7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location, convenient and a no nonsense simple stay. Good value.
Cons: There could have been a bit more coffee in the morning indeed. There was only one single kettle full.
7.0 Good
Pros: No breakfast. Location good, just a short walk to Fubatake.
Cons: I depend on public transport and the journey to Kusatsu from Ikaho Onsen is very difficult and long.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to all area
Cons: Hope there is a japanese yukata for rent
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was super close to the town center (Yubatake). One staff member spoke English fluently and provided me with various English maps and guides of the area as well as his recommended points of interest. Snacks and a drink were graciously provided upon check-in and free coffee was available in the morning. The room was spacious and warm. Yukata pajamas, a hair dryer, toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hot water kettle, tea and coffee, and an electric blanket were some of the provided ammenities, just to name a few. There was also a fridge and TV. Outlets were in very convenient places.
Cons: I was completely satisfied with my experience but one thing that bothered me was the use of shared slippers. I’m fine with taking off my shoes in the entryway but I didn’t like borrowing and returning slippers each time I went in and out. I guess I could’ve just walked around in my socks to avoid this, but I would have preferred each guest having their own (unique?) slippers.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Love the breakfast with smoothie. Parking space. Closes to I send.
Cons: Pillow was a bit small

6.0 Good
Pros: It's acceptably clean and spacious for single or 2 travelers.
Cons: It's located in the local neighborhood which is not within the main attraction area of Kusatsu. A house converted accommodation for travelers, thus only one bathroom is available. Similar to other Japanese traditional houses, noise insulation is poor, thus, take note if you are a light sleeper. You can hear every footsteps, chatting and toilet flushing at night. As it is a family run business (I guess), payment can only be made in cash.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: • Good location. • Very clean and tidy. • Lockers to store valuables. • Staff provided good guidance on the best hot springs and sights in the town. • Heaters in the rooms to keep you warm and toasty in winter.

Cons: A two class society hotel (main building "3 stars" / maybe tower building "5 stars") Room: 1) the bathroom got no new facility "make-up" 2) the room comfort was bad (no carpet, no bedside table, no clock) 3) hairdryer and cosmetics are outside from bathroom, sometimes no refill 4) only coffee mugs, no drinking glass Hotel: 1) no multi language hotel, informations are not written in english 2) Buffet was sufficient but not very tasty and every day the same one 3) Pool is only open at "holiday season" also closed when outside 30°C

7.1 Good
Pros: The room was pretty large and had a view of the town centre. The onsen was truly authentic which was the highlight of our stay. The internet WiFi connection was reasonably stable. Staff spoke decent English.
Cons: The dinner and breakfast were quite sad in terms of taste, although a wide variety of cuisine was offered. The hotel could have asked us before our stay if we would like to be picked up from the bus terminal (we found out that they provide shuttle service) or if we are interested to watch the traditional performance (tickets required). The room was uncomfortably warm despite the low temperature outside and the heater was not turned on.

Pros: Everything else is perfect! THEY SPEAK ENGLISH! Location of hotel, very friendly staff, clean, nice onsen,....
Cons: Location of the room: if you're not in the main building, be ready to remember the way to your room. They explain it very good, but I had to take 3 different elevators and use access ways...
