Pros: Clean and comfortable.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff members were extremely professional and courteous.
Cons: The door and wall of my room to the hallway were thin, so I was able to hear several conversations of passersby during my one-night stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s contemporary decor, location, cleanliness, and friendly staff met, and exceeded, my expectations. The continental breakfast spread was nicely laid out. I LOVED Houlihan’s! The fact that all we had to do was walk down to the lobby to dine at Houlihan’s is a huge plus! The food and Houlihan’s staff were awesome!
Cons: There is nothing that could’ve been better. I had an awesome experience during my hotel stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super clean & comfortable room. It also equips wide range of amenities and machines, including a coffee machine and even Alexa! A wide desk and these equipment makes you concentrated in your work.
Cons: Restaurants and bars other than in this hotel locate a bit far from here. The bar will be closed at 11pm.

Champaign Garden Inn - Champaign - Building

9.4 Excellent (79 reviews)

Located in Champaign, Champaign Garden Inn is in the historical district, within a 5-minute drive of Marketplace and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere. We just wanted to relax. We were able to sit on the porch and drink coffee in the morning and just relax.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the personal attention. Even in leaving, they followed us around so we could take memorable pictures of the beautiful garden and house with US in it...........so kind, and we have lifelong memories. Fabulous place!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and historic character, managers very accomodating for my later arrival
Cons: Breakfast featured self-served mostly prepackaged items; expected a good home prepared B&B breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice looking, room quite attractive and grounds nice looking. Staff did excellent job of orientation BUT, see below.
Cons: Thought the breakfast was totally lacking for a couple of reasons. First, it was not a prepared breakfast and to their credit it was not advertised as such. It was presented as a Continental Breakfast. So what was wrong? Almost everything was packaged product and so wasteful with the mound of trash that was generated from our simple eats. The coffee was from a Keurig machine. We absolutely hate these things as they create a large amount of unrecyclable trash. Everything except breads were factory wrapped in cellophane or plastic wrappers. Fresh product from a local bakery and real coffee would have been a major improvement.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, garden, the room... It was a perfect place for my purpose
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome bed, great TV (can watch Netflix, can log in to Hulu, lot of cable channels in HD), beautiful house, and the innkeepers are super nice.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Great place but noise from upstairs guest who was up at 4am woke us up. So you have to be ok with some noise from creaky floors and people walking back and forth.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Doesn't feel like a hotel, feels just like home! - Friendly owners - Located in quiet area - historic look - 24x7 breakfast room! - wifi printing - well maintained bathroom and accessories

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, nice room, great breakfast
Cons: Coffee maker was broken
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, modern hotel. Great room with comfortable bed and sitting area. Nice, contemporary feel. Really terrific staff. Perfect location in the center of town near restaurants, etc. I recommend it highly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location in Champaign. It is within walking distance of great restaurants.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The service, amenities, and room were all great! The suite we stayed in was nicely appointed with a fridge and pull out couch. My kids enjoyed swimming in the small heated indoor pool, which we had all to ourselves. The hot breakfast was the nicest free hotel breakfast I have ever had, with fresh French toast, egg sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, and other essentisls. A very nice staff person even gave my kids a package of M & Ms! This hotel is essentially brand new and very nice!
Cons: I was disappointed to have to pay extra for parking in Champaign (!), but the room rate was low enough that parking didn't break the bank.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The Hyatt place in Champaign was great and met the reputation of the other Hyatt places I've stayed in. I love the location getting to see and enjoy what downtown has to offer. If you are staying on the weekend be sure to park for free at the Hill St. Parking deck just a block away.
Cons: I arrived for the breakfast at 9:54. Most hotels give you a free minutes of leeway, but this particular location, or staff member, was rushing to get the food put up. The oatmeal and the drinks (juices, milk and water) were all put up already. I've worked for many years in food service and I was taught you aren't closed until closing time. Other than that, which wasn't a big deal, our stay was lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and great location to lots of eats!
Cons: Wish the gym had at least 1 more bike, it was always occupied.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The room design was excellent. The location was great and it was very secure.
Cons: Was on the only floor with no ice maker. Guest rooftop access would've put it a another slight notch.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are large, neat and well appointed. Staff is super friendly. Breakfast is well done, a cut above normal hotel breakfast. Had a salad and soup Christmas night when NOTHING was open, and it was well priced and tasty.
Cons: Charge for parking. No hot tub.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a lovely place to stay!

