The location was very central and the room was fairly cheap. Staff was friendly and tried to help us out but it felt more like we were guests in someone's house than at a hostel. While nice people if taken as an home stay, if considered employee at a hostel the professionalism was non existent.
The matress and pillow did NOT come with any covers or blankets and being summer time in a very humid country that was quite disgusting to be honest. The shower room was not existent. It was a shower head installed in the toilet. The walls are paper thin and we could hear absolutely everything that was going on in the next room, even if the person was whispering. The air-conditioning in my room needed coins to work. They provided me with 100 yen coins to operate it but it was a bit annoying to have to put the money in for each hour I would like the system to work for.
The staff were friendly and the showers were powerful. It’s very central and close to shops, restaurants and the port.
The beds were a bit hard
Very well located. The owner was very friendly. There is a nice terrace up roof where you can chill out and hang the clothes. Good price. Rooms are good.
Bathrooms were a bit dirty. There was a fairy mat in the wc which I found very unhygienic. Women room was ok (there was plenty of space) but I was unlucky to share it with 2 or 3 girls who made a lot of noise and switched on the light at late night. Lacks on security: there is no key at the main entrance nor in the room.
Now San & staff are wonderful hosts. I had a lovely stay in Ishigaki. Thanks for extending the hospitality on me.
Noisy room, impossible to sleep if the person of the next room is snoring. There was not sheet on the futon... and the futon was too thin
