Ramada by Wyndham Des Moines Tropics Resort & Conference Ctr6.3/10 ratingout of 102 reviews · $65 avg price/ night
The stay was cheap, and they are pet friemdlu which were nice pluses. However, The building is run down, exposed electrical wires on building exterior, wholes in exterior stucco and the area around the building was not cleaned. We selected this place because we stayed here a couple of years ago and kids loved it. Not sure what happened since then, it’s really too bad. Note on pool hours: they display and have you sign a form with these pool hours. However the pool gets shut down 15 minutes earlier. A bit of a disappointment with already limited pool hours… and not customer focused.

PROS: Great, spacious comfortable room and a good selection for hot breakfast.CONS: Front desk is so hard to find, (especially in the dark during a storm) and the parking garage does not connect to the hotel. You have to exit the parking garage with all of your luggage outside and then enter the hotel through the inconspicuous lobby entrance (again, not easy in the rain at night with luggage and a dog). The staff was unhelpful; employees saw us struggling at the door, soaking wet. Stared at us for several seconds, blinked, and turned away. So frustrating after a very long day of driving.
