Pros: Asian hospitality at its finest. Staff was very courteous and efficient. Concierge was quite helpful, recommending tours we could take, places we could visit, booking transfers. Breakfast at Signatures was also pleasant albeit somewhat chaotic due mainly to its popularity among hotel guests and locals alike. I would've wanted it to have more real estate so it doesnt feel too cramped. Food was an interesting mix of both local and continental cuisine. Staff was also efficient and hospitable.

Cons: Stain in on one of pillow cover, though small still annoying. The services could be improved, i asked for a baby chair in the room they said they will look for it but i didnt get any update until checkout time. Call the inroom dining service asked for a simple porridge not the one on their menu, they said it takes too long to cook from a sratch.

Cons: Bottom 3 things: 1. I don’t necessarily think that this is just limited to Kempinski Jakarta, but staff performance seems to be an issue. Examples: - the lady who checked us in gave us wrong key cards that do not access the lounge, and new cards were sent along with our bags. - asked a few basic questions about whether the shops would be closed for Eid, and she couldn’t answer - when checking out, reception and concierge were not communicating effectively (or at all) resulting in hubs and me being in the wrong taxi (we had to get out, get our bags out, and then wait for the right kind of taxi to come, which I insisted on because I had charged the price of a silver bird taxi to the room). 2. The only to give personalised service was Gita from the club lounge. She was excellent. The rest were functional, but that’s not what you come to expect from a Kempinski hotel. 3. Twice I’ve had people getting in the lift and they don’t have key cards and are not staying at the hotel. I’ve had to tell them that my card goes to my room floor only, and that they need to register with reception. Despite having a security “presence” with the screening at entrances, it seems like security is not quite on the ball. The first 2 are more first world problems admittedly. But guests pay premium to avoid situations like these. We’ve got 2 more stays at Kempinski hotels in the coming weeks - Bali and Bangkok - and I’m hoping the experience will be more like the excellent one we had at Kempinski Singapore which was truly reflecting its class and values.

Cons: If I had to pick my least favourite bit, it would have to be the sorry looking throw pillows in front of the reception desk. It looks like its seen better days. Also, we had to wait a couple of minutes before a table was available at Signatures for Sunday breakfast. No biggie, I just remember thinking it would've been good to open an extension for the hotel guests so they didnt have to wait around.

Cons: The room I was checked in at the first time, again it had the irritating smell that made me felt hard to breath and my lungs were burning, but as soon as I walked out of the room, I didn't feel any pain at my chest. I started to worry at one point that I might have lung problem, since I experienced the same problem previous night at an airport hotel upon landing. So I talked to the front desk and they gave me another room at different floor, there was no those smells and I didn't feel any uncomfortable. Later on the front desk told me that some nearby rooms were under renovation, it might be caused by the paint, they claimed they were not noticed of the renovation.

Pros: The room is so specious and clean.. I love the great team who are working in the property. ALL OF THE THEM. I had a little tiny issue at the room. After a while, I found Ms. Shendy Pratama (Reception Manager) knocking my room to express the management apologies for any inconvenience. Honestly I was so surprised because the case was nothing deserved all this. The love story on this hotel is the restaurant in the ground floor.... I need to cancel all my reservations with outside restaurants to enjoy the open buffet in the hotel...each night I was at the open buffet. The food and the varieties are really amazing. And before I leave, Ms. Rani (receptionist) Came to our room and afforded us a complimentary chocolate cake. Mandarin Oriental Group must be so proud of their beautiful staff at Jakarta Branch.

Pros: Booked a transfer from the airport with the hotel and there was dedicated staff waiting for me when I arrived at the hotel and had my check-in made in the room, with a fresh beverage waiting for me. Room is very spacious and very elegant, all the details were right. Lots of amenities, the quality though was a little sub-par. Did not like the fact there were no blackouts in the windows of the room. Staff was always very engaging and proactively tried to take care of everything I needed. Breakfast was also very good, lots of choices and a very personalized experience as there are always a lot of staff to take care of you. The gym is good specially if you are aiming for a cardio workout, also would like to note When I inquired about the working hours of the gym the attendant told me that if I needed the gym open earlier she would be happy to do it. Resuming it was a lovely experience and hope to back soon.

Room upgrade arrangement and decoration, short clip, birthday cake... My wife was very happy. She liked the complementary massage as well. Really appreciate it. Good selection for breakfast as well. It's really pleasant stay for my family though it was a short stay.

