10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was very clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, there was free parking outside and a supermarket a few meters away. Good breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A nice clean apartment, not far from the beach. A grocery store is just a few steps away. Grado has pleasant weather (not too hot), nice sandy beaches that are especially convenient for families with kids who cannot swim yet. Lots of restaurants, caffes, ice cream parlors etc.
Cons: The nearby beach closed too early, at about 8 PM, just when the sunset was about to start. Free parking on the street sometimes meant having to search for an empty spot for a while, but in the end I always found one within a few minutes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, great cleaning service, lovely holiday
Cons: - kitchenette deposit 50 eur - suggest to resign from this charge - bit early check out (10.00) when breakfast is served to 10.00 am too
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was clean, new, nicely designed and spacious. Competent, helpful and friendly reception staff.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent

Bravo to owner or management. Big thanx to housekeeping..it was soooo clean. And cherry on the cake lovely Sara.. friendly, open ,ready to help and to make you toenjoy your stay. Receptionist is the face and spirit of the hotel. And she is amazing. We are very grateful. Will be back for sure. Elena and Slava
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, and the facilities are very good. The bathroom was very comfortable, as was the little kitchen. Staff welcomed us and was very helpful and thorough in providing information. The property is located in a relatively quiet area, and parking was available for free.
Cons: The double bed was made of two separate beds, which rolled apart during the night - this made the sleeping very uncomfortable. It did not help that the bed mattress was extremely soft and one was sinking in it. At peak times there is issue with parking spots, as they do not seem to be enough reserved for guests of the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful apartment with everything you need to make a coffee or even to cook a real meal. Nice to have a balcony although the view is on the next building only. Some noise of the ventilation of that building if you leave the balcony door open. Free parking in the street. A short walk to the beach and somewhat longer to the center. Supermarket at 50 meters which is nice if you only want to have a croissant for breakfast.
Cons: Checking out took 25 minutes. There was a girl at the desk but she said she was 'new' and did not know exactly how to do this. I think a five minute training session should have been enough.

Pros: Location. Room with a big terace.
Cons: Breakfast was the same every day, a lot of grilled/cooked small meals, almost no fresh veggies, zero variety of egg meals. No prosecco :) Parking was extra charged.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place. Our apartment #605 was the top floor with great views. Very spacious open apartment with big balcony overlooking sea. All perfect clean and well serviced. Breakfast all good. Great to have bike available for rental anytime, so convenient to get around the Grado by bike, enjoyed a lot.
Cons: -
7.9 Good
Pros: Very good breakfast with Italien dishes Great view on the sea.
Cons: The bed was not comfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very kind and helpful staff. The breakfast was always nice, rich selection of different kind of food. Every morning we found something new and delicious on the buffet table. Giovanni prepared excellent Italian espresso. There was a small kitchen corner in the double room with fridge, microwave. We could prepare something for lunch or dinner if we did not want to go out.
Cons: The center of Grado was 10-15 minutes by bicycle, and we stayed on the 1st floor from where we couldn’t see the beach. But in case of need the hotel provided us bikes free of charge which was very nice of them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel with super service and family atmosphere

7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Breakfast is very nice and fresh. Location is nice if you don't mind walking some till the beach. Clean.
Cons: Very dated/used furniture in the room, renovation is needed. You can hear everything from the corridor in the room especially bad is the sound of closing/slapping doors. At breakfast all the warm food is almost always cold (eggs, grilled food) as no warmers are used to keep it nice warm. One junior suite was much smaller than the other junior suite.

Pros: Great breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, super friendly staff and great breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Returned after last year with my family. Breakfast got very much improved, which we appreciated. Now it is a 4* Hotel with everything. The views from the rooms facing the harbour are perfect. Rooftop bar and the Roofpool are perfect for young&old. Walking distance everywhere, if you need, you can rent a complimentary bike.
Cons: There is no extra towel or even a blanket for saunas. You have a bag of towels to use by the pool and saunas ? After you take a steam sauna, or use the pool the ONE and only towel is useless and is unsanitary to do so. All in all the saunas could use a little more attention, so you can fully relax with spectacular views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very pleasing. Not far from the town center. Very nice pool. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Not applicable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel location. Clean, hospitable atmosphere and great service standards. Bedroom / bathrooms excellent.
Cons: Breakfast very predictable and did not offer a great selection in comparison to similarly priced hotels. Try getting the chef to provide omelettes on the morning... Having to pay for parking! Very frustrating that this should happen for residents who have already hired vehicles. Downstairs bar small and never manned.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast!Fresh and delicious food options offered in a very clean restaurant!
Cons: The bed in the living room was not as comfortable as the one in the main bedroom.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: towels in the spa would be great

Pros: the pool is great
Cons: the rooms are noisy, you can hear almost everything what happens outside

Pros: The breakfast had a more extensive range than the usual we have often found in Italian hotels. I have coeliac disease so it was great to find celiac foods available. The staff were very kind and helpful when our car broke down outside the hotel. They made many calls for us, translated and sympathised.
Cons: Nothing. The resort was very quiet and our of season but this was not the hotel's fault

Cons: The coast(water with so many plants) is not the best there, but it is not the fault of the hotel

