Cons: Small room No.9
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and knowledgable. They gave us recommendations of what to do and where to eat. Also we were treated to lots of home baked treats. There is a garden room which has a great coffee machine and lots of games and books and is a lovely place to relax and hide from the rain. In general I loved the decor of the place. Very cool and retro. The breakfast was fabulous. They had a lot of choice and each day there was a "special". Our room was lovely and clean.
Cons: It is a 10 or 15 minute walk to the town centre. Which was fine for us but may not please everyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sharon and Nigel were very friendly hosts - and keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We were there for three nights and had the Rod Stewart room. It was spacious with an amazing view looking out to the bay, with a glimpse of Pendennis Castle too. The room was very clean, the bed great, and the breakfast was scrumptious. We would highly recommend Chelsea House.

Pros: Central..... clean.... good food and lovely staff. Thoroughly recommend.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had two rooms - a standard Seaview and a deluxe Seaview with balcony. The deluxe room had a partly sloping ceiling but a much better view. The sea views are not sea front. The standard room view was across roof tops and partly obscured by a tree. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the bath (shower over bath) in the standard room was huge. The deluxe room had a shower without a bath. The rooms are well appointed and the property has been refurbished and opened this season for the first time, according to the owner. The owner and host, Liz, (not sure of correct spelling) was welcoming and helpful. The staff member we met was also friendly. Breakfast was good. We were able to park at the back of the property, but parking might be limited. The property is about 5 minutes’ plus walk downhill to the Falmouth town centre. Overall, a pleasant place to stay and good value.
Cons: There was no bar fridge, if that is relevant. It didn’t worry us. There are stairs to the upper floors, again only important if you have mobility problems. Water views are not waterfront, as mentioned above, and there is the downhill walk to the shops and restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very attentive and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, clean , nothing to dislike!
Cons: Absolutely spotless and Liz was so welcoming and friendly. Totally unobtrusive staff yet the place was always immaculate! Food great. Comfy bed and well designed room I will definitely be returning and 100% reccomend any one who wants to stay for the Falmouth area

Pros: The host gave us a warm welcome. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. It was lovely to be able to purchase on site a bottle of Coke and a cider after a long day on the road. Breakfast was delicious. Conversation was pleasant. Room was very clean and nicely appointed.

The Sandy Duck - Falmouth - Building
3
9.7 Excellent (132 reviews)
Overview Reviews
On a hill overlooking Falmouth Bay, boutique B&B The Sandy Duck combines sleek Scandinavian design with sea views and warm, home-from-home hospitality. Owner and manager Freyja earned her hosting stripes crewing aboard luxury yachts before she settled on the Cornish coast, transforming this Edwardian townhouse into a stylish, seven-room bolthole. Now, the interiors are painted in soothing shades and filled with a medley of modern Danish design, hand-picked antiques and artworks by her own family, creating rooms that are as inviting on a fresh January morning as they are on a hot summer’s day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is excellent. I particularly like the avocado and scrambled eggs on toast. Everything is fresh and of good quality. Room 1 is small, but comfortable, with an excellent shower, a window banquette, and a radio playing classical music upon our arrival. We love the Meraki toiletries in big pump bottles, and the thermos of cold milk on the coffee tray. There was plenty of room for our clothes in the wardrobe and dresser. The decor is lovely, both in the fresh, clean breakfast room, the cosy and warm living room and in the simple but stylish bedrooms. The best bit is the easy and friendly interaction with owner Freyja and her staff, all of whom are lovely.
Cons: We didn't have any problems. Any requests or comments were addressed immediately.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The sandy duck, is just lovely, room clean as a pin, breakfast choice outstanding, definitely be staying again. Freya and staff very friendly x
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything but in particular the friendliness of the staff, fabulous breakfast and comfort of the bed!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Probably the freshest, best-tasting breakfast I've ever had at a B&B. Beautiful clean room with a wonderful view of the sea over Falmouth. Truly beautiful B&B.
Cons: Rooms at the top would get pretty hot in the summer as we were roasting in late summer (granted the weather was warm) BUT the room has a good dyson fan to use :). Conversely, it would be so cosy in there in cold seasons!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: As frequent international travellers we have stated in a lot of hotels and apartments and this is one of the best places we've stayed. Everything is of the highest quality. From the furnishing to the excellent customer service by the owners. As it is apartment accommodation it feels like a luxurious ’home away from home’. As late risers we loved the generous breakfast basket that had everything that you can think of for a continental breakfast plus some eggs if you wanted to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Living space, bedroom and bathroom huge and super clean. Lovely huge fluffy towels and lovely bathroom amenities. All the mod-cons everywhere. Downstairs amazing honesty bar, outside area with BBQ and chill out/sunbathing areas and not forgetting the hot-tub. It's great for couples but also perfect for singles staying for business or pleasure. You can be as sociable or private as you choose with the owners and other guests. As you can probably tell by now we loved our stay. Thank you.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Tregenna Guest House in Falmouth, you'll be a 1-minute walk from The Lizard and 8 minutes by foot from National Maritime Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location, friendly check-in, good sized room and ensuite had large modern shower :-) and excellent breakfasts, little extras like sweets in lobby, snack biscuit bars etc. with complimetary tea/coffe in room are greatly appreciated, overall a nice relaxed place to stay
Cons: The bed ! The mattress on one side of bed was awful, sunk about 6" in the middle, ended up sleeping with head at bottom of bed and awful nights sleep, next night we swopped sides and other side was much better, I did raise my concerns about this and reply was 'it's only 2 years old' and after reading previous reviews this does seem to be a problem that you need to redress
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was fresh and clean and so many extra touches (Room 7) to make it special. The whole guest house was just lovely. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality is second to none. Clean and spacious rooms. Immaculate bathroom. Food is excellent, huge portions with plenty of choice. Well positioned for the town with lovely views of the harbour.
Cons: Loved everything, cannot fault this guest house, but would have liked a full length mirror somewhere. Possibly on the inside of the wardrobe door as the stay was for a wedding. Mirrors are provided but only from the waist up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They have an excellent breakfast and you can of course have what you want. The breakfast room has an excellent view to help you start the day with a smile. The rooms are very nice and have an on suite shower room. There is hanging space and drawers as well. You are literally 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from town. Very easy access to everything that is going on in Falmouth.
Cons: We are used to sleeping in a queen size bed and ours was a standard double so it took some getting used to. Could have some softer pillows. You get 2 so maybe one could be softer than the other?

