The shuttle is gray and orange with the names of several rental companies on the side. (Wasn’t looking for a van with multiple companies on it) The instructions In The email said to call a number provided in order to get instructions for pick up. That is not needed. The email should say go to the shuttle area right outside of baggage claim to the left and approximately how often the shuttle picks up. I had no problems but it was confusing. Also a checklist of things that will be required at the rental desk would be helpful. I had no problems but I saw sever other customers that were not prepared and not only were they frustrated it did hold up the line. Driver’s license Insurance info (I think a lot of people missed this step) Credit card (not debit card) Confirmation number Resort or hotel address. (People were looking that up at the counter. Slowing the process) I had a great experience but these are the things that might help.

Be very wary of all the potholes. Also the lines in the road are not very well defined and drivers like to change lanes or make turns without blinkers. If you take a wrong turn there's a good chance you're going to be on a very rough road with little chance to turn around. I never felt unsafe driving there just needed to be ultra cautious

Driving in Carolina or anywhere in Puerto Rico is like anywhere else. Pay attention. I try to stay in the middle lanes. Seems like the right lanes have more pot holes. If you need to get over or change lanes, aggressive is accepted behavior. If you wait for someone to let you in, you'll most likely miss your turn.

Go elsewhere. Prices at the rental agencies near the airport seemed higher online but we’re probably pretty comparable after all was settled. And easier pickup without waiting for a shuttle. Maybe this is common knowledge, but have personal/credit card insurance coverage ready to show

Go early in the day if at all possible. Around 7-9am, there’s practically no one in line for picking cars up, nor dropping them off. The later in the you go, the more time you add to your pickup.

Tell Avis & Budget is the same Company. I had a little problem to get my rental car under Budget parking lot, later my car rental car was under Avis parkings. Just a little fine tune, so we had this cleared.

Waiting 2 hours to pick up the car, even though had a reservation. One hour in line to get to the desk to show my reservation. Of course they didn’t have the vehicle I rented or similar vehicle. Got something different. Ok, still served our purpose. Went outside to get the car and saw that there was at least 40 people waiting for their car. Not exaggerating, there might have been more. Waited another hour outside in the heat with two small kids and nowhere to sit. The experience was mind boggling. It was an expensive rental and the car was given to us muddy and sandy—-even though I waiting an hour for the car be presumably cleaned to be given to me. Upon return, they said I would receive my receipt via email. I’m still waiting. I have no way of confirming that what I was charged is accurate, it’s more than the estimate. Don’t have much hope in being helped by calling. What a terrible experience.

This place is a scam! Stay away! Supposed to put a $250 hold on credit card but instead charges $250 with other hidden charges and you will never get it back. Wish I checked the ratings and reviews before renting from this fraud company.

They added on numerous charges so that the promised charge which was $57 on Kayak came out to $140 in reality and that was without any insurance coverage. The charges were absurd like $20 processing fee. They did not deliver the car that we asked for instead it was much higher fuel usage. The car itself had 3 roaches inside . One in the glove compartment one in a plastic bag we found under the passenger seat and another in the trunk. We will not be using this service ever again

Good staff, easy pick up and drop off. The van was not good. Dirt every where, we left a glass with a little juice and in a couple of hours appears with 2 cockroaches. I had to drive below 50mph, the wheels weren’t balance so the van moved constantly. They told me they give me a 2024 Kia, but when I got in inmedietly realice it was a lie because the van had 45000 miles. Something impossible in 2 months.

We waited for 40 minutes for a shuttle to pick us up from the airport, but it never arrived. We ended up taking a shuttle from Dollar rental and walking from there. The car was clean, functioned well, but had no wiper fluid.

Hands down the rudest and worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. The girl running the desk was over 1 hour late and I had to get the hotel front desk to call her cell phone for her to actually show up. After this, she couldn’t figure out how to unlock one of her own companies cars so I sat there for another hour wasting more time. When I asked her what was going on she dismissed me and continued speaking in Spanish to her colleague. At the end of the day I wasted 2.5 hours of my morning and ended up going to Enterprise where the same process took 10 minutes.

The lines outside the Pick up window was about 85 people deep and there were only 2 Customer Service agents. Each agent took about 20-25 mins per customer. At that rate, my number would have come the next day. Also, your employees were very rude and unhelpful despite my status. After waiting for 1 hour, we left in frustration and hailed an Uber to our destination. Shameful. I regret ever signing up with you guys. Worst experience. The people in this location do not really seem to care about the customer or their work. Zero motivation, Zero interest. They're doing their jobs only 'coz of a paycheck. These lazy and toxic employees will sink your company because they are the ones controlling your customer service experience. There is a reason Puerto Rico is in such a deep decline.

