Eco Hostel - Catania - Bedroom
2
9.4 Excellent (95 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Catania (Old Town), Eco Hostel is within a 10-minute walk of Catania Cathedral and Elephant Fountain. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: nice breakfast, friendly staff, location close to historic center and bus station.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staffs are friendly The biggest bed I have ever used in hostels. Great breakfast and common area. Clean room and location.
Cons: So first of all, we arrived at the hostel around 2 but since check-in time was 3, we walked around the city and came back around 5. But when we came, the staff said THE ROOM IS NOT READY(what?). The staff said 30-60mins so we said we will wait bit it actually took about 80mins. Secondly, the arranged beds were not in the same condition with the other beds. The main reason I chose this hostel was due to the curtain to have some privacy. But apparently, here were only two beds without the curtains which were ours. Also it was right under the windows which was not horizontally cut so we had less room than other beds. Besides, the windows did not have a curtain to shut the sunshine so we had to become an early bird. And some beds had safe box next to the bed ambut some didnt. There were only one closet and one drawer for 8 people. ** So I looked up booking.com and for some dates the beds we used were priced little less than others. But some of the days it just shows the room(not the specific unfair bed). And Im pretty sure we didnt pay less(might a little for booking early, not for the use of specific bed).So when u are unlucky, you will be using beds not as good as others, paying the same. Also, the rooms are all in second floor but bathrooms and toilets are on the first. So if you want to use toilets at midnight, you have to take the key with u and go downstairs. Of course when you want to take a shower, you have to bring everything and go on a journey to the bathroom. Lastly, the reception staff’s english wasnt good enough. She gave us false information. She firstly said like “its a female dorm so dont forget to always lock the door”. So even though we originally knew its a mix dorm but since she said , we expected only female in the room. But when we came back, found a bunch of guys(which some more privacy became more important but apparently we didnt have).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I received a great welcome and tips. The guys gave me a cigarette even. The design is cool and the bathrooms are well equipped. The room was big and pretty clean. The breakfast was really nice, good juices, cheese etc. The lady serving it is also very hospitable. Overall, it is a cool place and I am happy to have started my journey in Sicily with Eco. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere after a long journey.
Cons: The booking process: I saw that the price included all taxes and charges, and on arrival was asked to pay the city tax. Also, the whole issue with room categories and number of beds is somehow misleading. And the bathroom is not in the room, it is next to reception.
10.0 Excellent

Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B Massimo Centro, you'll be centrally located in Catania, steps from Via Etnea and 11 minutes by foot from Catania Cathedral. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The B&B is very centrally located. That is all the positive thing I can say about it.
Cons: 1. The owner changed the address of the facility but never informed us. It took us (both sixty plus) almost two hours with two large suitcases to find the B&B facility. The actual B&B where he made us stay was named differently (B&B Catania Etna) and was located at a different address (via Etnea, 198) than the address provided through 'booking.com'. A photo of the property front is attached here. 2. The owner does not accept any credit cards for payments. 3. The room was stuffy and the a/c didn't work properly.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, breakfast was okay, nice room and view.
Cons: Wrong adress on the booking so we had problems with finding the b&b.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet room tucked off the busy street. Hosts were excellent when flight was severely delayed and waited up until very late at night for our check in. Spacious and comfortable room.
Cons: Bathroom was a little bit dirty/mouldy. Bath/shower didn't drain very well.
7.5 Good
Pros: You get good value for money. The room is very small. There is no coffee corner. Breakfast at a nearby coffee shop, coffe and croissant only. Excellent location. Small room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr. Carmelo and his brother with the staff Christian were very helpful and nice. The location of B&B is more than perfect ( city centre) . With all my heart we recomend this accomodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of the host. Carmelo was very welcoming.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the location is great and the owners very friendly and helpfull
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The breakfast could be better.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Lovely room in an old Palacio but with modern facilities. For breakfast you get a voucher to use in a v nice cafe 50 meters away. . Coffee, juice, brioche.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located a block away from the University square!! Book this B&B and you will not be disappointed!!! Our group stayed in 3 of the four rooms available. Each room can comfortably fit 5 people and maybe 6 if one person uses the foldable cot. The rooms are like a “loft style”. If you have small children just make sure they don’t climb the stairs to the upper part of your room. Bathroom is clean. There is a refrigerator but make sure it’s plugged in as they don’t plug it in 24/7 to save energy. Check in was easy even if we arrived in the evening. Beds are firm but still comfortable. Parking is on the street - we had problems with this but our host accommodated to help us! Food options and restaurants are just a few steps away. Fun fact: Bellini, the music composer, worked in this building!!! Our host told us this fact... Very cool!
Cons: There’s no elevator so if you have big luggages, you’d have to bring it up 3 flights of stairs.. the B&B is located on the 2nd floor.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: Parking was difficult
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Carmelo greeted us and helped carry our suitcases up the stairs. It is on the 2nd floor. He was so lovely and welcoming. I stayed with my husband and 6 year old son and we felt the room was big enough. It had double windows that block out any street noise. It is in the best location with everything right outside your door. The room was so clean! It was absolutely spotless. I was so impressed because I am O.C.D! Not a spec of dust to be seen. Breakfast was good. Got a pastry, juice and coffee per person and it is at a cafe just down stairs in the square. Would highly recommend and if we are ever in Catania again we will be back for sure!! Thank you Carmelo
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is in the ideal spot exactly in the heart of Catania; very close to all shops and amenities. The host Carmelo was very nice, available at all times and very efficient. Room was clean and tidy with daily cleaning routines. Christian was very gentle and assisted us when we needed. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, and noise reduction windows extremely efficient. The bar for which we received vouchers for breakfast was excellent (delicious pastries and good coffee).
Cons: We found the bed and pillows extremely hard and uncomfortable. I had back-ache after 2 nights. There is a coffee machine in the entrance, for which capsules need to be bought at reception. This was not indicated, and it was lucky I noticed the machine and asked at check-in. Guests should be informed of this option at check-in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great owners, very friendly and dedicated to the guests. You can count on them in every matter. Super breakfast, great location. Greetings for the owners. Next time in Catania we would stay at your B&B for sure!
Cons: Everything was great!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location between the city center and the train/bus station, near to an airport bus stop. Rich breakfast buffet in a spacious terrace. The single room was spacious with a great bathroom. Rosario was very kind and helpfull.
Cons: Very old building although with a special character. The matress was a bit uncomfortable. The cleanliness needs something more.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Nice little family B$B run by two friendly and helpful guys. Really nice place for the price--flat screen, air conditioning, everything brand new. Breakfast was great--in a surprisingly ornate room covered in frescoes. Centrally located. Highly recommended.
Cons: I stayed in one of the attic rooms, which had a giant head-bumping beam at about 5'9". Wi-Fi was pretty iffy, although they did their best to get it working.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic b&b, with a great host who couldn’t do enough for us. Five minutes walk from the railway station and one minute from the centre.
Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Around 10 mins walking from the main bus/train stop from where all buses go. Inside the b&b area everything seems to be very nice and cosy, good internet connection, lovely and helpful staff.
Cons: The neighborhood is not really clean, pretty dirty even the building itself is not looking very nice, but once you get inside, you feel like you re in a different place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really helpfull, room was good decorated and new when you consider with the building age. Breakfast was really good. Short walk distance to train station.
Cons: The surrounding area was not that great :) also the building is too old and no elevators.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host Christian was charming, and took the time to tell us some very interesting history about Catania in general and the b and b in particular. The room was very large, and although modern, had a high decorated ceiling that made one feel as though sleeping in a palace. The breakfast was wonderful!
Cons: The exterior of the building and stairway to the b&b are in very poor condition and the street outside reflects the poverty of parts of Sicily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host who was most accommodating. Excellent breakfast. Although B&B was on the 3rd floor, the steps leading up were very wide for hauling up the luggage. The beautiful paintings on the ceiling were a nice touch to the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very nice, they waited for us because we were late. Room looked new and was clean, breakfast was absolutely OK. Hotel is located close to the downtown, just few minutes walk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The guys who work there are very nice, breakfast is super ok, the rooms nicely renovated, cleaning done daily, if the building itself would be eventually renovated it would be lovely. Not the fanciest neighbourhood indeed, the other buildings need a bit of renovating as well, but the people seem ok, we've had no incidents . :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable modern rooms
Cons: Probably not suitable for children
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excelent! Very helpful Room was very nice, clean and quiet. Location is good, 10 minutes walking to the historial center. 7 minutes from the central station if you are coming with the bus from the airport.
Cons: Surroudings and the building are a little bit odd. Felt some kind of insecurity there. Better if you go with people and not walk during the night. But, Catania is decadent and most of the neighborhoods are the same, so no need to worry in excess as is just a perception and nothing really happens.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place and big room. Perfect experience
7.0 Good
Pros: very good location.
Cons: i had asked in advance if it was a problem when we arrive at 1am because our plane arrived late and was told it was no problem. when we arrived we were asked to pay 14€ "city tax" by the receptionist. we saw online that city tax was only 1 to 1,50€ per person, so we didn't want to pay it, because we weren't told about that in advance. the receptionist was very insistant and then called someone (the owner?) because his english was better, who said the 10 euro were an extra fee for our late check in and only the 4 euro was city tax. but that there was a problem with the water so we could talk about that in the morning. in the morning someone had texted me on whatsapp if everything was ok. at the reception they again wanted the money from us and then we again talked on the phone and were told we only had to pay the 4 euro because of the problem with the water (that was leeking out of underneath the shower). after we had left he asked me to leave a 10 point review here, which unfortunatly i cannot. long story short: if you charge for late check in, please put that on your website + inform your guests about it before they arrive, espically if they ask you if a late arrival is a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff messaged me everyday to see if everything is oki
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, kind host, cleanliness
Cons: Noise from the street

