9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, modern and clean bathroom with tub, all minibar items included, great restaurant. Location in city centre but very quiet.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is great, beds were good.
Cons: The room was relatively dark with even the bathroom space not lit well enough for things like makeup applications or a thorough shave. For the bedroom space the light was nice and cosy, for dressing and getting ready it was simply too dark with no possibility to really check for details. There was nothing overly special in terms of facilities?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were well furnished and had a great vibe
7.9 Good
Pros: Locatie is top
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very central, close to everything in Groningen. Beautiful building and very nice room looking out of a small courtyard. Very typical Dutch style room in the roof of the building. Super nice complementary mini bar, tea and coffee facilities. Courteous staff.
Cons: Bathroom / shower facilities upstairs. Luckily WC is down stairs. Room not spotless dust and hair on the floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Groningen is worth a visit just to stay in this hotel. Excepcional place in every aspect, architecture, design of the room, the space and the fantastic garden. The restaurant has to be mentioned apart, the food, the service... I can imagine travel to Groningen just to stay in such a beautiful environment.
Cons: I didn't want to leave...

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, gorgeous breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom in the suite was just a little room with a shower and a toilet. If you showered, the toilet got all wet. It was more of a nice apartment than a hotel room, I would say.

Pros: Staff were professional, helpful and nice, a great combination. Impressed!

Pros: The rooms were gorgeous, much nicer than they looked on the photos on booking. The bed was super comfy, and they out a baby crib in my room on request. The bathroom and shower are really good as well. The location is great for university/city centre.
Cons: We should probably have been told about ear plugs on check in - they are in the red box by the bed and are definitely a must if you are staying on weekend night, lots of noise from outside. Also, be prepared for dutch stairs - narrow and steep.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Super comfortable beds and good amenities plus great location.
Cons: Only negative were that rooms aren’t replenished after 1pm so our room was left as we were there, but got fresh towels.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location was ok, also a quiet room. Room has curtains to block evening light / sun light, however it was not a complete blackout. So for the ones who have issues to sleep with some brightness, this might be an issue.
Cons: Heating was not ok. Although the room temperature thermometer was marking 22 degrees Celsius, it was cold inside, specially in the evening and early morning.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Clean and big room
Cons: Its not a friendly feel and it feels like just another night of stay, I was charged €150 without any warning due to smoking weed in the room which we didnt realize was forbidden
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The position is perfect when arriving by car. The hotel is in proximity of a park-and-ride terminal, so parking is not an issue compared to hotels in the center. There is an excellent bus service to get to Groningen downtown anyway. My room on the sixth floor was fabulous, very clean, spacious, providing a cozy environment with terrace, bathroom, WC, etc. Breakfast choice was fabulous and good quality. Not the cheapest choice but a great stay.
Cons: Nothing to complain.

Cons: Soundproofing not perfect
6.3 Good
Pros: Seemed new/remodeled and I had a big room
Cons: I got there at 10:30pm and the reception was closed. Apparently it closes at 10 which seems crazy for a 3 star hotel. Had hard time contacting them to get the door open as the buzzer didn't seem to work. The heater in my room was not working either so pretty cold night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: + Good location, walking distance from Station and to the city center, but yet on a quiet street. + Friendly staff + Modern, spacious and comfortable room + Loose leaves tea & espresso machine in the room + Open bathtub and wash basin in the room yet with separated toilet and separated shower cabin + Strong shower and big bathtub + Comfy sitting area + Small balcony with morning sun + Enough sockets to charge gadgets for a whole family + Natural skylight for the bathroom area + Generally a room full of light + Good climate control + Wooden floor

