Pros: Our room ,chambre verte was amazing with dual aspect , view of the sea and 3 large windows, also a fridge. It was bright, sunny and reasonably spacious with a huge double bed, super king size! The bathroom was perfect and even had a view of the sea! We were on the 2 nd floor and found our room to be very quiet. There is a terrace with tables and chairs just outside our room and also a sun terrace for relaxing on the 3 rd floor. The breakfast terrace is spectacular and a delicious Moroccan breakfast is served up every morning by Soufiane. The staff, Soufiane, Fatima and Latifa made us feel so welcome and pampered during our stay, even doing our laundry for no charge!

The staff was very kind and gave us good advices on where to dine and get drinks. The breakfast was delicious and served on enclosed terrace overlooking the ocean.

Cons: Very very large common rooms since it is a converted palace. It is also far to the medina but still the best choice to be away from tourist buses. By the way if you catch a taxi to the Médina from the hotel it should only cost 10 MAD - a coin, local currency. We were regularly overpaying!

Pros: Dar Latigeo is beautiful! It has a vary tasteful decoration. The personal is absolutely nice and ready to help 24hours. Here we had one of the best typical morrocan breakfasts, with the best marrocan bread we have tried so far (and we have been in Morroco for 1 month). We booked a room with shared bathroom, which was totally fine because you share it with only one other room. What you get for the price is way over our expectations! We recommend staying here 200%

Pros: I very much loved our stay at Dar Latigeo. The staff was welcoming and easily available. The bathroom was very clean, though the smell of the sewers cannot be avoided. Pros: The location is amazing, in the middle of the market. Staff very friendly offering tea and very large breakfast for cheap. Rooms are quite comfy and clean, even some good books in English to read at night, only that I didn't notice in the booking it said shared bathroom, which was a tad disappointing. Terrace also very large, nice to sit there at night. Overall very good value for money.

Pros: Excellent, friendly welcome to a fine, small, boutique hotel by new owner Adeline - nothing was too much trouble. Hotel very central, so better than two other hotels I have stayed in in Essaouira before and extremely good value indeed. Copious, varied breakfast - open to suggestions/ requests. Own keys so free to come and go. Could not fault the hotel or any aspect of its running at all and I shall certainly come agazin whenever I come here again, and, as it is a favopurite spot, that may be in a couple of months. Highly recommended. Thanks to Booking.com for finding it for me.

Pros: Breakfast and location was good.
Cons: The ensuite bathroom was two very steep flights of spiral stairs down, smelled very bad, was cramped and dirty. It wasn't fit for guests to use - made the bedroom smell. The room was over a noisy alley. I asked the host to change the room, who was understanding but I had to insist to achieve. The next day he asked me to move back to the first room, which I thought was a bit of a joke. The second room had a shared bathroom. Rooms could do with a good clean. I left a day early. Dining area is nice. I've travelled for 20 years - I think you can get much better value for money elsewhere.

Cons: No problems. It is not a luxurious hotel with all the services, but one comes to Essaouira for the city not for all-in-package sea side resort. My bathroom was outside the room.

Pros: The room was the most beautiful hotel room I've ever seen. It was just like living in a palace! Everything was clean and well-maintained, though some parts of the decor seem old, so it makes the vibe of the room even better.

Pros: The breakfast is good. The riad has good location right on the Medina.
Cons: We had 2 rooms, one family suite and one double room. Some of us changed riad after the first night. I guess not all rooms have this problem but in our room we had havey mold smell, the bed covers where moist and generally the room smelled bad. The carpet was old and smelly and the towels were old and looked dirty. When we talked to the manager she rejected all our claims about cleanningness by saying this is Essaouira wheater and there is nothing she can do and that the room is clean. Having said that, she did send two workers to clean the room with soap, brought new towels and spread perfume and candles around but I was not there anymore as two of us switched to a different riad.(we were 6ppl) Also, on a side note, I live by the ocean in a very humid city but I don't have mold in my house and we moved to a riad which is closer to the sea and also, not new but didn't had any problems. We slept in old riads during our whole trip.

Pros: The guy in the reception at night was really nice and friendly. The room was really nice, and was nicely set for us.
Cons: When we arrive the people next to us were offered tea and cookies and we weren't. Most important for us is that we booked a room with a terrace, and we expected a real terrace.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I don't know why the place garnered so good reviews. We stayed here for a night and was relieved it's nothing more. Firstly, the place was not clean, the sheets were damp most of the time, the rooms are dusty and the floors are dirty. Secondly, the ground staff do not really speak very good English and that makes communication tough. Thirdly, their service was not forth coming nor were the staff welcoming. We will definitely not return to this riad.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice clean room, friendly and helpful staff
Cons: It smells really bad everywhere 24/7 in the medina. I don’t mind the authenticity but was a bit too much.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were always very very helpful. Wonderful view from upstairs terrace. Excellent location. Clean rooms. Rooms were a good size.
Cons: Breakfast was a little inconsistent. One morning we had eggs, the next morning we did not. Charged for coffee in the lobby; not made clear at the time.

Pros: Proximity to the beach. Hot tub and swimming pool.
Cons: It’s clear money was invested into this property but it looks like corporate greed has taken over and little money is being invested to maintain this so called “5 star” hotel. The room was not clean. The bathroom was worse. Some people were snarky and unhelpful. We spent half the money in more busier parts of Morocco and hospitality and cleanliness was top class.

Cons: The restaurant has a magnificent view but the ambiance -lighting and decoration -is just too depressing for dinner. Pity . The TV was not working. We stayed there in windy November and its nice and cosy to be able to switch on a TV for half an hour in the evening. They tried to fix it but it seemed most of the hotels TV system was down. Wifi is also very slow.

