I asked for a full size car, was given a compact SUV, was told that was an upgrade. Negative, the Chevy Malibu I requested has more cubic square feet over all than that compact SUV. We had a wedding party for our daughter's wedding and wanted the space, but I could barely get our luggage in this compact, much less more people with room.10.0 Wonderful

The car was out of California with summer highway tires...not suitable for winter driving in Montana where we have snow and ice. A car with these kind of tires should never be rented in Montana in the winter. The low-tire warning light was on...2 tires were under inflated. This should have been fixed before renting the car. The wiper blades needed changing for they would not clear the windshield adequately.Budget

Quick and easy to understand instructions for rentals. Very informative. Beth showed us the car we would be using, so that we wouldn’t get confused and she also offered the best choice for us, since there are some age restrictions. This was at Glacier National Airport in Kalispell, MT. Made the reservation with Avis because the value was reasonable and they were open at 8 AM when I needed to pick up the car and make it to an appointment. Arrived at 8 AM and two people at the counter, neither of which could rent me the car because they did not work the front desk. They said the person was running late and would be in shortly. Thirty minutes later, the front desk person was still not there. Could not wait any longer so I went to Budget and they had just what I needed and for the same price. Pros:
at drop off, I explained that the gas tank was FULL. After reviewing the bill before boarding my flight, I discovered that I was charged for the cost of $97 for fuel. I had to go back to the agent (behind the security) and she corrected it. I find this annoying as it is a basic component of checking out a rental car. The staff was incredibly helpful and to-the-point. He did not try to sell me any add-ons or unneeded extras, and got us in and out very quickly. The car was top-notch (I don’t think a Chrysler 300 fits in the “compact” category that we paid for, but we certainly didn’t complain) and drove very well.Cons:
