Pros: Very good, helpful and friendly contact. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. I suggest to choose street view rooms with a small balcony because you can sit and look onto the small port with many sailboats, small yachts and fishing boats. The breakfast is amazing!!! Wide variety of small sandwiches, eggs, sweets, dairy products, cereals and fruits. Tasty and delicious. The location is perfect because the hotel is on the edge of the pedestrian zone. The old town is charmy and beautiful with a lot of sights, good restaurants, shops and bars. We used the free beach with rocky steps as the locals did.

Pros: The location was the best in Grando, I looked at all the other 4 star hotels and this had the best location with easy access to the bus station and the old town, I brought a return bus ticket at the information office at the airport it was only 5 euros. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was German with itailian bread. They did have english tea which surprised me. The rooms have a plastic shower with water jets and a seat. The room was not very modern with old tv and furnishings, the bed was huge and very confortable. The hotel is only half the size of the pictured building as the end in private flats and a shop. I would recommend this hotel as the location and views was the best in Grando.

Cons: The breakfast is good but pricey ($48 euros for our family of four!). There are cheaper options around for sure. Also, unfortunately, our shower was clogged when we arrived. So we were unable to take real showers (not that my children minded!). It was the weekend so no plumbers could come out during our stay. The hotel offered us free breakfast the next day to make up for it, which was nice and welcome.

Cons: No mattress cover on the bed, just a single sheet on the bed. Street light just outside the window so room require blackout blinds. We asked for an extra pillow but despite the person at the reception acknowledging our request, he didn’t bring it to us. All in all not really a 4 star service I’m afraid!

Cons: The reception gave us the time table for the bus from Grando to the train station, and the train station timings into Trieste. They also told us about the boat trips. They did everything that we required.

We payed for parking 5 euros per night at the hotel, but there is public parking nearby at the same price if there is no room at the hotel.Room was spacious, nice beds, balcony, airconditioning and tea making facilities. Bathroom had a shower curtain instead of a door, but plenty of hot water. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast, ham, cheese, eggs etc. Coffee was by a nespresso machine. The staff were very helpful and recommended a choice of restaurants to us and gave us milk to make tea in the room.

Pros: The hotel is big and a bit dated. The reception is also big, you feel like you have stepped into another decade somewhere in the middle of the last century ( which does not mean that it is something wrong with that, just a bit unusual these days ). The same thing goes for the breakfast room, it´s big, and a lot of waiters in white jackets running around removing your plate even before you swallowed your last bit of bread, and then you have to get a new plate for the next round. They must have an enormous amount of dishes to wash every day. :-) The breakfast itself is quite alright, nothing exciting, and after three days you get a bit bored. The coffe is fantastic though if you order it from the guy behind the enormous coffemachine ( don´t take the coffe from the self-service machines ). We had a nice few days and we might go back next year!

Pros: Great location, nice breakfast.
Cons: Having to move rooms because of no soundproofing. Receptionist was rude, unapologetic and dismissive. New room was smaller with little natural light and a tiny balcony largely enclosed by an emergency exit staircase. Being accused of breaking the air conditioning controls which were already damaged when we arrived. Pool and spa facilities not at all as inviting or relaxing as they are portrayed on the website. Overall, a tired hotel which might once have been 4 star quality but needs renovating and a change in attitude to be worth the price.

Cons: Small shower cubicle with very temperamental water supply - kept going very hot and cold while showering. Parking is €18 per night extra in hotel car park. No other option as it is in a camera controlled pedestrian precinct, and there would be a fine for entering it, unless authorized by the hotel. Toilet flushing in next room sounded like a train passing by.

Cons: We stayed in a Juniorsuite with our two children, which was a bit cramped. Since the children had to sleep on the sofabed ( which we were prepared for ) there was really no were to sit. And we missed having hooks in the hallway for our wet jackets ( it was a rainy weekend ), there are really no where to hang things except for in the cupboard, but I do not like to put my outdoor clothing in the cupboard with the rest of my clean clothes. Also in the bathroom we were missing hooks. Four people with four wet robes coming back from the swimminingpool, four beachtowels ( also for the pool area ) and four bathtowels. Where skall one put everything?

Cons: No proper garden (almost every square inch has been turned into a gravelled car park — which is undoubtedly very important (no parking in the street!!!) but leaves the guest with only the option of the beach (for which you have to pay!) or a public park of which there are plenty. Although much is made of the TOTAL RENOVATION in the year 2000 (!), there are signs of wear and tear that could do with refurbishment (such as our bathroom, especially the shower....). It is a four star hotel, after all.

Pros: Wide range of choices during breakfast. We could choose from 3+ options for dinner (several options for starter+main course+dessert). It wasn't too much but it was enough, and it tasted good each day. Receptionists are very kind and help you quickly. From our terrace we could see the sea, but just a little part of it.

Pros: The food was really tasty. Paulo is the best waiter ever! So lovely to see he always helps for the ols ladies. (For example: to read them a menü. .) The blond hair lady in the reception was really helpfull she always smiling. :) Only 4 minutes from the sea, perfect location. We got two bikes, the best if you go to the old town with them.. so fantastic tour! :) So this is 10! Thank you so much for everyone!

Cons: The room was old fashioned. We have expected a double bed but we have got two separate bed instead. Warm food option for breakfast (scrambled eggs and bacon each morning) was a bit boring. Caffee machine creates weird taste cappucino. Sea is 10 mins walk, however Grado's beaches wasn't high quality across the Island. They don't have their own parking lot, so you have to find a free parking lot. (Free parking around the hotel)

Cons: 20 Euro extra charge for Dinner is too expensive. Additional charge for small children. Hotel is obviously from last century (unsafe keys/door locking, elevator of children size, air con makes more noise than cooling, TV with very few channels). 3 bed room has no space to open suitcases. Car to be parked in front in public space. Wifi didn't work.

Cons: I've never encountered such paper-thin walls in my entire life. I felt like sleeping right in the middle of a very busy train station - every single sound woke us up. Flip flopping, people trying to unlock their doors for minutes (the locks are ridiculous), people talking (!) in their rooms (!), every single noise was as if it was performed on my very head. People going to bed very late but also people getting up super-early and shouting, chattering, lingering, making phone calls in the halls (as early as 6.30... thanks to the Dutch travel group) cost us the one thing that is most precious in a holiday: our sleep. This hotel is neither fit for families nor for party night owls since the racket goes on CONSTANTLY. But it's not only the noises from the other guests - on top of all that the excessive noise from the breakfast room will definitely wake you up. It's a shame, too: the cost-benefit ratio of this hotel is fine, and breakfast features a great selection (even if not of the most "luxurious" goods: at least fresh juice and coffee with real milk would be nice...). The bikes are a great feature, comfortable and practical. But still I am sorry to say: Do not stay here unless you don't care for sleep. We were completely knackered at the end of the holiday. Shame.