B&B De Oude Nadorst - Groningen - Building
6
8.5 Excellent (262 reviews)
Overview Reviews
B&B De Oude Nadorst lies just outside of the lively city of Groningen, set in a traditional farmhouse building overlooking the scenic countryside. It offers both a spacious suite as a unique caravan accommodation. The shower facilities are shared when the suite and caravan are both booked, while there is an en suite private toilet available in each unit. Every morning, an extensive breakfast is served in the room. There are also packed lunches available to take away and dinner is available upon request. In front of the farmhouse, there is a large garden where you can lay down in the grass and enjoy the quaint setting of De Oude Nadorst. The nearby area is also ideal for long hiking and cycling trips. The Groningen city centre is just 4 km by bike or car. The Zernike University complex is 3 km away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff, great breekfast
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked the surrounding landscape and the style of the dining room. Also, I liked that children with special needs work in the farm
Cons: The door was very old and heavy and we could not go into the bathroom at night because we thought it was locked. Desired explanation within the website
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great place to stay: Only a 20 min bike ride into Groningen and, yet, there is a great farm atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming and even offered us a ride into town to get rental bikes. Speaking of perfect service: we were served a wholesome breakfast directly to the caravan in which we stayed. The icing on the cake were the several farm animals which even could be fed (lambs, pigs, horses, alpacas, and many more). I would recommend De Oude Nadorst to anyone who likes a good farm stay with all the benefits of the city nearby.
Cons: Rental bikes on site would be much appreciated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing. Quiet with the farm animals around. I lived in the caravan so I had to go to the actual house in order to use toilet and shower.
Cons: Take into consideration that property is not located in the city so you have to use bicycle bus or taxi.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming and cosy stay
Cons: The toilet and shower were in the house, so in that way it was like camping. It wasn’t however a big issue for us

Pros: Pancakes were fluffy but lukewarm. Staff very polite and accommodating. Nice atmosphere!
Cons: Scrambled eggs cold. From midnight til 1.30am guests in the 'garden area' below my window talking very loudly every 20 min when they left bar to have a smoke break. Shouted down once....but their memories were short at the next break
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Coffee and tea available in the room. And slippers and bathrobe are provided. Heating in the room and bathroom was just right.
Cons: My room was next to the street and you could hear the noise. But fortunately it was not a busy summer day so it was not bad.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: I am happy and can recommend to everyone! Just my colleagues paid the same price and got triple larger room with cathedra view... not honest...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a very nice, old but renovated hotel, right at the Groote Markt. Very well located, with restaurants and shops really close. The room was big, as was the bathroom and it was very clean. I would definitely stay again.
Cons: I had an incident with my knee and we had to go up a flight of steep stairs to get to our room. Not something I would have thought much about if not for my knee, but will probably ask for a room with better access next time.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, staff, and cleanliness were outstanding. The interior, both of the hotel and the room, is very nicely decorated, and the room was nice and quiet. Room had all the essentials, including a desk and spacious wardrobe.
Cons: The shower, while clean and nice-looking, was a bit difficult to set up nicely: water temperature was difficult to set, and there wasn't a lot of pressure (though it was adequate). Furthermore, both the bedroom and bathroom were a bit on the small side, though (again) adequate.
6.5 Good

Apollo Hotel Groningen - Groningen - Building

8.2 Excellent (3,221 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Apollo Hotel Groningen, you'll be centrally located in Groningen, within a 15-minute drive of Groninger Museum and Grote Markt. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern, no noise, easy to find (I took an OV fiets from the station), nice restaurant, big bathroom, tea and coffee in the room. I stayed one night and it's good value for money.
Cons: Everything was fine, just some small oddities, but nothing to keep me from staying there again (nowhere to plug in coffee machine in the room so you have to get a little creative, the bed is a boxspring with a thin top layer mattress, instead of a sturdy thick hotel mattress but it was still comfortable, check-in is next to the bar and kitchen making it seem they're trying to do both at the same time, causing it to maybe be a bit slow).
5.8 Okay
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom and shower spaces definitely a plus. Good having gym access. Position perfect for attending MartiniPlaza activities.
Cons: Room a bit too dark. Not so pleased to walk from one building to the other especially when it’s cold (there’s a covered bridge connect the buildings but still...).
7.9 Good
Cons: Travelling for work. The matress was very soft and the heating wasn't great so I didn't sleep properly. Food was lovely and the staff couldn't be more helpful. All the staff spoke English which is great as I don't speak Dutch. Typical Dutch service.... A more relaxed pace than the UK but great attention to detail. I would happily recommend the Apollo to business travellers. Beer prices were steep but not much more than a Dutch pub. I would seriously consider hiring a bike/scooter to visit Groningen City centre due to its proximity and locating the bus back wasn't great but I managed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to my daughter’s apartment, bike rental, easy parking, groovy lounge & room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was superb !