Unclear pricing. It is not the price advertised. They wanted to charge me a full insurance, making it as expensive as most rental. Save your money and rent with some of the bigger companies if you have to.

Pickup was extremely long. It look over an hour to get our car. The process for rental is very slow and frustrating as there were people standing around with luggage everywhere. Also, the mandatory insurance was not appreciated . This was not clear during the reservation on Kayak. The premium is far exaggerated and unfair for international travellers. They are basically charging a half year worth premium for a short term rental . It almost seems illegal The car itself was very nice and clean

Staff was super nice, answered all my questions and the car I was given exceeded my expectations. Only thing is that at time of pickup, even though I had booked online, I was charged more in person for a deposit, autoexpress, and insurance. Something that could have been charged online as well.

Great check in, tough to find but was able to get ahold of someone who sent a van to pick us up. The car was basic and ran fine, def got the job done. What was disappointing was not being told about a cleaning fee, if we knew this in advance we could have easily vacuumed as the car, as the car wasn’t really dirty at all but could have used a vacuum, the charge was originally quoted as $100 but once the other individual checked the charge was $50. Again, a cleaning fee is fine but should have been communicated before taking the car for the week. Everything else was fine, the insurance coverage is very expensive.

I don’t think I can say enough good things about this car rental company. They were so helpful and so accommodating. Our flights got delayed and they coordinated with us to help us get our vehicles after business hours. I am truly grateful that we were able to work with this company, and when we come to San Juan next time, we will be getting our vehicles from them!

Sixt gave us a car with an extremely loud engine, something off with transmission. They car had multiple dings which they tried to pass off as from us (but my mom took her own photos at the beginning). They also tried to tack on over $500 in additional coverages that I had already declined and tried to force my family to add them despite having coverage in place, and they added everything wrong and over charged us. Still working on a final resolution and worried about having the authorizations released. They claimed we lost the manual and registration which were in the car as well. I checked before I got out.

The experience started badly, but then was corrected by a manager named Edgar. He was very gracious and professional. He quickly corrected the problem. As per their staff in general, many of them were rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I will honestly say that specific manager named Edgar (Edgardo) is the best asset Sixt has.

These people are scammers! They initially gave us a bill for over $500 for a 5 day rental. Then once the bill was scrutinized they took off $200. Then a new receipt still showed up charges. I would not use them again as they were not transparent and tried scanning us

Getting the car was very fast and easy! The staff was friendly and very helpful. I was disappointed to learn about the drop off process after closing (only 6pm) when I picked up the car. having to essentially pay for parking at the airport because there is no designated drop off was not factored into my budget for the rental, especially since I was given no advanced notice of this. It seemed like a really backwards procedure for 2024. but everything else was very smooth!

I wasn’t able to get the car. Tried to cancel within an hour but was told I couldn’t. Even went to their office (which they said was AT the airport but was not) to rent the car and after waiting for a very long time in line I was left waiting by the attendant who called me and then left his post without warning, Finally the other attendant called me but would not accept my insurance without written proof so I left without the car, My husband was in an intensive care unit and I couldn’t wait any longer.

Horrible car was dirty nasty loaded with roaches. Return the car immediately the next day not even sorry still charged me the day and way xtra fees totally a ripoff. I m going to put videos up with roaches so people don’t ever rent a car there

There was no help for the 1 person trying to clean and get cars for people and no communication. We waited almost 2 hours at 1 in the morning to get a car. Nothing was clean, they did not even look at all the damage the car had they gave us so we took video at pick up. Probably worse experience I have ever had with any type of rental

Rent-A-Wreck is a dubious company. First, they lied on their listing by stating they're located 'in Terminal' on their Kayak profile. They are an off-site location requiring a shuttle. Secondly, they promote a base rent amount inclusive of taxes, which makes it seem that it's the final price. Upon arriving at the rental location, the reservation price triples when they add approximately 13 additional charges, and the employees claim they cannot be removed. Finally, the place is significantly understaffed, the staff who are there don't care about being efficient or expeditious about getting clients into a vehicle, and the cars that they do bring out are in a mediocre state of cleanliness. I think that Kayak and Expedia need to take a hard look at this company.