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach was close. The housemaid did a nice job every day.
Cons: Our room was right on a street corner. This is a busy pedestrian street with a lot of noise until late at night. We had a restaurant underneath, so the window couldn't be left open. The noise came in and the cigarette smoke from time to time. Breakfast was served in the hallway and was not considered hygienic. One morning it was spoiled milk, but I noticed in time and my child didn't eat the muesli. The parking space is tight, allowing more cars than can fit.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Plentiful breakfast. Located right on the corner of main street. Excellent location. Seaside walk is 1 minute, beach is 3 minutes. Historic town centre 3 minutes. Helpful staff.
Cons: Everything was fine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Possibility to have breakfast in your room, very central location close to the beach and old town.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortably equipped rooms, all you need is there. Great location with short distance everywhere - to beach and the center.
Cons: We had room just above the street, so all noisy people in the street was waking us up during night, but this is not fault of the hotel. You could also close the window and turn AC on.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, spacious apartment, well furnished. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
Cons: Matresses in the bedroom were uncomfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast could be upgraded with regard to quality
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful and everyone could find something he/she likes. They provided gluten-free food as well. Very good location, close to everything (beach, old town, harbour, shops, restaurants...) Helpful and kind staff, very clean rooms and bathroom. New and modern aparthotel.
Cons: Bikes... It was written there are free bikes for the guests. Not enough, not in good condition. No balcony, no place to hang out and dry your towels, swimming suits. A little bit small, jam-packed living/dining room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is amazing, everything very near, beach and shops, accomodation is right in the centre of living. The staff was very kind and helpful, very good breakfast, very clean and spacy rooms. I can surly recommend this accomodation.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Hotel Lido - Grado
9
8.9 Excellent (126 reviews)
Hotel Metropole - Grado - Building
10
8.8 Excellent (414 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Metropole is situated right in front of Grado's pretty tourist harbour. It is just a 5 minutes' walk from the the pedestrian area in the historic centre, and the beach with thermal spas. Rooms and suites feature elegant parquet floors and functional furniture. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby. Hotel Metropole was the traditional destination of the Habsburg dynasty until the early years of the 20th century. Today it offers a regal stay in the heart of Grado.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredibly nice and sweet, that made all the difference during our trip.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Staff very helpful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super location right on the old harbour - and just 100 metres to the heart of the old town!
Cons: All good!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great! Just steps away from the pedestrian zone and a quick walk to the beach. Loads of restaurants nearby. The two-room suite was awesome for our family of four. The concierges at the front desk were really helpful with local information and recommendations, and the waitress at breakfast was super sweet. The breakfast was good but pricey ($48 euros for our family of four!).
Cons: The breakfast is good but pricey ($48 euros for our family of four!). There are cheaper options around for sure. Also, unfortunately, our shower was clogged when we arrived. So we were unable to take real showers (not that my children minded!). It was the weekend so no plumbers could come out during our stay. The hotel offered us free breakfast the next day to make up for it, which was nice and welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: very nice hotel right in the center. AC and with closed windows very calm. breakfast 14 €/person - we prefered to go to a local cafe
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good, helpful and friendly contact. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. I suggest to choose street view rooms with a small balcony because you can sit and look onto the small port with many sailboats, small yachts and fishing boats. The breakfast is amazing!!! Wide variety of small sandwiches, eggs, sweets, dairy products, cereals and fruits. Tasty and delicious. The location is perfect because the hotel is on the edge of the pedestrian zone. The old town is charmy and beautiful with a lot of sights, good restaurants, shops and bars. We used the free beach with rocky steps as the locals did.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room overlooking the harbour! Good breakfast on the frontside looking at the boats. Very helpful staff!
5.8 Okay
Pros: nice location, very central
Cons: No mattress cover on the bed, just a single sheet on the bed. Street light just outside the window so room require blackout blinds. We asked for an extra pillow but despite the person at the reception acknowledging our request, he didn’t bring it to us. All in all not really a 4 star service I’m afraid!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was the best in Grando, I looked at all the other 4 star hotels and this had the best location with easy access to the bus station and the old town, I brought a return bus ticket at the information office at the airport it was only 5 euros. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was German with itailian bread. They did have english tea which surprised me. The rooms have a plastic shower with water jets and a seat. The room was not very modern with old tv and furnishings, the bed was huge and very confortable. The hotel is only half the size of the pictured building as the end in private flats and a shop. I would recommend this hotel as the location and views was the best in Grando.
Cons: The reception gave us the time table for the bus from Grando to the train station, and the train station timings into Trieste. They also told us about the boat trips. They did everything that we required.
6.0 Good
Pros: A lovely hotel in a terrific location. Very nice room and friendly staff. I'd definitely stay at the Metripole again.
6.0 Good
Pros: Pleasant situation in the heart of Grado on the Canal. Nice breakfast with great variety. Front rooms must have a great view.
Cons: The traffic situation: It is not easy to access the hotel by car. It would be helpful to give directions. You could say if the room you are offering is a front or a back room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Everything was ok, free wifi was also available in the lobby. Not the nicest Hotel, but definitely a good bang for a buck.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room service was perhaps the best I've encountered in all of my overseas travels. The hotel was immaculate at all times and the staff went out of their way to assist in any way possible throughout my stay.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great value for the cost. Staff is incredibly friendly and cares a lot about the guests. Rooms could use some renovation, but cleanliness and helpful staff make up for it. Definitely recommend.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location and set-up was perfect for a romantic "get-away". Although the rooms and breakfast are generally basic, the friendliness of the staff (Family Business) makes it up for it. The cleaning staff was extremely forthcoming and kind.
Cons: Parking was the only pain-point, 15 EUR/day and about 10 minutes walking distance, where it is about 6 EUR/day on the street and you can pay with an app. Smarter next time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was Great, Breakfast was Tasty and enough to eat! People in the hotel were friendly, especially Marco!!
Cons: /
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, the hospitality is the best you can get and the stuff always at your disposal to help!
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Situated in middle of the pedestrian zone. Bars, restaurants, beach are in the proximity. Staff is kind.
Cons: The hotel is from the'80 and was never refurbished since. No on-site parking. No free beach service. The breakfast is medicore, lack of choices. The walls are not insulated, you can hear what's happening nextdoor. A bit overpriced.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything Perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property has an ideal location for those who want to stay in the middle of the city center (5 min walking distance to the private beach, 10 min walking distance to the public beach, supermarket around the corner, nice shops/bars/restaurants). We stayed on the second floor. Had a small room with a nice little terrace (inner courtyard). It was pretty much quiet, so we could get some good sleep. Room was cleaned and towels were changed everyday. AC and Internet worked well. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. Property offers parking service against a reasonable fee, a swimming pool and a bar at the rooftop.
Cons: The room was a bit too small. The roof top bar has never been open during our stay (4 days). Parking service: I had not been informed that my car was parked somewhere else (~10 min from the hotel). I didn’t like the fact that the owner placed his scooter (he gets to the car parking by using one of those electric scooters) inside my car right to/on the front seat instead of using the trunk. Would have been respectful to be informed/asked!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personnel is very friendly and helpful. They know the city and can recommend where to eat or how the public / private beaches work. The breakfast service and food & beverage quality is absolutely great. So is the indoor pool with whirlpool (which was rarely used by other guests so we had a great time for relax just by ourselves there). And the rooftop bar has sea view and (again) great service! This is how a three star hotel should look like!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly, very good location accessible by car, parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, excellent air condition and good breakfast.