Pros: The Mandarin Oriental was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. We only stayed one night en route between Borneo and Flores. They picked up that I had booked 2 rooms but only used one name and alerted me that there may have been a duplicate. When I confirmed we were indeed 2 couples, they offered to arrange transfers to and from the airport. They organized these perfectly. They even picked up that we were arriving a few hours earlier due to flight changes. We were met by 2 representatives of the taxi company before we even reached the luggage pick up. When we arrived they were literarily waiting at the entrance and knew who we were. They even upgraded us to better suites. We had arrived from Borneo with damp and moldy clothes, which they washed overnight and returned by 07:30 in time for us to pack. The concierge was amazing, made dinner reservations and went to so much trouble to find out about where we could buy alcohol. When we arrived at the Sky Bar for dinner, we were escorted through a full restaurant to the best seating in the house. Afterwards we were given a prime position at the open bar area, a seating seemingly reserved for special guests. I believe this concierge made this happen. When we got back, we entered the gorgeous suite to find a spectacular turned room with cables rolled up and tied with their branded Velcro strap, etc. All our goodies standing around in die bathroom were neatly positioned on white linen cloths. Our laundry was returned folded and wrapped or neatly hanging, all perfectly ironed. The location is stunning in terms of being in the centre of the shopping district. The Grand Mall is basically opposite the hotel.

Pros: I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to catch up with my Indonesian friend in Jakarta. The room was very comfortable with the great view of the monument. Also WiFi was provided for free. Sauna and swimming pool were good too as nobody was there. It was very private. All the staff I met were very polite and friendly especially at Cinnamon! Yoga, Anita and other members welcomed us each morning with great hospitality. Lukito made different kinds of smoothie each day to surprise us. On the last day they gave us the heart warming message card with a small gift which I will never forget. Thank you Cinnamon team. I am so glad that I chose this hotel, my friend and I had a great time to catch up in such a luxurious environment. Now I know why this hotel has got a high rating. My stay was more than I had expected.

Cons: Just minor things We had an issue with the bathroom sink but it was fixed very quickly. There was construction at the pool, which was very noisy and made it difficult to relax up there. We could even hear it a bit in the room. The king bed is made of 2 single person mattresses which are really not expected in this kind of hotel. Taxis or grab are essential to get around.

Pros: I lost my iPhone X in a taxi , and the staff at the Mayflower Marriot Executive Apartments were more than supportive. They had two security guards accompany me firstly to the Metro Police Station [Polri Daera Metro Jaytah, Sentra Pelayanan Kepolisian Terpadu], and then to Grand Indonesia Mall to talk to security guards and help with translation. They also paid for the taxi service too. With their help I was able to submit a police report which is helping with my insurance claim, and also retrieve CCTV footage of the Bluebird taxi that I left it in. Truly outstanding service and I am so grateful that they tried their very best to assist me, as I was all over the place and felt really helpless by myself in a foreign country unable to speak the language fluently. I would have not been able to have the same outcome without their help so thank you for that! Not only that but the rooms were spotless clean, always at the right temperature and very classy. Staff were always happy to say hi and ready to help. Security was top notch too.

Cons: Disadvantages: There is no minimart around the hotel. In the in-room brochure it mentions there is a mini grocery store on B1 floor, but I’m not sure if it’s still open for business since the staff never mentioned it while check-in. During my stay I needed more shower gel and a fresh bathrobe so I called reception from the in-room telephone. Staff said he would contact the housekeeping team regarding my request, but they never showed up the rest of the day. The next day I tried again, but still didn’t get what I requested, and I had to go to the housekeeping staff I heard outside of my rooms to get the shower gel and bathrobe. The main door of the room is not quite sound proving. People walking and talking outside the room could be heard easily.

Pros: Good location close to transjakarta stop and at walking distance from many of the malls in Thamrin and Gambir train station. There are also some good restaurants and bars in the area, and on Sunday you can enjoy the car free area until 11 am. The room is clean and comfortable, and the best thing is the very welcoming staff. Eka, one of the waiters of the restaurant, has been very kind in suggesting me places to visit both in Jakarta and outside the city...and he also makes wonderful smoothies and cocktails!

Cons: Swimming pool was undergoing treatment for both days we were there which the kids were pretty disappointed about. Maybe treat it overnight instead of when it's supposed to be open?
