Cons: At night is esplendid and quiet but during the day becomes full of noisy people taking photos and selfies of the indoors waterfalls. So many rude people makes it annoying to remain in the lobby. When I was waiting in the line to check-out, a lady cut the line and staff didn't even care. Both things shall not be expected from a 5 stars hotels.

That is first time that I have problem such like this for usung booking.com site. Besides, they did not speak English well. I called to reception because I could not find the hair dryer. Hoever, they could not understand the word 'find'.

Cons: It would have been more convenient if there’s few stuffs who can help for check-in. We didn’t knew where to check in and were just standing on front of the so called information area and no one noticed. Later on knew it’s in different place. Swimming pool should open bit later

Cons: There was two main issues for us. Firstly, the staff speak little to no English, or even Cantonese (which is bizarre as the hotel is in Guangzhou). This makes ordering food, and generally navigating the facilities extremely difficult. The other issue we had was an unexpected hotel policy that requires guests to pay a substantial deposit or pre authorisation at check in for potential damage or services. This isn’t up to standard for a 5 Star hotel carrying the Hilton brand.

Pros: I can only say that this is my favourite hotel in Guangzhou, I wish I could visit more often!! The staff is kind and helpful, the rooms are comfortable (those beds!) and if you book a room with balcony you have your own private spot to enjoy a good book or simply relax! The position is excellent on Shamian island, 5 minutes away from either Huangsha station or Cultural Park Station (depening on the building you book), easy connections with both airport and railways!

I could only get the breakfast restated after my local colleagues had a heated discussion with the reception staff - I don't think I could have resolved the situation on my own. Cons: The carpet in the hallways was loose and did not sit flat on the floor. The hallways looked worn and need repainting. They are also open to the atrium area for the entire building and so there was cigarette smoke, etc. making it unpleasant.

Cons: A lot of construction work is going on All around the place, the square,plaza and the hotel itself.. no such thing as garden view for the next few weeks or months I guess..I asked them to give me a room on the back side as it seemed away from the noise happening on the square/garden side. They didn't "find" my reservation on their system which I was to pay 337 and I was just too tired to wait so I made a new booking for 408 rmb plus the next day I asked for late check out due to flight schedule and they told me to pay half day fee so in total I paid 612 for a 1 night stay considering I arrived after midnight and checked out at 5pm the next day

Pros: Special thanks to the staff - Susie, he has done above expectations. I have booked for twin bed room. However, upon arrival, one of the reception staff asked would a double bed work out to be a better option for me as the room space is bigger. Then I asked what is the size of the double bed - it could be queen size or king size. She told me it is 1.2m. I am quite shocked to learn about the bed size as how it gonna fit for 2 of us. Thus to further clarified, the staff decided to show me the bedding configuration. After viewing of the beds, I opted for double bed. BUT, this has turned to my worst nightmare as the room I have had, comes with fluorescent lights instead of that kinda typical hotel lighting. There have no fridge, no safe deposit box as what have stated on booking.com and worst of all NO power point to plug the electrical kettle! I have to boil the water under the table of the so called TV console. Fortunately, a known staff - Susie solved my problems all at once. A big thank you to her, she is really done above expectations!! Keep up your good job girl!

Cons: However, many things were wrong. The first room I was assigned to looked nothing like the photographs, and smelled of dead animal and chemicals. After I told the receptionist that the room was dirty and smelly, she put me on a higher floor in a room that was only slightly better. It did not smell as much. In both rooms, cabinets and fixtures were falling apart, wallpaper was peeling off of the walls in the room and practically falling off in the hallways. There were very large mold spots in the rooms on the ceilings and the walls, and large area of buckled wallpaper from water damage. The showers looked as though they had not been cleaned in a decade, there was dirt and grime in every single corner of the room, lights were broken, the rug had loose debris all over it. I could not take a shower because I was so grossed out, and could not stay there long. This place is completely uninhabitable - please save yourself and do not go there.
