Cons: Having the room window from the side of the train rails, I could hear the trains passing by in the morning. I am fond of standing baths, and in this case was a bath tub with a Rain shower. Of course that's a taste matter.

Cons: Very noisy, especially on New Year’s Eve night, other guests were screaming, shouting, banging on doors and running up and down the halls until gone 3am. Not ideal when we had to be up at 6:30am for our flight home.

Cons: My window, facing north/front of the building, was directly aligned with a bright, glowing, changable copy billboard on the Futbol Museum just next door. The lighted, flashing sign was right in our face, and the drapes did little to block the light. One or two bars were directly below our 1st story room. People hung out, outside the bar, yelling and talking loudly til will past 4 am. And the hotel structure itself has thin walls and floors. You could hear everything happening next door and above our room. IT WAS LOUD. We got little or no sleep. It was the worst hotel stay I can recall, ever. I tend to view hotels as just a place to sleep between doing and seeing things, and thus am not very picky. I rarely complain, But this was awful.

Pros: Novum Hotel Dortmund is well-located right in the city center, 10 minute walk from Main Railway Station.
Cons: Staff was unprofessional promising early check-in in 1 hour time, then make us wait more than 2 hours and also rude when we asked how much we really have to wait after 2 false promises. Room equipment was basic. The most disturbing thing is that the hotel is situated right above a bar and next to the ambulance, so the noise was barely tolerable even with closed windows.

Pros: Check in and out quick and easy. Hotel in quite good location. Underground garage brilliant and good value at €13 per night.
Cons: Picture of hotel on booking.com very misleading. It looks like it has a large outdoor area with grass and trees and parking but non of this matches actual hotel. There is parking underground but the rest doesn’t match actual hotel at all.

Pros: Gorgeous lobby, very spacious room and bathroom with all the possible facilities. The carpet was beautiful, the beds were huge and comfortable, the desk as well.

Pros: Breakfast was complete, they had juice, coffee, and different types of things for on the bread. The room was a bit old fashion in the design but it was comfortable and clean. We were a bit annoyed by the noises of the toilet at night, but overall okay, Location was the best, few minutes walking distance from the train station and from the center of the city. nice restaurants in the area.

Pros: The location is excellent for exploring Dortmund, especially if you are arriving by train. The station is just a couple of minutes away as are tons of shops and restaurants. The room is spacious and nicely furnished. The breakfast is also very good. We would definitely stay here again.

Cons: Our room was in an area of the building that was a bit noisy at times. You could hear people partying outside but at a certain time it was over. We were a bit disturbed by the noises of the toilet (it was like recharging all the time) so we had to close the door of the toilet so we could sleep.

Cons: The only thing which we didn’t like was the fact that there is no WiFi in the room. I feel that’s a major lack in this day and age. WiFi was available in the lobby but the seating area there wasn’t so big.

Cons: They switched off the heating during the night. So it was cold. I slept with keeping all clothes on. There is no Wifi in the hotel rooms. If you sleep in front of McDonalds on the street, then it is just as cold as sleeping in the Carlton hotel. But at least you have Wifi.

Cons: Two major warnings for others. 1. No wifi anywhere. You can catch vodafone free wifi for 100mb but that's probably all you're gonna get. They say that wifi is available, but you can't even catch it in the lobby, let alone in your room. 2. No shower room anywhere in the building. If you want to shower during your stay, this is not your hotel.

Cons: Too soft mattress. Bathroom was very cold. Very old furnitures. I booked a modern room, but I got a very old room with cold bathroom. There was no WI-FI. Actually, it was maybe, but not in my room.
