for night we managed to cool it down. The room we had was not very big and the building has some quite challenging staircases - you may want to consider these and consult the staff before booking, if you have moving disabilities. They also had some room(s?) in the ground floor.
The 72QT is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. With Paddington Station just 2km away and London City Airport only 19km away, transportation is very convenient. Transportation around the city is also convenient, with Queensway Metro Station within walking distance. Famous attractions Russell Square and King's Cross Railway Station are just a short taxi ride away. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel.
