Buffets were plentiful, nice onsen, large room.
futon bed very thin, so a bit uncomfortable. Property a little old. A short hike down to the middle of town, so a steep uphill walk back.
The outdoor onsen was nice, . The dinner buffet was nice, we enjoyed the quality of the food but the 1,5 hour limit was too pressuring for us and we didn't enjoy a relaxing dinner as we hoped for. The view from the hotel was good and the hotel provides a shuttle bus. The hotel staff was very responsive, but they only responded in Japanese when communicating prior to check-in. In the hotel you can communicate in English.
The indoor onsen needs refurbishing. The corridor in the hotel smelled. The hotel is slightly outdated, but kept in a reasonable state. The fridge is unusable.
This hotel the feeling is not a traditional japanese hotel. The hotel is large enough to get around and can find a few things to do. The onsen is good in particular the outdoor which has a good view of the Gero township. Both dinner buffet & breakfast are good!
I booked non smoking room but when I get in there is still a heavy smell of smoking.
Clean and beautiful view from room
None of the staff can speak and English. Walls are very thin and had a very bad nights sleep because of noisy people next door.