Cons: The beds are not very good: one was to hard en the twinbed was to old: my husband has pain in his back as result of this bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful lady, Antonella. When in Italy I try to speak some Italian - I am a guest - but Antonella spoke such good English, I gave up! The flat was comfortable, clean, and the bedroom was nice and light, when the curtains were drawn, with a high vaulted ceiling. The flat opened out onto a substantial courtyard which was a real treat. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Wi-fi. A real problem. It worked well in the courtyard, but in the flat - forget it

Cons: Pillows were horrible!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: We had a hard time finding parking but we eventually found a spot
5.5 Okay
Pros: Friendly host. Clean room. Near airport. Great pizzeria Vicolo at 500 meters, giant pizzas (1 is enough for 2 persons!), very good.
Cons: B&B is simple but sufficient for 1 night, not more. Bed is just a few wooden pallets with matrass. Very simple breakfast.Catania center is a disaster, heavy chaotic traffic, not clean, very narrow streets. B&B difficult to find. Free parking between 20-8.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely kind helpful hosts. Excellent breakfast. Good value for money. We found street parking outside easily. The hosts explained how to pay for the parking.
Cons: The walls are super thin so first might a Sunday was very noisy. Next two nights it was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and the staff very kind people! Our stay was very nice!
Cons: Everything was great!
8.0 Excellent
Cons: There was no free public parking in the neighborhood.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is good, 10 minutes walk from the main street in Catania with lots of shops, restaurants and bars.
Cons: When I reserved the apartment it was noted that the check in time ends at 9 pm, however what was not noted anywhere was that the later check in after 9 is additional 15 euros! I was informed about this later in an email although the booking was not refundable otherwise for more than 60 euro for a night I would have stayed in a hotel. [ I wrote the check in time during the booking and I received an email 2 days later ] The pillows were really really hard and we had trouble sleeping whole night. Although it is written that there is a free parking, if you arrive with an evening flight as us, you wont be able to find one because it is a public parking on a street.
7.0 Good
Pros: The receptionists were all friendly and ready to answer any questions, including giving advice on where to spend the day. The place is clean and the rooms are a good size.
Cons: There is practically no sound proofing so it can be loud, depending on how many people are in the b&b at the same time. It's also quite far from the centre on foot, and even further from the train and main bus station.

