pick up and drop off was very difficult very hard to find where we were supposed to go and staff was not helpful and could not be bothered to say two words to us. we also had a tail light go out halfway through our trip which did not make us feel very safe that the vehicle was checked over before we left.

The car itself.The fees and taxes portion of the original contract I paid for when I picked up the vehicle. Upon return of the vehicle I had to pay the same fees and taxes again. Also, how dare that you charge 15.00 for each toll on top of the state toll charges and the 15. each toll was alot more than each toll. I will never use thrifty again and will post negative reviews each and every place i can on a daily basis.

I am 6’3 235lbs and the seat was not particularly comfortable - had some kind of hip/lumbar support that was narrow (Nissan Sentra)). Other than that, car met all of my expectations. Thrifty was excellent.

Staff was excellent across the board. Car was clean and got excellent gas mileage.I understand that your prices are likely determined by supply, but the cost of this rental was more than 6x than any rental I've ever paid. Ever. I traveled for work in rental cars for over 10 years. I used the "manager's choice" option, thinking that with what I was paying that maybe I might have been offered something nice. I was not. In fact, I was offered a full-size for an extra $10 per day. Considering how much I was already paying, I wasn't interested in paying one cent more. The vehicle wasn't great. The drivetrain was loud and struggled. The cabin wasn't designed for the cell phone era; there was no where to rest your phone in a way so you could see it for navigation purposes. Speaking of, the console didn't offer any navigation features. The only way to get nav on the display was to physically connect your phone to the one and only USB port. I realize the car was made in 2018, but that wasn't long ago. Reconsider vehicles like this in your fleet.

The “manager’s special” turned out to be a pick up truck. I then had to pay an extra $10 per day for a medium size car. This car was the worst car I have ever rented. Dirty inside (including cigarette burn on driver’s seat), covered in scratches and dings, and then found it vibrated at over 60 mph and the clutch slipped. The car had nearly 40k miles and should not have been in service.

It’s tough to say what is good after a bad experience.The EZ-pass wasn’t working. No one could/would help me. I haven’t felt this cheated in a long time. I’m going to return to renting from enterprise. They are much better at problem resolution.

Good deal on Mini-Van, ended up with Tahoe which was just as goodThe model of the vehicle and the price.Wasn't clean. it wasn't terrible either, but we had to clean the inside of the windshield and there was some trash in the car.

Overall experience was good. We had not flown into the airport so trying to locate the pick up spot was a little stressful but the lady at the counter was very friendly. The car itself was clean but not in as good of shape as I am accustomed too. I will say I know cars are In high demand and there are limited workers cleaning them etc. again overall it was a good experience

This location was not very busy so things went very quickly.The vehicle I rented had clearly been smoked in by a previous renter (who --by the intensity of the odor --was likely a long-term renter). Rather than cleaning the rugs properly, an even nastier freshener was used, so I had to keep the windows open the whole time. The car also needed an alignment (highway vibration). The manager seemed appropriately concerned and gracious when I returned the vehicle so other than vehicle condition a good experience. .

The staff was very nice. The parking garage is NOT user friendly unless perhaps you are traveling by plane. I was dropped off by car at the front of the building. The elevator only goes to the third floor. Finally found a person who looked employed there, he informed me I was wrong. Then directed me to a different elevator that did indeed go to 4th floor. Did see Avis but did not see Budget except for a booth. Went over there who told me Budget is where Avis is. Would have liked some indication of where things are located so I did not have to wonder around a parking garage feeling lost.I would LOVE to see some simple hints for using each car. After multiple times "pushing" start button the dashboard finally said step on the brake while pushing start. Then I could not find how to open the gas tank. Moving the side mirrors. Opening the rear door on the SUV. All these modern updates are very nice, once you know how they function!. No user manual in glovebox. Even a simple laminated card somewhere would do nicely.

PVD has really screwed up the where and how you pick up rental cars, and the return placement is far from ideal. On the other hand the young lady whom I dealt with at the counter was OUTSTANDING. She was rocking two keyboards at one and making things happen. There are people who strive for absolute EXCELLENCE in what they do, and she is one of them!

Rental car pickup at PVD is offsite, and neither Kayak nor Google tell you that. Also, the Payless pickup area was not staffed, so someone from Hertz helped me. Once I had the car, it was great. The little Kia was super-clean and comfortable.

Just what I needed!Within minutes, all the details were outlined and my car was freshly washed and available. I love that we were able to secure a newer model car without paying for any upgrades. I will definitely consider Payless for my next Boston experience!

very poor customer serviceMy flight was cancelled, so I never got to RI. I called to cancel the car and was transferred more than 4 times and never got an answer to the question would I be charged for the rental. The web site listed the location of the rental pick up as the Providence Airport. However, it was NOT in the airport and I had to pay additional airport taxes. This was misleading.