7.1 Good
Pros: The staff I met were very helpful, cheerful and chatty. The kitchen area is stocked with dishes, the AC worked beautifully, despite it being Feburary (I like to sleep in a cold room), and there were plenty of pillows in varying densities and lovely, soft extra blankets. Plenty of hot water, nice shower head, ideal water pressure. There's an Espresso Royal ~400' away and a Walgreens next door.
Cons: The elevator was out (the doors were being painted? And I couldn't find a person or sign to direct me to a working elevator -- probably because we checked in at 11pm -- so we just kept walking until we found one. The walls are a bit thin in this place, the windows do not open and I wish I'd gotten a room with a tub instead of a shower, but that's not a big deal for a one-night stay.

Cons: The first lady was checking in was very polite, but I say maybe a couple hours later, her coworker that came in was a different story, I overheard her making rude comments about why would I let my kids walk through the lobby with wet feet now she had to mop it up, I went to the lobby to ask if there was any towels, it's his birthday he was a little excited so he run out without out properly drying off, she could have politely asked my son to go back to the pool area or wait on the carpet, not make rude comments under her breath, but like I said in my previous comment there was a lot of water built up so you were going to track water no matter what, but I'm not going to give a bad review for one rude employee
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast the offer is better then some. Very nice place to stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Love the clean modern room with kitchenette. The kitchen came stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils and detergent-perfect! Great for quick meal after a long drive instead of a fast food restaurant. Just brought some frozen food from home and warmed up in the kitchen. The bathroom was bright, freshly updated and clean!
Cons: Didn’t have extra pillows and had minimal staff.

Cons: I didn’t like my blind daye
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were great.
Cons: Price for a single night was outrageous
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: It was disgustingly dirty. We moved 4 times due to dirty sheets and floors. The carpets were not vacuumed - there was food and hair all over the floor. The bed side tables were dirty and had glass rings and finger prints all over them. sheets had hair
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: At check in, we were given keys to a room where some one else was staying. The key worked & we saw the other guests clothing & personal items and left. Our bathroom was gross, you could see dirt/grime on the floors. The pool was also dirty & had no towels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything- would definitely stay here again
Cons: Can't think of anything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good and the facility was excellent. The room is laid out nicely and a great addition is the smart TV that lets you use your accounts like Netflix while traveling.
Cons: The only thing that was not as good was the pool. For some reason maybe the exhaust fan was broken but the enclosed pool was way too hot. I couldn't even stay there with my daughter. She still swam and I went outside into the courtyard. Other parents also thought it was hot. The door was propped open but that was not enough. I never heard why or if they tried to fix it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was outstanding! Room was fantastic!!
Cons: No not at all

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff (GM) was very kind and friendly.
Cons: Front desk clerk would not approve me checking out an hour later without a $10 charge.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hot and cold breakfast. Well attended. Comfortable breakfast room. Rooms were nice and modern. Liked the composite flooring, felt cleaner than standard carpet.
Cons: The hot tub was out if commission, and there was crime scene tape around it which was not inviting in the space. While the pool was fine, the hot tub scene kinda killed the atmosphere and we didn’t swim. This hotel is under construction in areas, and there was a musty/mildew smell near those areas/wings hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: I was in a handicapped room. For some reason it was at the very end of a long hall. The shower wasn't very strong.
1.0 Poor
Cons: The first two rooms that they gave us had not had the sheets changed from the prior guests. There was hair on the pillowsand on the sheets!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and easy to get to.
Cons: The parking was very limited.
7.0 Good
Cons: The key system is terrible. Very inconsistent and leaves you standing outside trying again and again to get in. Very frustrating. Funny how a little thing like that can ruin an otherwise good stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was clean, staff was pleasant, and was just as described on the site. We didn't experience any issues with our room.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Had issues with my room door, which resulted in the maid staff not realising they left my door open all day. Attempted to talk with management and still have not heard back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast host was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Cons: The construction noises. The settling of the building noises at all times of the night
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Need new pillows
5.0 Okay
Pros: The rooms and hotel are beautiful for the price especially. This was our second time staying here and it's always been clean.
Cons: We were very disappointed in breakfast. We were told it was 6:30-9:30, however when we arrived at the breakfast area at 9 am, there was virtually nothing left. The waffle mix dispenser was broken, no juice left, and the attendant was cleaning up.
6.0 Good
Pros: Price was decent and the ratings were good. Bed was decent. Breakfast was good.
Cons: It was undergoing some updates, hallway carpet looked pretty new but pretty heavily stained. Had to change rooms because the toilet wouldn't flush all of the time. But the room switch was painless.