8.8 Excellent (871 reviews)

9.5 Excellent
Cons: It was too noisy in the early morning. There was noise from the nearby building
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We wanted a nice place that was fairly close to bus/train stations as we intended touring a bit. The hotel was perfect for this, BUT, it is a leisurely 15 minute walk to Etnea Street and city centre. We throughly enjoyed our stay there - would have been great if there'd been a plunge pool/jacuzzi in the relaxing area to cool off in the heat.
Cons: As stated, a plunge pool or jacuzzi in relaxing area would have been fantastic. Staff were great, breakfast super and it just had a good safe vibe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing experience overall! Modern design of the rooms, really nice breakfast and the staff really friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely stay there again if I go back to Catania.
Cons: If you have a car, there is no parking space provided but that was not a problem in our case.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. All the hotel, the staff, the room, the breakfast. Everything was amazing and beautiful! We would love to stay more time to really enjoy the place.
Cons: Lack of parking but that's all
7.5 Good
Pros: The English speaking staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but thin walls so depending on what room you have it can be quite noisy. Hotel is easy to reach from the airport via Bus, the stop is just around the corner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly helpful staff. Very convenient location for trains and buses. Loving the decor!
Cons: Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom? (But they were available in the reception so not really a problem)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is near the central bus and train stations, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast is good. It is very lovely decorated and the room we were in was on two floors. The bed, tv and a mini bar are upstairs.
Cons: The bathroom needs good cleaning because of the scale in the shower, but everything else was (looked) clean. They change your towels even though you didn’t leave them on the floor. The pillow was very hard, but that is just my feeling.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the staff and the room was great
Cons: More salted choices on breakfast.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The place way perfect - close to city centre and very close to transportation (train, bus, taxi). The staff was perfect - kind and helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and specious. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the facility.
Cons: The breakfast was quite poor in our opinion. The staff served literally five (!) slices of ham for breakfast. It was too little for such a big hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast could be a bit better and more differential.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine, we had a good stay here. :-) The staff is very polite and helpful, the rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast is acceptable. You can park your car for free in the nearby streets, as long as you keep of the places marked with blue lines.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing to like here .shambles not worth a single cent or penny
Cons: Staff were rude very very noisy hotel....ruin our trip
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, that answers questions by e-mail very quick. It is REALLY 24-hours reception. To my luck they let me to leave my bag at early morning and then to check in at the evening. Room was really clean. Hot water has really hot. Wi-fi was fast. Breakfast was ok: kind of meat, cheese, jam, nutella, croissants, some kind of bread, corn flakes, juces, coffe, tea. I liked it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location fairly close to train and bus stations (walking distance), and close to great restaurants. Good value for money. Large room.
Cons: A little noisy from guests internally.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Kind of cleaning service every day. Good towels:) Air-conditioning is really good!
Cons: Breakfast - we stopped going there after the 1st day. Coffee was really bad for Italy :) Croissant was undercooked, no choice at all. Don't waste your time going there. There is a nice place called Di Dio just 5 min from the hotel. There were no hangers in the 1st room. We asked, then we had to go for them to the reception. Noone could bring to the room? In the 2nd room there was only 1 hanger.. For a toilet paper when it's finished we also had to go to the reception..During cleaning they didn't put an extra one :d The shower holder was broken but noone fixed it neither before, nor during the say. The cleaning lady couldn't not to notice that it needs to be fixed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. They sorted out a problem when one of our party had forgotten to bring their passport. They gave us good advice on nearby restaurants. They ordered us a taxi and kept our luggage safe after checkout but before we left the city.
Cons: All the scrambled eggs and bacon were gone because we got up too late for breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing room
Cons: Breakfast to sweet

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was quiet with windows to the courtyard. I don't know about street-side rooms (if there are any). Air-con included and worked very well. Breakfast was ok and included hot foods as well (scrambled eggs and cheap sausages). Location and price was why I chose this hotel. I arrived late and was catching a train the next morning. Just a stone's throw from the railway station with 24h reception.
Cons: No complaints, all good.
6.8 Good
Pros: The interior fittings. The breakfast
Cons: TV limited. Slow to change stations. No sport No English TV Wi fi was very poor
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very generous and tbe staff were very helpful. Very close to the train station.
Cons: The shower didnt run hot water. The fridge didnt work well either.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything about the hotel was excellent. Our room was amazing - period furnished, like the rest of the hotel, with perhaps an over-the-top sense of humour which we enjoyed. We had a view across the busy road and railway line but through tree tops to the sea. Double glazing on the windows was excellent so the traffic noise did not bother us at all. And the air con worked - even in July. Breakfast in the internal courtyard was very good and a pleasant shady environment despite the heat. The hotel is just across the road from the railway station and bus stop for the airport.
Cons: The area in which the hotel is located is the seedy end of town, with few enticing eateries within say a 10 minute walk. And the urban area between the hotel and town centre was down-at-heel, in poor repair and graffitied, and so unpleasant to walk through.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, good breakfast! Close to Railway and Bus stations.
Cons: Wi-Fi not very good worked(((...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good environment and a variety of selections of breakfast on the patio. Very close to central train station and central bus stations.