It was our second stay and we will definitely be going again, the hotel is literally a stones throw from the beach and within walking distance of the town centre. Again the breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of jams, cereals, fruit and juices to accompany whatever you fancy from the menu. Pros: The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and the beds extremely comfy. The food was varied and delicious. Altogether a great experience
Cons: I can't think of anything
7.0 Good
Pros: The bathroom was modern and very clean. The bed was large and comfortable and the towels and bedding soft.
Cons: If you are a resident at the hotel you need to book for dining in the restaurant as it gets very busy. This was not explained to us at check in! Also, parts of the hotel were shabby and although the furniture in the rooms were modern and new, the walls of the hotel bedroom looked old and could do with updating. The wallpaper didn’t cover up the defects. Would have been nice if they had more info on the hotel and the famous guests ie Florence Nightingale.
6.0 Good
Pros: The Hotel was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Our room had a beautiful view.
Cons: The food at breakfast wasn't great. I tried 3 different things from the menu and each day they were a let down. There was an events room a few meters down from our room and they had booked a party for the Saturday night of our stay. It didn't bother us too much but the location of the events room isn't great in my opinion. £259 a night for B&B is way too much for this hotel.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good Location,
Cons: Rooms Very Noisy,Car Parking Poor,Cleanliness could have been better,Apart from the bar and restaurant the hotel was "tired"....stained carpets and smelled musty in several of the corridors.

Pros: Location by the sea and in a very quite area of Falmouth, staff were very polite and attentive. Enjoyed the swimming pool area and in the mornings a very hearty breakfast to set you for the day.
Cons: Our room was very small and the bed way too soft. (Mattress was so soft that when either of us moved in the night you felt it). Lastly not being able to lock your door from the inside, just a key for access in only no lock.

Pros: The lounge looking out to sea. It was very relaxing, the staff were excellent with my elderly mother and her dementia. The food is good value for money.

Pros: All the staff were very welcoming. our rooms were comfortable. the location is excellent.
Cons: We had planned to have dinner in the hotel but discovered on arrival that there is a jacket and tie dress code for men. I had checked on the hotel web site before our trip and didn't see any mention of this. it would be useful to include in your information. also we had planned to use the pool on sunday morning but it was closed for maintenance. if we had known we would have swum the night before. a little disappointing.

Pros: Downstairs facilities were excellent. Bars, restaurant, spa etc all wonderful.

5.8 Okay
Cons: Staff a bit unhelpful / surly but stay was adequate. 20 minutes wait for drinks a few times, room 28 right next to a whirring storeroom all night. No examples during stay of even attempting to go above and beyond and no mention before booking of building site opposite. Premier Inn with a spa.

A stay at The Falmouth Hotel places you in the heart of Falmouth, steps from The Lizard and 5 minutes by foot from Castle Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location good. Staff very helpful and professional. Breakfast good. Room clean and tidy.
Cons: Hotel tired and requires updating, rather faded grandeur. Our room on the 4th floor with a sea view, but only one small window. One of the three smallest rooms on this floor, although acceptable for one night, it would not be if staying longer. I do not believe this room to be worth the £135 charge even though it does have a sea view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, great location within Falmouth and excellent service and breakfast too
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We returned to where we spent our honeymoon 40 years ago and it didn’t let us down, a big thank you. I think the town has changed more than the hotel.
