Dortmund hotels in Cityring-West

Pros: The location was very good. Very close to the Tram Station. The staff at the Reception were very friendly. Parking was not a problem. Very close to the main Shopping area. The Rooms were very clean. The reception area was beautiful

Cons: I would have liked to have an Air conditioner in the room. We were there on a very hot day which is very unusual in Germany. When the windows were left open, it turned out to be too noisy with the traffic sounds.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff and good buffet breakfast.

Cons: Would benefit from air conditioned rooms.

Pros: The facilities were good. The entrance was stunning. Bed and seating were great. I loved the showers and the fish tanks in the lobby.

Cons: The car park has a very low roof.

Cons: The hotel is very outdated with pretty basic facilities, our room e208 was extremely hot and noisy, there was absolutely no fresh air or airflow in the room and opening the window was not an option due to super noisy main road. After spending a sleepless night at the hotel, I woke up with a massive headache and heavy chest. Moreover, the shower was broken and the sink was getting blocked. the bar was only opened for a few hours in the evening, the lady serving drinks was unprofessional plus she had her son with her ( sitting in the bar area) whilst she was working, the bar was only open til 9pm or so hence, it was impossible to buy anything to drink on that hot night! I do not understand how this hotel is 4*, I have stayed at the 2* hotels with much better facilities and service. I hope this helps. Many thanks, D Frei

Pros: I booked this hotel as a travel agent for clients of mine. Client said the hotel itself was beautiful. Rooms pretty basic.

Cons: My client is from South America and travelled with an African friend. Hotel staff gave them a hard time checking in even though they showed the confirmation email. Also they did not help them in any way with parking. We also booked this hotel because it was possible to book separated beds which is confirmed in the confirmation mail. Apparently this information got lost somehow booking over booking.com. So stuff told them it is not possible to get a different room with separated beds because they didn't booked it. When I called the reception complaining about it the lady on the phone said: "No problem, I will tell housekeeping and they will separate the beds." So I am wondering why this wasn't possible when those two black guests asked before?? Who also paid like any other guest for their room?! However, they never separated the bed even after my call and my client didn't get another room. Client said they didn't feel welcomed at any point at the hotel and feel it has to do with their skin color. I talked a long time with my client on the phone and listening carefully to everything he said I agree with his opinion. So I recommend any foreigners to stay away from this racist hotel. And even if there wasn't a racist issue here I recommend any person to stay away because this place apparently does not care about its guest and their needs or even their booked and payed requests. Periode. I feel bad I booked a room here for my clients.

Pros: Very clean shower was fantastic nice staff

Cons: In the room there was a bottle of water which you would think was free but upon checking out I was charged 6 Euros

Pros: In its favour it's well located on the ring road, just a 5 - 10 minute stroll to the centre of Dortmund.

Cons: Don't be fooled by the grand entrance! The rooms are basic - even though we paid extra for a "comfort double". Our room only had 1 small window, which looked out onto a flat roof and fire escape (and judging by the number of cigarette butts lying about, where the staff went for a crafty fag!) The shower curtain blocked the plug hole, so you had to drag it to one side or be flooded. The bath towels were thin and roughly the size of a flannel - the hand towels were postage stamp sized. The staff were efficient, but surly.

Cons: Stuff was not very friendly. No a/c.