Pros: It's the tallest building in the medina, besides the mosque, so the rooftop terrace has an amazing view. This is where we had breakfast each morning and the spread they provide is fantastic. It's easy to find from the port and great access to the Medina. We loved the room we booked with a nice sitting area downstairs and beds separated upstairs, we could really spread out. Also we loved the resident white cat that welcomed us on the evening terrace. Staff was great.

Pros: Location was ideal for exploring the medina.
Cons: Had to change rooms because bath tub wouldn’t keep the water in, including several attempts with different plugs. Original large room was cold, only provided with small heater which wasn’t enough to heat the space. Our top floor bedroom was better as smaller but quality was generally on the shabbier side. Breakfast was also very simple, buffet platters left out from 8am to 10am. Certain nationalities seemed to get more choice, fresh pancakes etc. Guests like ourselves were left to ask for simple things like more orange juice refilled and wait staff would barely acknowledge us.

Cons: The hotel next door has a band on the terrace at weekends - a bit noisy but they finished at 9:00 or 9:30 pm. Not the fault of our hotel, either!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It's the tallest building in the medina, besides the mosque, so the rooftop terrace has an amazing view. This is where we had breakfast each morning and the spread they provide is fantastic. It's easy to find from the port and great access to the Medina. We loved the room we booked with a nice sitting area downstairs and beds separated upstairs, we could really spread out. Also we loved the resident white cat that welcomed us on the evening terrace. Staff was great.
Cons: The beds are hard, but I came to find this the same at most places we stayed in Morocco. Otherwise it was a great experience and we'd love to go back!

Pros: Location was great and rooms were nice sized and courtyard and restaurant attractive.
Cons: Stayed on Christmas Eve and hotel had painfully loud live entertainment until 1:00am, forgetting that many guests actually check into hotels to sleep. Called front desk numerous times and no one answered the phone. Shut the music or the volume by 11pm. I’ll even suffer to midnight but beyond that I want my money back for not getting what I paid for; a nice nights sleep.

Pros: Hotel had organised a cake for my daughter's birthday which was a nice gesture. Large rooms.
Cons: Everything. The hotel is tired and in need of an upgrade and some care - but I guess this is reflected in the price. The hotel staff were rude with an attitude and not particularly helpful. The beds were uncomfortable and pillows disgracefully poor quality. Definitely not 5 stars, doubtful even 4 stars - it should be reassessed!

Cons: Dear Hotel Director :
While having my Lunch before my departure on 25/04/2018, I came down to reception and I told them that I would ordered my lunch at the bar, went to room grab my stuff which all was ready and come down to check out. As soon as I set down at a table at the bar a female who checked me out later called the bar to make sure i am at the bar and probably she thought I lied to her ( what an irresponsible disgusting business behavior of hers, shame on her, she made me and other things to never come back to Atlas and i will try Sofitel next time). I heard the female bartender telling her out loud and i quote her: “yes he is here and he requested lunch”. I stood up and told the bartender a man that I will leave to check out and come back to eat while my food is being prepared. I checked out immediately in 5 Mins and came back to the bar. While I was at my table I hear all kinds of rumors, mocking and loud noises from the piano area every now and then, complete disturbance of my lunch by the Le Seven manager and the bar staff. I ate so fast just to leave that bar. I demanded my check from a server who seemed just got in to the bar and he was quick to bring my check and i signed it with my credit card and i put cash tip on the table and left running away from a savage bar environment (sorry that was the feeling that bar gave me by its staff and manager).
I am not going to tolerate this and i will not recommencer your hotel if asked only, because of the horrific experience I had at your hotel .
It was not the first time I came to your hotel and I had good impression before I came this time. The facts I indicated above made a complete disappointment from some of your staff not all. As we say you have not only one bad apple there but couple.
Thank you for your time,
A.B

Pros: Riad Al Madina is a beautiful place with very centered location. The staff was very nice and helpful, always smiling. Nice authentic design.

Breakfast was very limited unless you liked eggs and then you could have a freshly made omelette, coffee too was ok. We asked for and were given towels for the beach which was helpful.
Cons: Room was very large but unclean ( many furnishings covered with material which is difficult at the best of times) badly laid out with windows from the main bedroom onto the living room! The large window that looked out from the main bedroom was 2inches short of closing which meant that the wind whistled through and we could hear the music from the roof bar very loudly. One of the bathrooms had a corner bath, it had holes and cracks in it which I suspect was the probable cause of the damp smell everywhere, especially in the cupboards! The gab rail and towel rail where not fixed to the wall. The second bathroom, the shower did not drain away which resulted in flooding the bedroom and a hideous smell of drains. We mentioned this to staff and when we returned the smell had reduced and the water had been cleared however after the next use of the shower the smell and flood returned.

Pros: Location
Cons: Nice large clean bedroom with sea view. Bathroom was dreadful. Totally outdated , tiles cracked, grouting discoloured, tap wouldn't turn off fully and couldn't close door . It's a shame as the location is perfect. Would say it was a lovely hotel 30 years ago but needs a total refurbishment.

Pros: The hotel is as described on the website. Just outside of Medina, large rooms, slightly outdated bathroom but also large. Room was clean, staff very friendly and breakfast was great (the earlier you come the more choice there is). Very close to the beach and the harbour too.
Cons: The main reason we chose the hotel and not a riad was the swimming pool. Unfortunately it wasn't heated. We still swam, but more because we made a bet than due to pleasure. One night there was loud music on the roof - not really an issue. they stopped by midnight