Cons: I dont think the sheets had been cleaned,
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Our king room was huge - two big rooms and a walk-in closet big enough to sleep in. Desk staff was friendly and super cheerful. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom floor felt sticky - ironic since the housekeeping staff left cleaning supplies in our bathroom both nights.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pet friendly ,good staff, decent breakfast and good location. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Cons: Long way to the ice machine, perhaps one more in the 2nd building would be a plus.
7.1 Good
Pros: Everywhere else in the room was clean and tidy. The location is good, near restaurants, the mall, and other places (not too far from campus). The room sizes aren't bad for like 1 or 2 people. The price is pretty good.
Cons: The bathroom wasn't as clean as I thought it would be. It wasn't horrible, but I noticed things here and there. The one female front desk worker also seemed to have a slight sharp tone when communicating with clientele. It wasn't horrible or anything, but a positive attitude when doing customer service is very important. I also gave it a lower score in facilities because the place seems like it needs a good cleaning and some work done. When I walked into the lobby there was a bucket in the middle of the floor collecting water that was coming from the ceiling.
6.0 Good
Pros: Friendly desk staff, they were helpful and accommodating
Cons: The hotel met expectations
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: Had to change rooms first one smelled really musty. Toilet wasn't flushing as well as should. We have stayed here at least 3 other times but feel like quality is going down.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Convenient to eating establishments. Clean enough.
Cons: Needs a quality renovation - very dated. Few choices with continental breakfast. Only hot thing is make-your-own waffles. Heat setting in room blows loud.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: The heater/air conditioning system was so loud that after I woke up once around 4:30 am to use the bathroom, I could not get back to sleep. I don't know if this is the same in all the rooms or not, but I would certainly hope this will be improved for the sake of others in the future. Other things were as I expected, but when you can't sleep, it colors everything else! I am blessed to usually sleep very well -- I will continue to do so! Blessings to you all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and the continental breakfast was very cute
8.3 Excellent
Pros: DIDNT HAVE BREAKFAST ENDED TOO SOON
Cons: THEY WOKE US UP ABOUT 6AM YELLING AND WORKING LIKE CONSTRUCTION...AND THEN THEY SPRAYED SOMETHING AWFUL AND THEN WE COULD NOT SLEEP LONGER THEN I WANTED TOO..
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean & close to everything I needed.
Cons: No
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the breakfast. It had what I needed especially the waffle maker.
Cons: U of I Dads weekend higher prices but compared to other location this is where you want to be.

Pros: Facility was great for the price! The room is a great size. We had a double queen. And the pool was perfect for the one night we stayed. The front desk staff was very pleaser to work with.
Cons: Rooms were clean but the bathrooms are a tight fit.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: the Room had a musty old smoke odor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great for our needs. 3 adults, 6 kids!
Cons: If we could have had one room, a suite, which we had, but had to get extra room to accommodate fire code when we all could have been comfortable in the one room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Provided myself and a friend non-pet rooms which was great! Good bed and great pillows
Cons: Bathroom fixtures especially tub/shower a little cheesy but I expected that for the star level.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was inexpensive. Perfect location. Friendly staff.
Cons: Was a little anxious of the area when i read the signs posted all over "Not responsible if your car is broken into". WHAT?!?!?!
4.6 Okay
Cons: Tv didn't work, took someone over an hour to figure out what the problem was. Also the smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling by the wires, plus the price of the room was way over what was quoted on the booking site. Plus I got a "no show" email from your org yesterday. I am absolutely NOT paying for another night.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Free breakfast, free parking.
Cons: Would never book again. This "hotel" smells very smokey and stale. First room I received had a window that did not lock and was accessible from the ground. Did not feel safe so asked for a room on 2nd floor. Received a room that smelled worse and had bugs
7.5 Good
Pros: Firm matress , slept well
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very conscientious of our needs and very helpful whenever we had a question.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast--eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, pastries. Beds were comfortable. Heated pool was like bath (see below).
Cons: There was a comment that hot tub was under renovation--NO hot tub, but pool warm. Desk staff said never was hot tub, but there was obvious signs that one was taken out. Pool area full of wet towels tossed about and no dry towels available. We got some from desk which were very small and very stiff!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, friendly staff
Cons: Not enough parking
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and quiet.

