Customer service at the front desk was awful. They spent what felt like an extra 10 minutes aggressively pushing for me to upgrade my vehicle to something I didn’t need which would have more than doubled my rental. They used tactics like telling me I don’t know how to drive in the mountains, telling me the ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE WITH SNOW MODE wouldn’t be at all suitable for the snow, and telling me that once the snow hits, it’ll be impossible for me to make it over the pass. When I responded to that last one with “I’m already staying in the other side of the pass, so that won’t be a problem,” she responded with a very condescending “well I guess you have it all figured out then, don’t you.” They were also aggressive with pushing the add ons that I didn’t need, like prepaying for the gas even though I knew I wouldn’t use more than half a tank, and getting the additional insurance. After inspecting the vehicle, we saw that the mirror and ski rack had some damage to it. They marked the mirror, but when we asked about the ski rack, they were very dismissive. The whole point of our trip was to go snowboarding. We asked about replacing the rack which he told us would take to long, we asked about getting a different vehicle which he said none were available, and when we asked if they at least had a lock for it so our snowboards wouldn’t just fly off on the highway, he simply looked past us and said “next customer in line please.” When we returned the vehicle, as we were leaving I saw one of the employees at the return shop kick the front right fender. I’m sure it was to get some snow off, but still, what the heck???Reviewed 29 Feb 2024
