Inadequate parking but charged a premium
As always...the breakfast!
Forced valet that did not park vehicle in a covered garage but rather on a side street during a snow storm for a $25/night charge. I was told all about the city selling parking lot to private investor who is building a parking garage but that is not my problem. If you don't have acceptable parking options don't charge me a premium to park. Inadequate parking options just aren't acceptable and we'll look for another place to stay next time.
not very friendly
location was good, room was clean breakfast, as always at an Embassy, was excellent, especially great for kids.
Valet parking at a very high (for the market price) was the only parking option. Room was warm and musty, didn't cool well.
Highly recommend unless you want a nice restaurant
Greater location, rooms, and friendly staff.
The hotel bar and staff leave a lot to be desired!
Overall very good -- but a couple of annoying issu
Like most Embassy Suites, a very nice property, suites with plenty of room, great beds and bedding.
Very disappointed in a $10 daily charge for Wi-fi - even for Hilton Honors members (except the two highest levels). Considering other quality downtown Des Moines hotels priced similarly, but with free Wi-fi access, this is typically a difference-maker for us. Also annoying, if you miss the complimentary breakfast (finishes at 9 AM), you are charged $3 per cup of coffee -- again, unlike other similarly priced downtown Des Moines hotels. Not a deal-breaker, but still seems kind of ridiculous.
Room was a little dirty. Rooms need to be updated,
Complimentary drinks, snacks and great breakfast!
Great view, lovely space.
Cost: clearly had upped their rates because the bar exam was being offered in their building.
