8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and historic character, managers very accomodating for my later arrival
Cons: Breakfast featured self-served mostly prepackaged items; expected a good home prepared B&B breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice looking, room quite attractive and grounds nice looking. Staff did excellent job of orientation BUT, see below.
Cons: Thought the breakfast was totally lacking for a couple of reasons. First, it was not a prepared breakfast and to their credit it was not advertised as such. It was presented as a Continental Breakfast. So what was wrong? Almost everything was packaged product and so wasteful with the mound of trash that was generated from our simple eats. The coffee was from a Keurig machine. We absolutely hate these things as they create a large amount of unrecyclable trash. Everything except breads were factory wrapped in cellophane or plastic wrappers. Fresh product from a local bakery and real coffee would have been a major improvement.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute CLEANEST room we've ever been in (I even strip the sheets to check the mattress when staying at a hotel, not one thing to fret about!!) Included hot breakfast was very good, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, muffins, make your own waffle and more. Bed was the MOST comfortable bed I've ever slept in (better than ours at home). Staff was helpful and super friendly. I even forgot shampoo for our trip, and the shower had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers for your convenience. Restaurants were walkable from the hotel (Red lobster, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees)...Not one single complaint!
Cons: (This is a positive really!!) They offer an included free dinner (with three alcoholic drinks as well) per night...we never made it back to the hotel each night to enjoy that, but that's not their fault--we were just too busy during our stay!! We did make it back one night as they were wrapping up, everything looked delicious!!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good experience that met our expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was clean and seemingly brand new. It is walking distance from several things, and just a short drive from Champaign’s downtown district.
Cons: While the location of the actual front door is mildly confusing, it was not that big of a deal.
6.7 Good
Cons: While changing in my room with the shade down but still see through, 2 men in a construction lift came by our window and could clearly see in. So that was an embarrassing invasion of privacy. We were not warned of construction or that someone might be able to see into our room or we would have closed the blinds completely. Also there is not hot tub like in pictures.

Overview Reviews
Hotel is located only 10 minutes from the University of Illinois. Free continental plus breakfast. Free high speed wireless internet. All rooms include in-room coffee maker, hair dryers, iron and ironing board. Heated pool, whirlpool, exercise room and business center and free USA Today.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very large room and clear room with 2 double beds. Free parking. Fitness and pool present. Complementary coffee/thee 24/7
Cons: Overall disappointed by price/quality ratio. For example: unfriendliness of staff, a simple smile upon checkin (explanation was rattled off) or at breakfast could do wonders. The airco unit had some buttons for fan/temp settings but basically it was on or off. Basic breakfast buffet choice and at 9.30 the staff is taking over for their break, also resulted in a half cleaned bathroom with their products and cleaning rag left behind although we left the 'don't disturb' sign. For 3 nights we payed $610. The hotel is located quite north of Champaign University and difficult to reach without car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: I did not like how the cleaning staff would try to push the laundry cart while actively on a cell phone call. It was more than once. One young lady had the elevator tied up trying to maneuver the cart, keep the elevator open while trying to converse.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent and no complaints. The staff was very very nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff outstanding!!
Cons: Place a bit outdated
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Price for first night at a country inn was way to high
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff made my stay a five star trip. I was able to check in early and be accommodated in a way that made me feel special and at home.
Cons: No
7.5 Good
Pros: The room and hotel was clean and comfortable, from the temperature to the way everything was made. Check in and out were very easy, and it was clear that while I reserved the room through a third party site, the hotel was ready and expected me.
Cons: The breakfast that comes with the room is typical of 3 star hotels, which don't have anything that I can have. This one in particular looked sparse. I walked in and out within two minutes and got breakfast elsewhere. I would love some consideration for cleaner foods that seem to be the trend these days, and they don't have to be expensive or gourmet. On the front desk: the late evening person and the morning person behind the desk were great with good, professional attitudes, eye contact, and a smile. The afternoon person that checked us in looked like she didn't want to be there. She was helpful, and she wasn't rude, but you know when someone wants to be there and when someone doesn't.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Me n my kids couldnt even enjoy the pool because other guests where letting they kids do whatever.
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff...Fabulous
Cons: Mattresses very lumpy