6.3 Good
Pros: Helpful staff Parking available
Cons: Location- good for train station A bit rough in one direction - dirty streets Room facilities need refurbishing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Manganelli came like a wonderful surprise to me. Located at the heart of Catania city with a great connection to the restaurants, shooping area, attractions and bus stations make this hotel my best choice ever. The staff was excellent and available to help you with anything, the room was really clean and quiet and the breakfast was very good and served inside or to the lovely tarrace. I will miss that delicious food and their espresso done every morning by the polite lady at the bar. If you want much quiet room I can suggest you to choose the room from the garden side which happens to be the best to me. Catania is a huge city though if you will travel with shuttle bus from the airport I can suggest you to take Alibus which will stop you right to the Borsalino plazza. From there you just go to Duomo and just keep walking straight until you meet the intersection Via Etnea and Via Antonio di Sangiuliano where the hotel is located just 50 m to the right of Via Antonio Di Sangiuliano. I had a great time at Manganelli Hotel and I am pretty sure that you will enjoy it too. Thank you Manganelli staff for your kindness and hospitality , I will be glad to came back again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly & helpful & it’s a beautiful hotel. A great hotel for a romantic weekend.,
Cons: Nothing
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very professional and welcoming. Joseph checked us in and was a great host. The room was very clean and spacious, with a 18th century ceiling. They also offer 24h service, which is great if you need something in the middle of the night. We didn't have a chance to try the breakfast because we had a trek booked early in the morning but it seemed great.
Cons: There was no bin in the room, just one in the bathroom, which is not very convenient when you travel and need to get rid of stuff. The room had air-conditioner which was great due to the heat, but a light flashes everytime it is on, which can be annoying if you like to sleep in complete darkness. We also asked the staff to book a cab to go early at the airport, and they assured that we could pay card, but it happened we couldn't, so we had to find an ATM to withdraw some cash at 4 in the morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good location. We have had nice breakfast at the rooftop. The staff is very polite. and nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: FANTASTIC BREAKFAST AND ROOF TOP VIEWING

6.3 Good
Pros: The air conditioner was excellent and we were there in the middle of a heat wave! The bathroom was clean and effective. Breakfast was good and service there was friendly!
Cons: Our room faced the road and there was a VERY loud parade. We asked the reception why the road was closed off and he said he had no idea. Also, finding the hotel from the Ali Bus dropoff was difficult. We called twice and asked 3 different establishments before finding the hotel.
4.5 Okay
Pros: I was given a room in an adjacent building and ended up being locked in the building. I was charged for a large room which I had not requested which almost doubled the rate. As a solo traveler, I didn't feel safe in the building and didn't sleep. The decor needs upgrades, it's not at all cozy or warm.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Not far from the center. Overall a good budget hotel
Cons: In some places need repair
8.8 Excellent

Cons: The price for the parking area was a bit high, 10 euro/day. There could have been a kettle in the room as well.

Cons: The staff: I checked out 2 days earlier to my designated checkout time. I asked if they had shuttle busses that could take their guests to the sandy beaches near the airport, i was said that i could take a cab for 25 euros and that they couldn’t help me with that.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent quality and selection. attention to cleanliness and detail by staff
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The hotel looks very new, nice lobby and remodeled rooms and bathrooms. The room was very small, the location was great, as long as you walk left when you get out of the hotel (if you go right you'll find lots of hookers, waiting, sitting on plastic chairs, i'm not joking). Great restaurants within 1 block, friendly staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: Spacious rooms, great breakfast
Cons: Noise from the road at night
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Parking easy and just around the corner. Staff were very nice, very helpful. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. The bar area was comfortable with lots of seating.
Cons: The lift was broken for part of our stay, I had an fractures wrist and we struggled to find the right stairs to use. I wasn’t keen on the curtained drapes over the bed.

