Pros: Very helpful and kind hosts...especially as we are elderly and needed help with luggage. Breakfast had a good range of choice and was tasty and wholesome. En suite bathroom well equipped and very clean.
Cons: A bit cramped in the bedroom and not much space to put things down. We would have liked a method of contact with the hosts besides knocking on a locked door...perhaps a bell system?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Hosts where very good.
Cons: every thing was very good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: An interesting and comfortable property, where we were welcomed, felt comfortable, slept well and enjoyed talking to the owners over breakfast. Instructions for finding it could be a bit more detailed, as we did get slightly off the beaten track en route!
Cons: Nothing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were instantly made to feel at home (and very spoiled!) by our host, Sue, and her partner, Mark. Cream tea on arrival was most appreciated - which we had overlooking the beautiful gardens. Our room was impeccably clean and super comfortable with lovely touches like chocolates on the pillow and bathrobes. Breakfasts were fabulous - loads of choice and very nicely cooked to order. Lovely places to visit nearby - Sue & Mark gave us handy advice. (Don't miss Lavenham and Aldeburgh on the coast!) We hope to return soon. Thankyou so much!!
Cons: Didn't want to leave!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It was our 4 th visit and we’ve always had the Peach room which has french windows onto a little patio with table and chairs. Mike and Christine are friendly and helpful ( drew us a map to find the pub for evening meal and phoned to make a booking for us), greeted us with a cream tea in their lounge, wonderful breakfast menu , beautiful furniture and breakfast table and garden to walk round with the company of their soft, gentle dog!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Room/bed - very clean and comfortable with lovely towels, handwash, shampoo etc Offered cup of tea and cake on arrival FRESH milk in mini flask for tea in my room Delicious and imaginative options for breakfast, inc chestnut and mushroom 'burger' - yum! Fabulous 3 acre garden (with hens for fresh eggs)
Cons: Nothing could have been improved by hosts. Location rural and no public transport nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked and very much appreciated the personal touch which both Michael and Christine afford their guests. Their attention to detail is first class. Their friendly manner, local knowledge and helpful maps were most welcome.
Cons: I always find other peoples showers, taps etc a steep learning curve, so perhaps a run through of the facilities would be a good idea.

Pros: WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DIAMOND OF A FIND!!! The entire place was absolutely phenomenal, the host was lovely and welcoming, having everything ready for us with the fire on and Hot tub ready. He gave us all the information we needed, places to go and eat, to go and see, directions to the shops. Just overall a 5* experience.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional, from the greeting to the actual room. Could not find fault at all and can’t reccomend this gem highly enough!!!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hot tub bonus peaceful location cosy room
Cons: Not a negative but water pressure could do with being better and my opinion would be better to have a shower rather than a bathtub especially when using hot tub again this is not a negative just my opinion
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So relaxing and beautiful ! The bed was huge and amazingly comfortable... the little touches made us feel so welcome and Steve was so lovely throughout the stay ... 2 nights away felt like a week away it was so relaxing xx
Cons: Take flip flops for the hor tub as it's a bit stoney but I guess it has to be for drainage etc x
9.6 Excellent

Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host Steve, who explained everything in detail when we arrived. Great use of the hot tub, which is very private. The cottage is in a remote village with a pub (which we didn't make it to!) just a five-10min walk away. Great place to just get away from it all and enjoy a little R&R. Would definitely recommend.
Overview Reviews
This 17th-century Suffolk abode is a converted water mill in 12 acres of land, enhanced with a sleek, minimalist restaurant and super-stylish boudoirs with high-spec Starck-fitted ensuites. Tuddenham Mill is somewhere to while away a lazy sunny afternoon playing boules by a swan-studded pond, or cosied up on hand-picked statement furniture in a spacious lounge bar under original exposed beams.
7.0 Good
Pros: I like the little home that looked like a hobbit house very comfortable, spacious.
Cons: Breakfast takes too long. It needs to be a buffet so that people come in and eat and go rather than wait for it to be made. When we came the fire alarm went on and the gas was switched on and had to wait for a while.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything from the moment we arrived to when we left was 5* would highly recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was wonderful, cooked to perfection. pod was unique, wrong time of year for full scenic appreciation. staff very friendly and helpful. great venue can see how people would use this for a wedding venue.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great and very good for the dog.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room felt very private. Friendly staff.
Cons: Do not allow dogs in rooms. Our choice of rooms was very limited as I will not use a room frequented by filthy, smelly dogs. On this occasion, I was reasonably happy to upgrade as it was a special occasion. Had this just been a couple of nights away, I would have gone elsewhere. The food is very good but the dinner menu is too fussy for our tastes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loft suite
Cons: Isolated
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Nooks are lovely, the attention to detail, is just so!!! The Breakfast was yummy, and the location is quiet and peaceful. I would certainly go back, and recommend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfasts and very happy with Room 17 in the Tudor house. Very quiet at night.
Cons: Nothing negative to report.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really well maintained and restored historic property. The room my daughter was in was up on the second floor with a lovely canopied double bed which she said was extremely comfortable. Access to this floor is via a narrow quarter turn staircase so if you have any mobility problems best to ask room on the first floor or with easier accessibility. We managed the stairs without a problem but just to be aware. The room facilities were excellent. The hotel provides an excellent choice of breakfast most of which is locally sourced. The hotel is in a great location close to the Abbey Gardens, the Theatre Royal and all the other attractions of Bury St Edmunds. It also provides car parking - what more could you ask for!
Cons: There isn't anything to dislike.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful in and out , the estate was amazing so much to look at . Breath taking
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location fantastic, room beautiful, great facilities for couples and families. Focus on families is lovely.
Cons: Some things felt a little tired and dusty. Perhaps due a bit of a refresh?! Fredericks Restaurant was a mixed experience - some of the food was a bit bizarre, though some was good. Chefs ‘special’ at breakfast...waffles with ‘fresh berries’ was two tiny lukewarm freezer type ready made waffles with one sad strawberry chopped in half. Just expected more from the type of hotel and room cost.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very clean and caters for family’s in every way possible. Excellent facilities and fantastic facilities for kids. The staff are amazing and can’t do enough to make your stay perfect in every way from showing you around to booking a table for dinner. The restaurant is fantastic and the food is amazing. Breakfast is plentiful and again the staff can’t help you enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all exceptional. very polite, helpful, and eager to please. The swimming pool was very enjoyable. The food in the restaurant was very high standard, Excellent range of drinks, including good selection of craft gins and single malt whiskies. We stayed in the lodge, which was simply beautiful, with our room looking out into a pretty walled garden. The lounges were spacious and very comfortable, with newspapers and waiter service to your seat. Elemis products in bathroom. Spa treatments were top class.
Cons: The drinks were very expensive. Sealant around bath needs maintenance (very minor point) Shower head was installed too low (very minor point)
6.7 Good
Pros: We stayed the the lodge apartments and it’s an impressive looking building. Our room was large but not great.
Cons: We arrived at reception after parking in a puddle some distance away due to overcrowding. We joined the checking in queue and waited until we were at the front and then for some reason the couple behind us were seen before us. It wouldn’t have been a big problem but the staff explaining where everything is takes some time. We were shown where the swimming pool, cinema room etc was but a vague direction of where not only where our room was but the actual building was in which in itself is a pain to find. Breakfast is very limited with the room cramped and a free for all. I could accept these these faults but staying with my wife and 2 young children and paying £280 for 1 night! I thought this might be a treat for them but next time we’ll stick to our usual premier inn with a great location and £200 discount. I’m not joking, premier inn!
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location good bed and excellent breakfast
Cons: A bedroom window that wouldn’t close made for a draughty cold night. They need to up the maintainence on this older building
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We travelled with my sister and her husband who’s anniversary it was, the staff were so helpful, especially Chloe at the reception, and we all had a good nights sleep as the beds were so comfortable, the food and drink was wonderful, and facilities for adults and children are brilliant, the gardens and house are stunning, and the National Trust tour we took was so informative, will definitely stay again, could not fault a thing!
Cons: Having to leave!
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and gardens are beautiful. Facilities are fantastic. It’s a really great place if you’ve got young kids. If they’re a bit older, say teenagers, they may get a bit bored.
Cons: Couldn’t use the main garden because they have a very serious wasp problem (they’ve had it for years and never dealt with it). The conservatory where you eat is baking and the fans don’t really do anything. Breakfast at the lodge was poor, to say the least.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pleasantly surprised for a cheap night stay. Very rural location away from traffic. Good facilities in the room tea and coffee, toiletries, ironing board, hairdryer and a good size with private bathroom. Clean. The shower was a little weak for my liking otherwise I would have been straight back next time I needed to stay in the area. Excellent value for money
Cons: Shower too weak
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The garden is pretty. You get cereal if there is milk.
Cons: No staff at reception during our visit, had to book self in. Room was filled with flies aswell as well has many dead ones in light. Bed sheets had black mark. Pillows was flat. Matress was just 2 mattress stacked. Furniture was old and run down and nothing matched clearly from a charty shop. Stickers on window of flowers and flies which looked extremely childish and cheap. Tv was not viewable by both my husband and I at night due to its position . Doors to hotel was left open all night so caught a cold and had bad nights rest, still recovering. Dead bird in the pond. Lots of bees on edge of pond ,my husbund is allegic. Your told help yourself to breakfast but no milk in the fridge. Children bikes etc in front of hotel, makes it look scuffy, seems to have a family living here. Very unprofessional will not be visting again, we are in the middel of writing a complaint. I have photo evidence which will be included in my complaint, will be asking for refund otherwise small claims court, it was that bad.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was ver large and comfortable with some nice little extras by way of toiletries and bottled water. Very quiet too considering how close to the centre of Bury St Edmunds it was.
Cons: The continental breakfast could have been better as two out of the four mornings there wasn't any pastries and it wasn't busy so that wasn't the reason.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean, modern room in an annexe to an old, historic inn. Staff far friendlier than most.
Cons: 2 comfortable armchairs in the room.

