Urban Villa Konaya Hotel - Kōfu - Bedroom

8.4 Excellent (133 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at URBAN VILLA KONAYA HOTEL in Kofu, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Maizuru Castle and Enzan Onsen. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere (Japanese, Thai and French, event the clocks, see the photo!), onsen, meals. Especially staff kindness. They could change my room (which was a smoking room, a lot of tobacco smell, but I am badly allergic) right away despite the hotel was full.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice!! Hot spring and breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff -- they make you feel as you're a very special person. They learn quickly and pay attention to your needs, all with great respect. I was staying there a few times already. Good breakfast.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Lobby area
Cons: I think they put all the money into renovating the lobby area. The upper floor (7th floor) was dated. The beds and room facilities were ok but it is the noise that ruined our stay here. We got a room that was facing the police office. We could hear ALL the sirens and cars during the night so we didn't have a good sleep. It was like sleeping with an open window but it was closed! The staff hardly speaks any English.
7.1 Good
Pros: Spacious entrance. Pleasant staff. Excellent breakfast .Reasonable walk from station,
Cons: From pictures expected a garden. Very dark decor. Bedroom furniture was marked & stained . Windowsill paint was chipped. Room felt in need of an upgrade,
7.1 Good
Pros: Entrance, lobby and foyer were quite impressive and inviting
Cons: Room was a little tired. Some walls with ripped wall paper.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely lobby, and very nice onsen
Cons: Staff are never to friendly, but they take care of you... perfunctorily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel design is charming (Thai style), quiet, staff is wonderful taking attention to all details, food is delicious (3 choices for breakfast!) and there is even a Japanese spa (onsen) for free. Feel is like is an East Asian ressort.
Yanagiya - Kōfu - Building
2
8.4 Excellent (107 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Yanagiya in Kofu, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Maizuru Castle and Entakuji Temple. This 4-star ryokan is 11.1 mi (17.8 km) from Hottarakashi Onsen Hot Spring and 1.5 mi (2.5 km) from Hosen-ji Temple.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel staff are nice and very helpfully. But they speak very little English. Communication was difficult.
Cons: Room is too small for a family of four. The dining area is just like a school canteen without any privacy at all. Especially when we had our breakfast, there was a tour group of some 25 people from China seating next to you. It was noisy and messy.
7.5 Good
Cons: I stayed 2 night 1st day many people stayed 1st day dinner is relatively poor but 2nd day is good Hotel' s manager and reception are very kind always
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very comfortable. The dinner included was also fabulous. I love the little garden.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely view of the immaculate garden from the room and great outdoor onsen
Cons: Musky smell in the room probably due to dampness and tatami. Quite far from Kofu station (20 mins bus ride) so quite inconvenient traveling with heavy luggage. Would be fine if driving.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is relatively close to Shosenkyo Gorge - we made the drive in about 20 minutes. The staff is incredibly gratitude and courteous! At 8:00 PM, the lobby area turns into a lounge for karaoke and serves spirits and beer, which we really liked. The breakfast is worth the ¥1000 yen - it included regional hoto udon, rice, salmon, tofu, fruit, and vegetables! Onsens are clean and relaxing - ryokan has indoor and outdoor for female, as well as males,....and they switch sides daily so that each get use of the hotter sauna. Food is provided on the lanai to feed the koi fish in the garden pond. Ryokan has ample, free parking.
Cons: Interior is dated, but we commonly find this for older, traditional ryokans. If you want one that is pristine, then go to a modern ryokan that is pricier. Garden pond is murky, much unlike the clear water we typically encounter for koi ponds. The fish and turtles don’t seem to care, though. The garden was also a little unkempt for Japanese standards. You’ll need to take a cab from Kofu Station since it is a bit of a distance, but we drove so not an issue for us.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at BACCHUS Kofu Guest House - Hostel in Kofu, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Maizuru Castle and Enzan Onsen.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were very helpful spoke English very well. They recommended us an excellent Ramen place for dinner! Our tatami room had it‘s own shower/toilet, which was nice. They were very bike friendly and allowed us to take our bicycles into the hostel.