Cons: Quite small room.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area just over the bridge from the main part of Grado, yet only a 10 minute stroll to the main shopping streets with a large choice of restaurants, historical centre and the sea front. We payed for parking 5 euros per night at the hotel, but there is public parking nearby at the same price if there is no room at the hotel.Room was spacious, nice beds, balcony, airconditioning and tea making facilities. Bathroom had a shower curtain instead of a door, but plenty of hot water. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast, ham, cheese, eggs etc. Coffee was by a nespresso machine. The staff were very helpful and recommended a choice of restaurants to us and gave us milk to make tea in the room.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Nice, modern and clear accomodion with beautiful view.
Cons: There was not.
7.1 Good
Pros: We actually loved the staff. Everyone was really nice and helpful even though we did not speak italian. The breakfast was also decent although there could be more variety. The place is actually beautiful. The port, and nature. Parking was provided. And the reastaurant near the "beach" was also really good.
Cons: First of all we got the room nr. 10. Which is the last room on the 1st floor. That wouldn't be a problem unless you take a look from the window on the left side of the room which opens to a ship service shop/junkyard? I don't know but it was noisy basically all the time from the early morning. We woke up every day to some really annoying noise and shouting. Other problem would be the really thin walls. Basically if one of the guests sneezed in the room near us, it would feel like the person is in our room. And you can imagine all the other type of noises. The room had also another really big problem. Since it's the last room in the building basically it's in the corner of the building and there is a reinforcement wooden beam approx at 1.75m heighth in the middle of the room( i'm 2.0m). In the daytime there was no problem, but in the night time I've hit my head several times. This should be at least stated when you get the room. The suite itself is far from the reception(approx 300m) and far from the beach(approx 700m). Unfortunately the beach is useless unless you only want to sunbath. The water is really shallow and full of algae and seaweed. Actually the camping and hotel is approx. 8 km far away from the center of the city Grado.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place to stay and visit Grado. The Marina and entire complex is really great. Everything was perfect. Congrats!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The reception is in the neighbouring camping site (~300m), but this is not written, you have to find someone who know ehat to do...
7.5 Good
Pros: Room and bed were comfortable. Place was clean and roomy. Receptionist was helpful.
Cons: Location was above bar next to marina. It was quiet but location wasn’t great. Couldn’t walk around marina. We ate at restaurant at golf course across the street. Check in was a little tricky as receptionist at different location. Room had metal support beams and I hit my head on way to bathroom. Room would not be good for tall people.
6.7 Good
Pros: The view of balcon is nice and the breakfast was delicious.
Cons: All of staff was realy kindly but the barman in the pool bar counted more then was indicated in the price list. When I asked why no answer and no bill. :( The price is really high. All services without the breakfast were in the camping neighboring. The beach is 10 and the pool is 15 min walk!! There was lot of people. If you don't like camping feeling like us I don't recommend it. There were lot of seaweed in the beach....
7.5 Good
Pros: The room is super clean. The building and whole complex is very nice. Swiming pool is cool and free
Cons: The reception is a far away from the buliding where are the rooms. Breakfast very poor
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The apartment is quite big, modern, well equipped and everything was in great condition. It has AC in both main rooms, which was a life saver as it was really hot outside!! The Marina is actually part of a big, closed, camping complex, so it's pretty safe and parking is not an issue. The building is far enough from the main camping area so noise is not an issue.
Cons: It's about 700m from the beach and most facilities. While there is a really big balcony, Grado is now unfortunately home of the tiger mosquito, so without repellent, you can't really enjoy evenings outside there. Not really flat related, but while the beaches are OK, the sea is too shallow and full of algae to really do anything else but splashing around.
