Hotel's position

Booked 3 nights two rooms the first night was screwed as they only booked one room when both were prepaid. Besides this a call received from the hotel in the morning did nothing to avoid this even I confirmed both rooms. The night receptionist tried to put blame on me, then her colleague and rudely telling us that the only alternative was that she can accommodate two of us in a flat 300 meters away. This screwed our first night, out of three, of a walk on the promenade. Thank you Gaia (the night receptionist), who really lacks some communication skills. The manager Luca Trovato, excused himself, though not personally by providing two bottles of sparkling wine and biscuits, the day after in each room. Despite this the girls at the reception, the day after were much more polite and accommodating.

Stunning views of Mt Etna from the room and fabulous breakfast terrace. Nice variety of breakfast choices, including some homemade cakes. Breakfast staff were efficient and pleasant. Great location for walking after dinner, with a wide, bicycle-free, well-lit promenade, which felt very safe.

Bed linen could be softer, sheets were very average and scratchy. Breakfast juice could be freshly made but wasn’t, and available juice choices were nothing special.