Cons: The kitchen was small and not very inviting. Could do with some new furniture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bathroom in the room. Clean and quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Bacchus made me feel more welcome than I could have ever expected. My Japanese at this point is at what I've heard called "survival" level, and the staff here spoke excellent English and were able to guide me to sight-seeing and restaurants in the area. An easy walk from Kofu station, Bacchus is 5 minutes from wherever you could possibly want to be. But, why would you want to leave? I spent a half-hour walking around looking for breakfast, finally settling on some prepackaged food from the Lawson's by the station, and when I walked back to the hostel the staff there invited me to join them for a traditional Japanese breakfast, the whole works: rice, miso, natto (yum!), eggs, and for my vegetarian/pescatarian self, some stir-fried octopus and mushrooms. I've never been treated with such hospitality at -any- establishment before, and it's something I'll remember for a long time. The bar at the hostel, open after 18:00, is probably the cheapest you'll find, and it's frequented by local Japanese who will happily and cheerfully drink, smoke, and speak Japanese with you. I plan on directing my friends to Bacchus when they come to visit Kofu, and I'll be back there just to drink with the friends I made. Thank you so much to the staff at Bacchus. - Kyle
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is my first time to use Bacchus guesthouse. Room was really simple, clean and well-organized. Also, the staff was really kind and told me where to sightsee. There are many facilities here. The thing I like most is free coffee in common space. I was able to talk to other customers there. Totally satisfied!!
Cons: Nothing particular.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good hostel. The female dorm was excellent. The bathroom was inside the dorm. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and speak English fluently. They were very helpful. Excellent service. I had a pleasant time staying at Kofu.
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff was so kind me.
Cons: Bathroom is little and not comfortable.
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean simple private rooms, there is nothing to complain about.
Cons: Room did not have appropriate shades. It is getting bright very early in the morning and the city is also not the darkest. So who likes it dark for a good sleep,... maybe not the perfect place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice little hostel not far from the central station. Very uncomplicated check-in, clean room and very friendly stuff=) You can drink tea and coffee for free in the lobby=)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location - within 10 minute walking distance of Kofu station. The bed was comfortable, bar downstairs also pretty good. Staff friendly, communal room downstairs also had a pellet fireplace (excellent in the cold), and cooking facilities which was pretty good.
Cons: Curtains didn't cover all of the bed - most hostels similar to this one I've stayed in do so I maybe expected a little too much, but they didn't provide the best coverage.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and everything is super clean. Very quiet hotel, comfortable to have some rest.
Cons: Not many things but the location isn't the best. If you don't have a car, it can be hard to access.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very comfortable and the room was quiet spacious for two. It even had a sofa, which we sat on while eating. The staff didn't really speak English so the communication was a little bit difficult, but they were very nice and willing to help (with translating devices).
Cons: The day we were there was raining, and the map got us detoured, so that made it difficult to find the way, but it is in fact really easy to find the way. Since it requires bus to travel from JR station to the accommodation, I won't recommend travellers with massive suitcases, as it could be tough to carry them on and off the buses, as it is still a bit of a walk from the bus station, which would be made much easier without heavy luggages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were sooo friendly and speaks english! The rooms are very clean. And the breakfast was great!
Cons: None!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were big and comfortable. Clean and tidy and Cafeteria was too excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean and tidy rooms. Staff was very much attentive and finally the Breakfast.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Located next to the Kofu castle the hotel is not in the immediate vicinity of the railway station so if you are carrying some luggage you have to walk a bit to reach it. There's a shopping mall with an arcade next to hotel and lots of bars very close by if you are into some beer drinking.
Cons: The bar area in the hotel was located right below our room and voices or partying people could be heard in the room at later night. However, partying stopped at some point before we actually went to sleep so it was not so big problem.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is perfect for traveling and the staff is very friendly and helpful, clean, basic but had everything needed.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was excellent. The staffs there were so well trained, it was impressive! The room was big and comfortable.
Cons: The whole place was dated and needing some major renovations (new wall paper, carpet, etc.) The WiFi router they rented didn’t work. It was great to have a natural hot spring bath, but it was small and old.