5.8 Okay
Pros: We stayed to visit my daughter at school. Per usual, prices were tripled during that time. It was at least convenient and close to campus.
Cons: Outdated, cheap college dorm furniture. There was a lot of things in the room that need repairing- torn curtains, rust in the doorframe. Overall, it is just shabby and old.
6.0 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The decor needs to be updated. The entrance to hotel needs to be spruced up and windows and doors need to be cleaned daily. The trash cans in the breakfast area need to be cleaned. I did not see a breakfast attendant. Breakfast was just average.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its on perfect location for the university visit. Great service and people.
Cons: N/A
1.0 Poor
Pros: Breakfast was good. A variety of items. Near U of I so location is good. The person at the front desk took $37.50 off of my bill when she was told about the problems with the room.
Cons: There were two dehumidifiers in the room and the room had a strong smell of something like bleach, chlorine or cleaning product. The smell gave us headaches and the dehumidifiers were noisy. Hotel was filled because it was Dad's weekend at U of I so we wouldn't be able to switch rooms. Keep in mind that the hotel room cost was $ 280.00 for one night (price was so high because of Dad's weekend...which is NOT right) When I complained the front desk worker only took $37.50 off of my bill. I felt it should have been at least 1/2 off. Then as I was turning in the keys, a MOUSE was walking around in the front desk area feet from the food area!!! I told the front desk person and she came around the counter and tried to get it out the front doors. I could not have gotten out of there quicker!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything really
6.3 Good
Cons: The bed and especially the pillows were terrible
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: There were pajamas from the previous guest left in the pull-out couch, kind of gross. Saw a mouse in the lobby. Elevator light out.
4.2 Okay
Pros: A place to sleep during travel for family emergency
Cons: Smell in elevator, hall and room not good! Walls in bathroom dirty, bathtub stained brown due to water deposits. Breakfast was terrible, omelette with low quality cheese sauce, broken warm tray for hard biscuits covered with paper towels, under cooked sausage links that I was afraid to eat
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: The first room they gave us was dirty, the bed was messy like someone had been in it. There was a dirty washcloth on the sink. The second room was better but not real clean.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location was good for the event we were in town attending.
Cons: The hotel was OLD, dingy and run down. Our bathroom had a bad smell when we first came in - like a nursing home smell. The free breakfast was typical but the eggs were cold. Staff was not very friendly/not around. Would not stay here again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The price was reasonable and the room was fairly clean. The breakfast was substantial, more than just juice and doughnuts.
Cons: The window lock was broken in my first room, but staff arranged for me to have another room without a problem.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location close to campus
Cons: Fuel fumes were present when the fan was on in bathroom

4.6 Okay
Pros: Mmmmm is a room.
Cons: They had no plates forks or coffee maker in room or hair dryer. When asked they said is at office. WHAT. There breakfast is a granola bar and coffee. This is not what I wanted. Just a room and bathroom is all your getting. For the money go to a cheaper hotel. Parking is not good if you have a trailer either. Would not go back. There are plenty of there’s there.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: I paid for a hotel room at Rate Extended Stay America - Champaign - Urbana in Champaign though I never even received accommodations. Security spoke to me from a speaker stating I was unable to check in.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly, property was clean.
Cons: Interior finish materials very low grade. Looks to be newer build or remodel but materials already starting to deteriorate. Mattress was TERRIBLE. Neither of us were able to get comfortable nights sleep. We don’t travel much but over a dozen or more hotel visits over 20 some years for tournaments or family functions- worst mattress, least comfortable stay. Not all rooms have micro or fridge, you need to request one when checking in. None have coffee maker in room. Over priced for amenities or lack of. Small rooms only one chair to sit. Explains the “Micro” in Microtel.