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff at front desk was awesome!
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff I met were very helpful, cheerful and chatty. The kitchen area is stocked with dishes, the AC worked beautifully, despite it being Feburary (I like to sleep in a cold room), and there were plenty of pillows in varying densities and lovely, soft extra blankets. Plenty of hot water, nice shower head, ideal water pressure. There's an Espresso Royal ~400' away and a Walgreens next door.
Cons: The elevator was out (the doors were being painted? And I couldn't find a person or sign to direct me to a working elevator -- probably because we checked in at 11pm -- so we just kept walking until we found one. The walls are a bit thin in this place, the windows do not open and I wish I'd gotten a room with a tub instead of a shower, but that's not a big deal for a one-night stay.

Pros: Excellent customer service.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: My so had his 14th birthday part at the hotel so he, had a couple friends come and swim, pool was ok he enjoyed himself, only downfall was there was alot of kids jumping in and out causing alot of water to build up on the walk way almost fell a couple times, conversation area was excellent was a great place to gather with friends for food and cake.
Cons: The first lady was checking in was very polite, but I say maybe a couple hours later, her coworker that came in was a different story, I overheard her making rude comments about why would I let my kids walk through the lobby with wet feet now she had to mop it up, I went to the lobby to ask if there was any towels, it's his birthday he was a little excited so he run out without out properly drying off, she could have politely asked my son to go back to the pool area or wait on the carpet, not make rude comments under her breath, but like I said in my previous comment there was a lot of water built up so you were going to track water no matter what, but I'm not going to give a bad review for one rude employee

Cons: It was disgustingly dirty. We moved 4 times due to dirty sheets and floors. The carpets were not vacuumed - there was food and hair all over the floor. The bed side tables were dirty and had glass rings and finger prints all over them. sheets had hair
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: At check in, we were given keys to a room where some one else was staying. The key worked & we saw the other guests clothing & personal items and left. Our bathroom was gross, you could see dirt/grime on the floors. The pool was also dirty & had no towels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything- would definitely stay here again
Cons: Can't think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service. Good breakfast. Room layout was very comfortable. Hotel was very clean.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good and the facility was excellent. The room is laid out nicely and a great addition is the smart TV that lets you use your accounts like Netflix while traveling.
Cons: The only thing that was not as good was the pool. For some reason maybe the exhaust fan was broken but the enclosed pool was way too hot. I couldn't even stay there with my daughter. She still swam and I went outside into the courtyard. Other parents also thought it was hot. The door was propped open but that was not enough. I never heard why or if they tried to fix it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was outstanding! Room was fantastic!!
Cons: No not at all

5.0 Okay
Pros: It was near the shopping mall.
Cons: We stayed 2 nights and our room wasn't cleaned after the first night. We had to call for new towels and after a long wait, they brought them but didn't remove the old ones. We also paid for the breakfast option but there was no breakfast offered. The staff didn't seem that interested in resolving these issues. Also the image on the tv kept freezing and was limited for movies, etc. This felt more like an $80/night hotel, not the $150 we paid.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Sweet rolls were available at Breakfast. It was quiet. Help at front dead about a place to eat. Nice TV.
Cons: The pool was cold and the whirlpool was not working. This is why we choose Wingate! Breakfast had no potatoes at 8:30 and not many choices of hot food. We were VERY far from elevators and stairs, way down on the end of a long corridor. The beds were very soft. The air control fan blew too much on Low, so I had to alternate between Low and Off whenever we we in the room. There was hair on my pillows, and on the bathroom floor.

Cons: We had to call at 5:15 PM to get our room made up, only to be told all housekeeping was gone for the day. The front desk clerk had to make up the room. The breakfast was mediocre. We paid $199 for Saturday for a crummy hotel.