6.7 Good
Pros: quiet rooms
Cons: The hotspring is very dirty with floating dirt in dark colour in water. Old and worn out hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a cozy and stylish hotel with a history of more than 100 years. Quite amazing! Receptionists are warm hearted to guests and ready to help. There is a free hot spring for everyone living there to enjoy and relax. The room is big, not like those counterparts in major Japanese cities like Tokyo. It is about 10 minutes' walk to the ruins of a famous castle in Japanese Senkoku history-- the Koufu Jo.
Cons: Nothing at all.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location. Lots of restaurant and izakayas close by. My room was large and had a small sofa.
Cons: ------
5.8 Okay
Pros: Only for its name, which is quite romantic by nomenclature. Staff are good, polite.
Cons: The place is outdated and old. Facilities are not well maintained. It is definitely overpriced. The location is remote and quiet. Hard to find an ideal place to dine late after a long day of sightseeing tour.
6.3 Good
Pros: staff is friendly
Cons: hotel is a little run down. we had a corner room (for 3 pax) but the aircon does not keep the whole room cold.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location smack in the middle of places of interest, food & shopping
Cons: Onsen water dirty

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, nice onsen
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good and clean room. The room/ breakfast is basic, worth for your paid. Also the hotel has onsen/ hot spring in the hotel (love it).
Cons: The location may a bit far from Kofu St. The staff is not good in English but they are willing to help you everything. (Try to explain as they can).
7.1 Good
Pros: The price! It is unbeatable value. The free breakfast was amazing. Good selection of fish, meat and the usual bread and rice. Free onsen for guests to use. The room itself was surprising larger than most.
Cons: The room was very dim. The carpet was grimy. The toilet bowl was absolutely tiny. Will not fit men taller than 1.7m. The water pressure was non existent. The furnishings were very dated. The hotel is located right next to a fly-over. I drove right pass it as the GPS located it right next to the road. I had to take 15min to U turn back. It is a little away from the town area.

Pros: Onsen and location
Cons: None.

5.0 Okay
Pros: It was cheap and in a pretty good location. The staff were super friendly.
Cons: The actual hotel looks older than the pictures make it seem. The key system is legit a massive key and not a keycard. The bed was suuuuuuper hard. I know I complain a lot, but for the price it was just ok. The staff were super nice so it was just the oldness of the place that kind of ruined it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just what we needed for this stay
7.1 Good
Pros: Larger room than normal Japanese room.
Cons: A bit far from station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. I and my boyfriend later went to Matsudo for two other nights but we kept missing the comfort and luxury of Sentia Hotel. SENTIA HOTEL IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE!

Cons: Not much. It's as advertised.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfy room
Cons: It's a bit hard to get places from the hotel but that's more a problem with local transportation in general.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was fine, had full facilities, and was quiet, as I’d requested. Although not fluent in English (still better than my Japanese), the staff were very helpful and we managed concepts like “More towels, please?” and “Where is there a Post Office?” Definitely recommend.
Cons: Hotel way further from the station than I’d expected, but easy enough to locate anyway. Would have liked to be able to control the air con myself, but room not too warm, as is often the case.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like all.
Cons: There was nothing bad,all perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Their hot spring was my favorite. Very nice indoor/outdoor hotspring! I believe on a clear day you could even see Mt.Fuji (According to a picture they had on the wall). Bed was comfortable and the shower with the massage mode was really good! The hotel was also very easy to find, which was just one straight road from the train station. (Make sure to let the staff know if you have a tattoo. They gave a patch to my boyfriend for him to cover up his small tattoo lol)
Cons: I think the breakfast was a little bit on the expensive side. I was hoping they would have even more selection.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location near train station and city center
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Onsen is incredible
Cons: Nothing really ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love staying in this Dormy Inn. Has an excellent sized room, very nice hot spring on the 9F with a free beer for all staying at the hotel. Some free nighttime noodles as well were awesome, along with an excellent insanely huge range for breakfast.
Cons: Sometimes the water in the hot spring was a bit chemically, more like a swimming pool than a hot spring.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel.
Cons: Bit of a walk from the Station but not bad, easy to find. However, the intersection before the hotel has steps and a walkway over the traffic.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: No breakfast as it was way too expensive Pillows were too hard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff Ms Reina was very helpful & speak good english. Free beer/juice & raimen in the evening was an extra perk. Location near to kofu station.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Onsen (public bath) on the top floor/roof was very enjoyable. Staff very helpful.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast buffet was decent, I could not fault the staff. The checking in/out processes were very quick.
