9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy place, great location, awesome brekkie and a fabulous host. Terry you are a star ⭐️
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here on my first night in Scotland and it was (as the Host Terry would say) fantastic! It's close to the city center and has a private, large parking lot. The House also has a nice room with tables and a bar which everyone can use. The hosts like to have a chat with their guests and give you tips for your holiday (to Terry: i did the electric brae!). The Single Bedroom was quite small but that was ok for 1 night. The bathroom looked very new. The breakfast consist of a little buffet with cereals and everything else is cooked fresh depending on your joice (the guests fill out a form the day before).
Cons: The only thing that I could mention would be the large aspalted parking lot. I don't think that so many carparks are needed and even if so it would be possible to design that a bit more attractive.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was good, parking was easy enough. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious - served to order, fresh and hot. For us Bernadette was the icing on the cake, with a cherry on top. She was a fantastic host. She was attentive, very friendly and informative. Thank you for our stay we'll most definitely be in touch the next time we visit Dumfries.
Cons: Restaurants could serve food later than 8.30pm - we had a long drive from Oban and struggled to find somewhere to eat. This was nothing to do with Bernadette (she actually let us know early on into our trip) or our stay but something to consider in general.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thought the food was appalling Stayed in hotel for food on Saturday night and wished we had not bothered it was that bad Did not like breakfast either cheap sausage and bacon Went along to the Auldgirth Inn and had lovely food
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff are positive and helpful and certainly make you feel welcome. The dinning experience in the restaurant was very enjoyable and a very pleasant dining experience. The menu provided good options and also catered for gluten free.
Cons: The first room we were offered on the second floor and was exceptionally basic. Yes, it was clean but that is all I can say for it. The bathroom was old and tired with the evidence of mould / damp on the walls. Thankfully we were able to obtain a room change. The second room was a vast improvement having recently been renovated and was more in keeping with the promotional material. Critically no access and then very limited access to wifi. Many apologies about it being fix but no resolution. Wifi for international travellers is critical and in this day and age given what you pay for a room it is a service that should work.
7.0 Good
Pros: Food was excellent
Cons: Room a bit dated
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful breakfast
Cons: I'm actually involved within London's deluxe hospitality sector. I loved the setting and location, but overall, the hotel appeared sadly drab, dated and very 'tired'. Flowers on the dining tables would make a considerable difference, plus improved lighting, framed period wall hangings, instead of loose canvases and warmer period wallpapers/painting. The carpets are clearly being 'wet-cleaned' and appeared dull. The reception seating should be changed and restructured. Not very inviting.. The staff were wonderful
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, beautiful location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, chocolate box perfection Staff, warm and friendly Food, excellent Room, large and comfortable

Pros: Helpful friendly staff clean and super shower.
Cons: Wi-fi connection kept dropping
5.8 Okay
Pros: We liked the area with ample walking space. Old buildings to photograph. Town center nice as were the locals. Good restraunts. Robert Burns home near by.
Cons: Thought we booked room with breakfast, we didn't. Wanted £11 per person per day extra. We declined. King room don't have king bed only 2 singles together. Room never hoovered before or during our stay. Carpet covered in crumbs, window cill dirty and has dead bugs on it. Left curtains open and moved chairs away for cleaner to see. Came back, curtains closed, chairs put back, nothing cleaned or hoovered. Only beds made up. Tissue box in wash room empty. Box with poly bags put in front of every morning. No tissues given. Joining wall to outer wall cracked from roof to floor. Only really spoke to chap at reception on arrival, was not very pleasant. Nasty closer to his attitude. Never booked via IHG, this could by why he was unpleasant to talk to. Will not return here again at any time.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and value for money; good parking; good range of choices at breakfast (have rediscovered the joy of porridge, available on request); room and shower room were both very clean, with a generous range of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/decaff; hairdryer and kettle provided in room. The hotel/guest house doesn't have a restaurant but there are several good takeaways (Chinese, Italian, fish and chips) in easy walking distance, you're only a short walk from a good-sized supermarket and the town centre, and staff recommended a very good Italian restaurant for us (Brunos) which was literally just round the corner. There is also at least one pub nearby that serves food. Oh, and anyone travelling in wet/muddy weather as we were might like to know there's a laundry straight opposite (service washes only, weekdays only). The staff at Glenlossie/Caledonian were very good, helpful and welcoming without being over the top, and the check-in and check-out was very straightforward (this is done at the Caledonian Hotel right next door, which is where breakfast is also served). I just want to mention the location again - it was a short walk into town; on a bus route; and very close to the major routes north and south. We'd definitely stay here again, very happily.
Cons: Our satnav's directions! (But that's no reflection on the hotel.)

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wow!!! Best description when you drive through the gates. Ahead is a beautiful building. Inside doesn’t disappoint either with excellently furnished rooms in keeping with its age. The en-suites are huge and modern. The family who own the hotel are in the process of further developing the building, however pay them a visit you won’t be disappointed. Will return soon
Cons: Mattresses and pillows could be firmer
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really excellent & staff were lovely.. Room was lovely & comfortable. Would stay there again as overall a nice stay, good location & good value!
Cons: The kettle in the room was a bit dirty with scale in it - so was un-useable really.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast cooked to order, great choice, rooms clean and bathrooms spacious and well fitted , looked like recent upgrades . room clean, warm heat adjustable, and team/coffee complimentary on arrival. beautiful grounds if like to chill
Cons: mobile phone charger was only think that might be added to room utilities/
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely cooked breakfast. Room comfortable with nice bathroom. Staff very pleasant.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very large and comfortable room.
Cons: Internet is so slow that it is almost unusable. The location was disappointing insofar as there was no gardens to speak of where one might be able to go for a walk. The surrounding area was largely a building site. Food was horribly overpriced for the quality - £17.50 for steamed fish and boiled carrots/potatoes covered in cheap sweet chilli sauce straight out of the bottle was insulting really - my teenage son could prepare better food than that!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was definitely a 4 star
Cons: Bit of construction going on.

Pros: Clean and comfy bed, external private bathroom is good. The bathroom has both bathtub and shower booth. There’s only hand washing liquid, no shampoo (I’m ok with this). There’s a basin inside the room with a hand liquid soap and a hand towel. Tea, coffee, biscuit and kettle are in the room. Breakfast is included in the room rate. I didn’t see a hairdryer, found only an iron.
Cons: Wifi is not that strong; on and off many times.