7.5 Good
Pros: Very quick check in - staff were nice
Cons: The property ran out of coffee and silverware. Felt bad for kitchen worker she was getting a bunch of grief for and I asked if she couldn’t go out and buy supplies she said no. This was something her manager had to do and of course manager was off for holiday weekend. Not very acceptable at 7 in morning on a weekend when people expect coffee to get day started.
7.1 Good
Pros: Everything thing else was okay.
Cons: The tub/shower wall was in need of repair. Not really a huge deal just something noticeable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It was clean and comfortable beds were clean soft but firm pillows were down filled and they gave you 4 ! not two or three and breakfast was perfect and hot, all for a decent price !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: Hard to find off the highway
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very professional, freindly yet super efficient, busy dads weekend yet still served with a smile and eye contact. Lemon water was fantastic touch, traveling and hotels can be dehydrating, your hands are full, water bottles are in the car or room, so that was a simple yet thoughtful and kind touch.
Cons: Breakfast shut down is abrupt, understand savings on soft costs, but the room rates are inflated for dads weekend, so a more gentle or soft slower shut down would extend positive reviews. Plus the hotel is solid, quiet rooms, nicely decorated, great curb appeal despite off highway, just in need of bathroom up dates, that's all.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean and updated
Cons: Bed mattress was old and sagged to the middle.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was quiet and the staff was helpful.
Cons: The bathroom needed some work and the toilet ran very slow
5.4 Okay
Pros: Vegan sausage.
Cons: Ticking noise from near by made sleep difficult. Not sure if heating system or electrical. Check in staff was nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: staff....staff....
Cons: small rooms
7.1 Good
Cons: No staff when we walked in left my robe in the room the staff said it wasnt there
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is great for easy off and on while traveling. It is close to dining and shopping. The staff was helpful.
Cons: Although clean, the facility is in need of an upgrade. I didn't expect such a "tired" appearance for the price and rating.
7.9 Good
Pros: Easy to get to off highway. Good location to get to main Neil Street and other convenience items. The lobby decor was beautiful and the lemon water was a nice refreshing drink after driving.
Cons: The elevators were very slow for just 3 floors. Plus the hot tub was out of order-erggh. Ice only on the main floor was inconvenient. Most hotels at least offer a nice cookie or treat upon arrival.

Cons: Was a little anxious of the area when i read the signs posted all over "Not responsible if your car is broken into". WHAT?!?!?!
4.6 Okay
Cons: Tv didn't work, took someone over an hour to figure out what the problem was. Also the smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling by the wires, plus the price of the room was way over what was quoted on the booking site. Plus I got a "no show" email from your org yesterday. I am absolutely NOT paying for another night.

4.6 Okay
Pros: Mmmmm is a room.
Cons: They had no plates forks or coffee maker in room or hair dryer. When asked they said is at office. WHAT. There breakfast is a granola bar and coffee. This is not what I wanted. Just a room and bathroom is all your getting. For the money go to a cheaper hotel. Parking is not good if you have a trailer either. Would not go back. There are plenty of there’s there.
6.7 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, good pillows and HOT water.
Cons: No coffee pot in the room. I know you could get one at the front desk but after a long day, it's just unnecessary hassle. Thought the desk person could have been a little friendlier especially when my key wouldn't work. Just not very personable.

Pros: Decent value for the room, it was quiet, area seemed fairly safe, it was clean.

Cons: N/A
4.6 Okay
Pros: It was inexpensive and had free parking. The man who checked me in at 1:00 am was very nice and helpful. I was looking forward to a 12pm checkout instead of the standard 11.
Cons: My room smelled a bit musty and there were stains on the box springs. The bed cover was one of those old polyester multicolor things, and there was a hole in the blanket underneath. No coffee maker or fridge in the room. No TV guide. Wi-fi was so weak as to be nonexistent. The housekeeper knocked on my door at 11:50 a.m. and I told her I would be leaving soon. The manager came at 11:56 and asked if I intended to stay another day as it was 12:02 according to his watch. He said "they" make him do that, but I haven't experienced that at any other Microtel. According to my phone, the TV, and my car when I got to it, it was not yet 12 when he told me to leave. He and the other desk clerk were having a loud argument when I walked out of the lobby.

Pros: Not much
Cons: Price, room very small, breakfast area very small, not really clean throughout.
6.7 Good
Pros: coffee available all the time was nice.

Cons: Low water pressure in bathroom sink, noisy shower.
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was the most minimal I have ever encountered
Cons: They could have at least offered a dry cereal. Also, the cleaning staff was occupying the dining area with take out and the smell in the lobby was off-putting. They were all eating during the peak registration time