Cons: Parking situation is awful. The first thing we noticed in our room was that the door was broken - I don’t understand how the staff haven’t noticed that. Also, there was no view at all from our room. Location rather dull.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I left behind an expensive adapter and managed to get it back. Although their policy says they will dispose of left-behind items the same day at 5pm, I was able to call the next day and they were kind enough to mail it to me. The free late night soba is also a fun treat!
Cons: The 10th floor bathroom was lovely except for the fact that it is grossly undersized. I had to wait 10 minutes just for a locker to free up, and then I had to I wait in line for 15 minutes just to shower in order to enter the hot spring. The facility should be larger for the size of the hotel. I recommend avoiding going around ~10pm. It was quiet at 8:30am though.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, helpful staff, nice onsen, easy to rich by walk from central station, lots of restaurants around, quite place. Good for 1-2 nights. Good breakfast.
Cons: Too firm bed (I like firm, but this was really not the best one). We were during Golden week, when all Japan have vacation, so it was a little bit crowded in onsen and on the breakfast, as expected.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. The room was well equipped and the free shuttle to the station was a bonus.
Cons: Pillows were a bit hard but that's personal preference.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff are pleasant and extremely helpful and the breakfast buffet is very good value. The bath on the roof of the hotel is a special treat.
Cons: Some of the fixtures in the room could do with being replaced and there could be a bit more signage in English.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was as expected, really nice view from the roof top spa area! Room comfortably and nice! Bus and train was nearby. Restaurants and bars also nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are visited Kofu five times and we’ve always stayed at this hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. They were friendly, efficient and remembered me when I came back to stay again. The Onsen on the 10th floor has an inside pool and an outside pool. The temperature is set at a toasty but comfortable 42 degrees. It was great. NB no tattoos allowed. The weather was fine and the skies were clear so I could see Mt Fuji from my window.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: In hotel parking was convenient, Breakfast was great value, so do not baulk at the Y1500, although coming off 3 days of little sleep it meant getting up earlier than I would have liked to make the cut off time. The onsen on the roof was a great bonus. A universal device charger was awesome as I forgot mine
Cons: A gym would have been nice, but no biggie, A later breakfast time would have been great in my situation, even just 30 minutes more. The amenities were good enough but as I was tired I chose to snack in my room and there were no side plates or cutlery to speak of. No problem, it just would have helped with the cheese and bickies.

7.5 Good
Cons: The english of the staff, was not very well.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, clean, in a great spot
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very convenient that breakfast is included. Pastry, boiled eggs, coffee and juice sufficient for starting the day. 5 min. walk from Kofu Station. Very helpful staff at the reception.
Cons: Ineffective climate control. Very warm although the outside temperature was only about 20 degrees Celsius. Small room size. Bit too small for two persons.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great clean comfortable
Cons: nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: The price and a nice staff
Cons: There so much stain like blood or white thing in the foam of the bed. And the smell i also dont like it.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Staff had little English but polite.
Cons: There was no air conditioning , I had to open windows to keep cool, pillow was a strange combination of some "beads" with foam (?) noise from streets came through when I had windows opened, hard to locate as English signage was only in front of building unlike of the the other hotels in the area. Not impressed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good Location, 15 mins walk to trainstation Kofu. Quiet and a friendly staff.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel is simple and effective. You find everything you need, relatively clean, relatively quiet... The staff is not as friendly as expected in Japan, but helpful. I liked the approach of the hotel to act environmentally friendly: The guest get a bonus card (for shopping in the nearby convini) for not using cosmetic items is just one element of it. The guest can choose, if the room needs to be cleaned - a good way to reduce washing from too many sheets and towels (less waste of other ressources on both sides). The free breakfast with coffee, soup, an onsen tamago (boiled egg in a special "Japanese" way), small pices of bread in different styles and juice is a good start in the day for everybody. At 6.30 a.m. you will have breakfast with a lot of male workers (which are probably fare away from home), but later you will see some women and travel groups (no kids during my stay).
Cons: The staff at the reception could be "warmer". They can learn from the cleaning lady at the 6th floor, who gave me always a friendly smile ...
