No hot water in the morning.
Overall we had a very good stay: location was great, room was good, it was very good value for the money we spent for accomodation. There was no permanent personnel at reception but he came when necessary (i.e check-in) and he was very responsive to our questions (i.e. arranged taxi etc). At plaza Duomo there is tourist info, I suggest to buy tickets there and go upstairs (not the full museum ticket but only for the terrace), to have perfect view of the town including Mt Etna. In Catania we had Mt Etna tour which was very good particularly also due to excellent weather which allowed us to see Etna and do hiking. We also visited Taormina and Syracusa. You can walk to bus station for busses to Taormina and Syracusa. It is better to learn the time table in advance if possible, sometimes there are gaps of 1h or more between busses. When returning back instead of getting off at the bus station you can get off near center (Plaza Duomo), bus station can be a bit desolated and we heard a bit unsafe at night (but we didn’t have any bad experience). I suggest to go Castel Mola in Taormina. There are busses from Taormina to Castel Mola, which takes 15 min. We preferred to walk up to Castel Mola which took ~1hr; a bit tiring but very nice and beautiful experience with a lot of nice view to enjoy and take photos. Close to Cataniabus station there is a very nice small cinema museum (Museo del Cinema). If you walk away from the center at via Etna for 5-10 min and turn right to Corso Sicilia you can come close the local daily market which is also very nice. On Corso Sicilia you can find a very nice supermarket to buy snacks, jamon, food, and at the entrance you can buy very nice coffee from the vending machine, also can use the public toilet there. At the opposite side there is a big shop (Cristaldi) for olive oil etc. Fish Market is very good in every aspect, also with modest but very delicious restaurants (i.e. la Paglia) at the market area, (i.e try octopus salad)
Overall I think it was all quite good regarding the hotel. There are sometimes 1h or more gap between busses to neighbor towns, can cause unexpected waiting if you don't know the timetable, learn the next bus is 1.5 hr later, but not a big problem, just be aware.
IT IS LITERALLY IN A CENTER OF EVERYTHING!!! ;p, It's next to main square, St Agatha Church, the fountain, fish market etc. I was there during winter (december)- and the building was decorated with the lights - MAGIC! <3 I recommand it- great place. Sicily is very photogenic -check the pictures I took :)
I was told that the breakfast that we (me and my partner) paid for - will be there from early mornings (fridge, table) but when we came there was just a few jars with marmolade and few slices of bread. So we didnt have chance to eat antything ;/- I guess 10 (that we've been waking up during holidays) is to late, andother people already ate non sweet elements of the breakfast :( - So better wake up early if you want to eat something.
It’s location is perfect you can walk everywhere and especially at the night it’s quite. Personal is very helpfull and warm. Towels and linents were perfectly clean.
It’s stairs are very narrow and clastrophobic. And room is needed renewation. After each using the shower bathroom is getting terrible wet. All furniture old and unusefull. Room doesnt available to spend time, dark and small.
Great location, very nice big room with comfy big bed; we had very good communication with the hosts, they helped us even with recommendations for parking places :) Quiet area, the location is on a small street, away from the city noise.
The location and the room are great, with some small investments in the bathroom, it will be perfect. For one night it was exactly what we needed :) The leakage from the shower is not very good, I had to close the water for a few moments during shower in order for the water to drain.