Cons: Fitness centre was just a fake. No air condition and threadmill did not work The terrace was a mess, could make more out of it Air condition lived its own life, cold in the mornings even though I turned it off at night Balcony is a joke Ear plugs saved my sleep, city is not quiet at night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was central. The rooms were comfortable. The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: the breakfast is not very complete. no more croissants at 9:30. eggs sunny side up not included. this is this only negative. the rest was excellent and the staff is adorable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The barman/sommelier Antonio, was fantastic. He was quick, attentive and gave great service. He was also very interesting to talk to, and offered excellent advice on places to visit.
Cons: I never quite mastered the secrets of the air conditioning. No matter what setting I tried, it seemed to have a mind of its own. We'd be sweating all night long, then when we had finished breakfast and were going out for the day, it would come on of its own accord, to cool down an empty room! Still I guess the maid was comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was large, architecture and furniture are beautiful. The staff was very kind. Breakfast was good.
Cons: We asked for a silent room and were not assigned one. The toilet was getting stuck, the hotel although right next to the via Etnea and the heart of Catania sits on a quite ugly and dirty street.

Pros: Very quiet and comfortable
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The immediate surroundings are perhaps typical of some of the back-street areas of Catania, however, the Liberty Hotel is an absolute real GEM. It offers tranquillity, with a wonderful welcoming and restful ambience. Having said that, the staff are so friendly, helpful and personable, who take 'service' to another level. Around the corner within just a few minutes walk are excellent local restaurants serving great fresh food and hospitality. The main square for buses, - inc. Airport bus is just 5 minutes walk away, - with many of the sites also being in reasonable walking distance. The hotel is quite exceptional for what it offers, and our stay exceeded expectations and was a wonderful bonus to our holiday!

Cons: Uncomfortable bed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, eapecially for 3 EUR Friendly staff Great value for money
Cons: Elevator was super slow and old Air conditioning in the room was not so powerful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, great breakfast and helpful staff
Cons: Definitely noise, I was on an inner courtyard so no street noise but you could hear everything in the next room then the bathroom Awful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing and the best part of the stay
Cons: All was good!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, hotel on a walking distance from monumental and shopping areas. Lots of fun places to have dinner and a drink nearby. Very clean and in well condition. For a fee, you can get your car in a private parking. Good breakfast selection.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. A tiny bit of street noise outside that seemed to fade at a reasonable time. The check in and staff were friendly and helped set up a taxi at fixed rate for our airport trip the next morning. He was also keen to inform me about Best Western discounts and points in future. For a small hotel and breakfast room the breakfast was really great with the added bonus of Sicily's classic fresh granita with brioche. I would have lingered longer in there if we had the time. The price was excellent value, perfect for one night stay or more, depending on your needs.
Cons: It was great to have coffe/tea making in the room with kettle, however there appeared not to be any milk packets amongst others such as sugar and honey. The other thung that appears common in Sicily is the excessive use of plastic. The cups offered for the hot drinks were styrofoam which is unpleasant to drink from and wasteful. The plastic spoon offered had begun to melt in my tea as I stirred in the sugar. Please offer real cups for coffee/tea and metal spoons and help to not make more waste in your island and country. For some reason we had trouble with the safe in the room. Staff came to help and then it worked. Of course when they left and we tried again, it didn't work. Who knows why. Unlucky. There was no iron in the room but I'm guessing they would find one if needed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A nice little hotel in a quiet location. The most extraordinary feature of this hotel is an excellent breakfast for a mere 3 euro!! Clean and quite spacious room with a big balcony. Comfortable bed. Very helpful and smiling staff. Highly recommended.
Cons: that I had to leave so soon ;)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is quite great, location is good. Easy to reach "must see" places. Breakfast is good and staff - willing to help
Cons: We had lots of troubles with wifi quality, so hotel is not so suitable for business travelers, who don't have their own internet. Also it is not so convenient, if you want reach beach by foot
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is well located close to the city centre with a secure parking garage - therefore it is great for those travelling with a rental car. The rooms, although a little dated were clean and comfortable with the balcony providing a nice touch in the evenings before heading out for dinner. The reception staff were very helpful!
Cons: The breakfast waiting staff looked thoroughly unenthused and were not very forthcoming... it took several attempts to wrestle an espresso out of them! The rooms are basic and felt a little old however all things considered this was a good hotel for the price!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great as well as the location.
Cons: Change the old carpets.
