The staff were friendly and the hotel was warm and clean and right opposite a multi storey car park, which offered good value. We paid £20 for 3 nights. Not far to walk to the town centre and sea front. Hot breakfasts were lovely - especially the sausages and the waffles. Nice to have two comfy armchairs in the room. The stay was good value for the price overall. Really near the station too, as we did use the train 1 day to go to Battle.
I couldn't see to dry my hair as there were no plug sockets near the mirrors in our room. Bed was smaller than expected when booking king-size room (but was comfy). The cold buffet breakfast options were rather disappointing, just toast and cereals - no fruit, yoghurt or pastries. We were rather affected by the noise of music in our room - the bass beat - in the evenings from below us, which went on till midnight on the Wednesday and after 11 on the other two nights we stayed - earplugs!
Close to everything, lovely establishment
The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
We booked, as I thought, en suite facilities, however the shower was in one place and in an another area some ten to twelve feet away there we three steps down to a very small toilet. We were quite concerned using these during the night. The winding stairs to the room were difficult for us as we are in our seventies. I think that in letting room One the owners should be very clear as to the Facilities and their configuration.
Was greeted by a friendly manager who was clear about everything from live music happening on the Friday night to when breakfast was served. Comfortable, clean room - exactly what it said on the tin.
Not much - it's a comfortable room but it's not a hotel and it's not trying to be one.
The live entertainment on Friday and the friendly staff
