Cons: Pick up experience was terrible. The counter person did everything in his power to upsell us, wasting valuable time. He then proceeded to attempt to down sell us by giving us a lesser valued car than what we had purchased. No one was available at the drop off site to help.

Best decision everPros: The value of renting a car vs getting a taxi or Uber. We were able to explore parts of Provence that would have been near impossible.Cons: Location was everything. We would not have been comfortable driving ourselves in a city like Paris.

Best Car Rental ExperiencePros: Incredibly friendly and competent service at the airport counter. Car was better than anticipated and was in beautiful condition- we had originally rented a sedan and they upgraded us to a Nissan QashQai (Nissan Rogue Sport) to accommodate our group's luggage, at no additional charge. Navigation was included for free, and they waived the cost of a backup driver added at the time of pickup

Unrecognizeable chargePros: Wasn't anything I particularly liked.Cons: I was charged car cost and sent bill. Two day later I received another bill for 70 euros for what was called "premium station". I emailed car rental company asking what the change was for I never got reply. Very poor way to treat your customers.

Pros: The staff was fine. See issue below...Cons: I had an approved confirmation for my reservation. When I got to the airport, I was told by the Budget staff that my account is blocked (This did not know why) and therefore, they can't rent the car per the reservation. I had to rent a car in other company which cost me double the price. Really Bad.

OverchargedPros: Generally liked the car (Renault Espace), but it is an experience. No visible dials, buttons, etc on the dash board. Definitely requires someone to show you how things work before driving away, but there was no one available to help.Cons: Arrived in Nice and they did not have the car I requested (Citroen C4 or similar). Said only car I could have was a van, in a different price category and that I would have to pay the difference in rates. Attendant said she was new and didn't have the ability to waive the extra cost. To me this is unacceptable and I would like to request a refund of the extra charges. At that moment, you are a prisoner, tired after the journey to get there, and with less will to fight. Drop off in Paris very difficult as drop offs, as I learned trough experience, are only in parking garages with no indication that Europcar have operations in them. Drove around for hours before finding Montparnasse.

Pros: The carCons: My scheduled pickup time was 11:00 am but our flight was early and ended up getting to the ticket counter at 9:30 am. They wouldn't issue me the car until 11:00 am so we had to sit there for an hour and a half waiting. There has to be a better way.

Cons: They wouldn't allow me to inspect the vehicle before. They said it was too dark. I came back, and there was a tiny scuff evaluated by a non-Hertz employee. I have outside insurance purchased, but I bet it's going to be a hassle.

Great location if staying in vieux Nice.Pros: Well staffed and easy to find. Car return was quick.Cons: Parking can be hard to find in the area. Once they come out and check the car they give you directions to park it in the lot, but trying to find parking on the street when you arrive is hard.

Upsell inscrupulousCons: Had a Mercedes lined up for $500 over four days and was told we could get a van for much less with much more room. Took 15 minutes to switch the reservation around, and only at the end was I told that it was almost $290 more, despite the agents assurance it would be less.

UnreliablePros: The car was fine.Cons: The car was made available via Herz. They did not recognize the rental as agreed , because it was with a different company (Dollar). They did not allow a 8pm dropp-off unless I bought their insurance (more than doubling the price). I had to pay for overnght parking and bring the car the next day. I bought insurance when booking the car, but Herz still had me sign liability for €15,000. In case of damage, I would be charged by Herz and would then have te try to claim crom the insurance. The resulting argument was a very unpleasant experience for my wife and daughter.

Difficult to find rental agencyCons: The rental car office was impossible to find. The signs are small and located on a side street. There wasn't information given to inform us of the exact location. We called Dollar several times before drop off to figure out exact location at Nice railway and no one answered. It took over an hour to locate and drop off the car and keys. Very poor experience for someone who rents cars frequently in the states. They don't walk through the car drop off with you to make sure everything is ok before you leave them the keys.

Car pickup was easy, returning was another storyPros: My car was ready for me when I arrived in Aix-en-Provence and it was in great shape. I was very happy with it.Cons: The return process was not so simple. The garage to return the car was difficult to find at the main train station in Nice, France. I had to circle around the train station several times. A little more information on the location of the rental garage would've been helpful.

Cons: I have paid 27 EUR insurance, but when I arrived at the Hertz Desk in Nice The lady asked me to pay an insurance, as for her, the one I paid is unexustant. Instead of paying 82 EUR for the total rent, I needed to 160 EUR in total which was above my budget

Pros: The staff was terrible. After being intentionally left behind by the shuttle driver, I could not reach the other staff because they simply would not answer the phone for 15 minutes. When they did answer, I was told they had no car for me even though I had an emailed confirmation of my reservation.Cons: Everything went wrong. The reservation was initially sent to me as being France when I had entered Florida as my destination. After I told the customer service agent to cancel France and reserve Orlando, Florida, I still received confirmation of a France rental that I did not want. When I arrived in Florida and showed my Ace Rental Florida confirmation to the shuttle driver, I was left out in the cold, dark night because he said he would not let me board the shuttle since I was not on his hand written list. He told me to call the office then drive away. Nobody would answer the phone for 15 minutes. When I finally got through they told me they had overbooked and there were no cars. They offered no assistance. I was stranded in the airport late at night and left to fend for myself.

Cons: 1. Pick-up process took 1.5 hour 2. Small car that didn't fit for 3 people and 3 bags 3. Gearbox failure even though the car had less than 1000 km millage 4. Double payment for the car (first via web-site to ACE, second at check-in to Rhodium). Luckily after several complains Rhodium paid me back.

Cons: It was not Ace. Some company goldcar rental. Horrible customer service, waited hour and a half for our turn. If you pay € 50 they can put you ahead of line. Then they threatened us for buying an additional insurance. They gave us a stick shift. Although I booked an automatic.

Marketed as ACE but GOLD Car at the counterCons: Charged me an upgrade for the same car i ordered and was pictured. Took over an hour to get the counter documents completed Poor English skills throughout the counter team NEVER use these people, one name or another!
