Staff at breakfast. Relaxing ambience of the hotel. Location. Mai Tais
Significant litter and food waste found left around the pool area daily. As a returning guest, it would be pleasing if welcomed back.
Based on our room I'm surprised this is a 5 star hotel. The room was barely big enough for bed and the bathroom was so small you couldn't even reach the toilet paper while sitting on the toilet. Horrible experience for the price we paid.
Obviously it was the location and historical significance of the hotel.
The grounds surrounding the hotel are exquisite. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The restaurant and food in the hotel restaurant are excellent. Breakfast on the restaurant patio was wonderful and the wait staff were prompt and quick to adjust. ( I say that because one morning there was a false fire alarm and so many guests came to breakfast all at once, so the staff and the kitchen were slammed. They handled it without missing a beat.) It is pricey, but it's Hawaii and expensive to import anything so I can comprehend that part of the cost.
Not a thing. The RHH is still the most elegant hotel on Waikiki. She quietly displays her history and past prominent visitors with pride. Her staff is cordial, kind and gracious with all guests. Her cleanliness and comfort are top notch. I have been blessed to stay in some phenomenal hotels with my job, but she rates in my top 5 with all of her attributes and qualities.
It's a beautiful hotel inside and out. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable. The bar and beach staff are excellent. The location is perfect for waikiki.
We arrived st 1500 on 14th November and checked out at 10am 16th November. Spending nearly $900 for our time in the hotel. We couldn't access wifi in our room and so were changed into a different room after spending an hour on phone to a tech guy to try to sort. Eventually moved rooms at midnight having had to pack up all our belongings. As we had moved rooms, the next day our room wasnt cleaned until we asked housekeeping at 15.30. The room had not been on the list to clean. By that time our plans for the day had to be changed as a result, this made for a less than relaxing afternoon. HIDDEN COST - On check out, we were charged $80+ for 'resort amenities'. The staff member showed us a booklet we had never seen before, detailing what is including with this charge, this - high speed wifi throughout hotel. - one keepsake photos with complimentary portrait session - complimentary one day rental of GoPro - unlimited local, long distance , toll free and international calls - bottled water - fitness classes, resort cultural classes:lei making, yoga, huiwai-traditional hawaiian sunrise ceremony, hula lessons -complimnetary bag of signature baked goods from royal Hawaiian bakery -10% off retail gift box item royal Hawaiian bakery - sealife entrance buy one get one free - and more We had no booklet in either of the rooms in which we stayed , nor was this presented to us upon arrival/check in. We would have loved to go to cultural activities and so this had really disappointed us. When we brought this up with the manager at check out, I was disappointed at the response. He waived 1x$40 for the lack of wifi and apologised for the lack of room cleaning, but I feel this wasnt good enough, given that the only amenities we benefitted from were four bottles of water, wifi in the room on the second day (although not at the beach which is where we were all day) and 3x complimentary cookies.