Best Western Hotel Groningen Plaza is situated at the intersection of the A7 and A28, yet it is in a nature area. The location makes our hotel the ideal basis for business stays, but also for more leisurely visits to the city and the area around Groningen. Parking is free of charge and from Friday to Sundays you can use the shuttle service to the city centre, which is also free of charge. The hotel has 121 rooms, a large number of which have a view of lake Hoornsemeer. The lake is a wonderful place for cycling and walking; the hotel offers bicycle hire and maps of walking routes are available. After a good walk or bike ride you can enjoy the hotel’s pool, leaving you fully refreshed for a special culinary dinner in restaurant Meerwold.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The building and the view from my room. It took a little while to figure out how to open and close the windows. But having played with them long enough-really cool system.
Cons: The walk from the bus thru the wind and rain. The walk is really nice. It was actually the wind I didn't enjoy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Free parking, excellent bed and clean room with hardly any noise from in or outside hotel, 4* breakfast, friendly staff and on top of all a heated swimming poool
Cons: shuttle to city center only in the weekends
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lively modern hotel just outside the city of Groningen with parking and a shuttle to and from the city. The room was small but comfortable. The hotel borders on a nature area which offers a nice view.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Swimming pool
Cons: Expensive dinner
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: There was free parking - thats the only good thing I can say about our stay. Overall, a very disappointing and uncomfortable stay.
Cons: The room was very dated, the carpet was heavily stained. My baby found deflated balloons under the furniture (extremely dangerous choking hazard!). The bathroom was not clean (toilet was not flushed, there was litter and hair in the bath), the bathroom tiles were were grimy and some fittings were rusted. My baby got very sick (vomiting and diarrhoea) from eating the food. We did not sleep well, the room was very warm despite opening the windows. The parking was quite far from the hotel. Overall, a very disappointing and uncomfortable stay.

Pros: Location is great, beds were good.
Cons: The room was relatively dark with even the bathroom space not lit well enough for things like makeup applications or a thorough shave. 5.0 Okay
Pros: good spacious rooms, clean, close to city
Cons: Farly overmarketed concept, I want a value for money hotelroom, I do not want to see rich children pretend they are students in shoppingwindows. Stop the bullshit, cut the prices and save me some money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service Staff friendly rooms very clean and spacious I was travelling with my daughter for the open day at University Love it !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, closed to city center. Friendly and helpful staff. Great general vibe.
Cons: Bathroom supplies were barely enough, 30 ml of shower gel for two persons for three nights is hardly considered adequate.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the clean lines of the interior design! Comfortable rooms and very friendly, helpful staff
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and trendy. They staff were also friendly and helpfull!
4.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the fact that the hotel is within walking distance from the binnenstad. The room was clean and I enjoyed the special welcoming touch - a bag of sweet treats and a nespresso machine for a lovely cup of coffee.
Cons: I had only one request when I booked my room and that was to have a quiet room if possible. On my arrival the person at the check in desk told me that they have upgraded my room and that I would be staying in a suite. However, when I got to my 'suite', I discovered that it was still the standard room that I originally booked!? To add to my disappointment, the room was right next to the students' communal kitchen. I woke up every night at about 12am and was only able to go back to sleep at about 2h30 in the mornings after the students have finished cooking and went to bed. The plates and the cutlery in breakfast room weren't clean - they still had rinse marks on them.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful, we had a great view of the Martini Tower from our 5th floor room.
Cons: We prebooked an extra bed but didn’t get an extra tea cup, glasses, toiletries, tea bags and coffee etc to take into account the third guest.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were great in general. The location is great close to the center and there are bus stops conveniently in front of the hotel.
Cons: The internet connection was really bad, both in the room and in the lobby.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable.
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff really helpful and responsive to requests and any problems. Nice to be able to get free fruit each day.
Cons: Free bottle of water each day would be appreciated. Room noise of background "hum" at night when trying to sleep. Air conditioning was bit noisy and went from hot to cold. No room service menu and restaurant menu had too few healthy main courses for fish and vegetarian preferences.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room and bathroom, relatively silent given how close it is to the motorway. Good breakfast, with a decent selection of warm food (eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, pancakes) and better than average coffee. Friendly staff. Also a plus is that they have a 24h drinks, sandwiches and snacks fridge next to the reception.
Cons: They will charge you for their private parking. The breakfast (19 eur) is too expensive. The shower cabin is very small. The minibar was empty. And, as someone else also pointed out, the bed cover is too short.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a beautiful city
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Free coffee and tea on the room available.
Cons: Shower had a small glass door which only covered half of the shower. So the whole bathroom was flooded after I took a short shower.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff, breakfast. Quietness
Cons: Nail on the floor, short bed sheet.
