Pros: I liked Davao, it is a large city with a lot to see and do. As an American visitor, I admit I got a lot of looks that made me uncomfortable, so I recommend you stay on your toes and be aware of your surroundings and use higher than normal precaution when moving around in the city. Still, most people are friendly and polite. The costs are very reasonable in Davao, (even in the SM Lanham Mall which is connected to the hotel), especially when compared to Manila. There are a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and great places to eat in Davao.One of my favorites was the Giardino Gelato stand at the mall. I ended up stopping by there every day while in Davao and trying a new flavor.

Pros: The restaurant staff was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have several food allergies and the sous chef went out of his way to point out foods I could and couldn't have, even preparing a few items for me that weren't offered on the buffet. My room was comfortable and quiet.

Cons: The room was small. No fridge, microwave, no phone to even call front desk. The room was very bare. I stayed 4 nights and one day they made the bed and didn't even change our towels. The air con wasn't even changeable. It was set either 17 or 19 degrees. So either too cold or too hot when you turn it off.

Pros: Staff was great, food was great, rooms and facility were luxurious. Pool was nice - rules were relaxed for kid hours specially when we were the only ones in the pool!

Pros: Everything. Great location. Great staff. Great value. Staff is very accommodating. When I was sick with flu and coughs I got a free room upgrade. Purchase the buffet with your reservation. Buffet is great. This hotel is the nicest of all four stars in Davao.
Cons: Lobby is too cold. The afternoon lobby buffet is a joke. Make it better. Keep up the good job.

Cons: Poor quality staff. They lost two orders for food and drinks and getting a bucket of ice delivered to the room was impossible. Very disappointed for a high end hotel. I will go somewhere cheaper next time because this Marco Polo isn't worth the extra money.