Got to pick which car I wanted.Employee tried to upsell me with a better car for onlyv$19 more. Car rental return place should be specified by national - not their fault, but it was nearly impossible to find. Luckily there was a gas station open at 2 AM that I could ask where to return a rental car too. It was not at all clearly marked at the airport.

I arrived to pick up the car with enough room on my credit card to pay for it and then I was informed I needed to have an additional $200 available on the card in order to get the car. This was never disclosed to me. Luckily I was able to fix it on the spot otherwise the trip would have been ruined before it even started. Additionally after I got the rental documents I was informed there was no customer parking so I had to leave without the rental car go find a place to park my car and walk back to the facility to pick up the rental. After finally getting to the car the exterior was dirty but more concerning the interior clearly had not been wiped down at all. In this day in age of covid-19 that practice is unacceptable and irresponsible. I had to drive to my house before going where I needed to go so I could sanitize all the touch surfaces inside the car. Between having to walk back to the facility after finding parking and having to stop and clean the car I was behind on my schedule. The car itself performed as you would expect for a new vehicle with only 25,000 miles on it. The person behind the counter was polite and performed her job as you would expect.

The staff at the pick up in Rhode Island was excellent. During COVID seeing/interacting with others can be stressful and the space was exceptionally clean, and I feel like they are handing the pandemic with ease. I will not hesitate to do this rental again a few times while I am not flying.The car itself had previously had a smoker in it. Not much anyone can do about that, it clearly had been cleaned and aired out, but I could still smell it. Is renting a smoke free car an option?

Car was clean and drove well. Great gas mileage on vehicle. Staff was helpful and pick up and drop off were fast.If the staff didn't try to keep up-selling us on bigger or more expensive cars and features. Probably a required part of their job, but we just wanted to pick up the car we reserved and go. Staff was very friendly though.

The clerk at the counter in the airport could not have been more helpful in comparison to the clerk at the priority booth in the parking garage who could not have been any less helpful and had no interest in our referral to the advertised vehicle we had reserved. The second employee went out of her way to verify the details of a minivan we needed to rent to move some items. She was terrific.

Staff was friendly, helpful and proactive. Thumbs up for this crew working at this location.I understand about not letting people go inside due to pandemic issues. But please find a way to accommodate customers while waiting outside without having to be exposed to sun and rain. There must be a better way to operate. I also fell bad for these young staff working under these poor conditions. This is purely a top management responsibility.

I had a reservation for 6pm. I called to let them know I was on my way. They said we close at 6pm. I said how was I able to make a reservation for 6pm of you close at 6pm. He said "how far are you?" I will wait, When we got there we called, no answer and the door was locked.If he was nor planning on waiting for us then he should have said that on the phone and not made us waste or time.

Staff friendly, but incompetent. Lots of opportunity for training here.1) Have the vehicle ready for pickup at the appropriate time. Ours was dirty, and had less than 1/4 tank of gas. 2) Improve team communication. We reserved an SUV because we were 5 traveling together, and I communicated this to the Enterprise staff twice. They still got it wrong. I told them early on the morning of our rental when I called (per their request) to confirm the rental. I told them again when we called for pickup at 3:45 pm. They showed up in a sedan that held 4 (including their driver), so half of our party had to wait at the train station for another pickup. 3) VERY long delay at pickup due to issues #1 and #2. They offered to put gas in the car, and we agreed, thinking that the amount of gas in the car at that time wouldn't even get us out of town. But their gas run took 40+ minutes. Did they go all the way to the airport for it? As a result, instead of slipping out of town before rush hour, we had to drive into the heart of it. They should have warned us of the distance they had to travel for the gas, and the amount of time it would take. 4) No ice scraper in a vehicle, in the winter, in New England. Had to ask for that too.

TerribleNothingWe ordered online. Got the confirmation and then once we were in the Uber on the way to the pick up, Enterprise called to tell us they had no cars available. No care and out $25 for the Uber ride. I’ll never rent from Enterprise.

Reservation NightmareBooked a res at store near me agent said it was for another location, but was 2nd time that week it happened. Short on time we tried a different location, after confirming this other location had cars avail she transferred my res and I drove 30 mins out of my way. Sat in traffic got to other location only to find they had NO rentals avail. I booked this res a week prior. Store mgr said he'd find me a car, offered an upgrade (reserved full size). I was given a compact sport suv. This was, after sitting in their store for another 30 mins. Then after returning the car I was charged $44.00 more for returning 2 hours late due to traffic (I called ahead).