6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was extremely good. The best quality bacon I’ve ever been served & as I’m fussy with bacon I was very happy
Cons: The rooms were comfortable but very tired & in need of a revamp which should be reflected in the price as the cost of the room made it even more disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was lovely and although attached to the inn was not noisy. We ate in the pub the first night and the meal was lovely and fresh and hot. The room was at the back of the inn near the gardens which were beautifully kept. The owners and their family were friendly and made us welcome. Lovely breakfast each morning which again was freshly cooked to order.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff. Nice food. Old traditional pub/inn. Dads Army history.
Cons: Not a lot. Perhaps a bit overpriced for facilities.

Cons: The bathroom in the room could’ve done with a make over.
7.1 Good
Pros: handy location for our purposes
Cons: to hot unable to turn off radiator
5.0 Okay
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Cleanliness, there are cobwebs with plenty of dead insects in the light fitting above the dining table where we had breakfast which could have spiced up our breakfast. The facilities are well worn and needs updating, the hot water for the bath is so weak and slow it took 40 minutes to fill the bath.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely, the food was lovely, the rooms were very cosy.
Cons: The beds were a bit too hard, would be much better with Room service and did miss a bath.

Pros: Location is convenient for the town. Not happy with the single beds
Cons: Lack of storage space - like no drwaers anywhere Pillows a tad too soft!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and the staff very welcoming and we even received an anniversary card from the hotel staff!!!
Cons: I requested champagne flutes and an ice bucket to be in the room ready for our arrival which was confirmed by a member of staff via email. Unfortunately this was not in our room on arrival. Our stay was anniversary treat so was a special occasion which again the staff member knew about.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Rooms comfortable, lots of parking. Convenient location.
Cons: Signage at the front roadside poor, I was meeting other friends at the hotel and all three of us missed the sign (very small behind a bush).......all we saw was 'Permit Holders Only'. Went past and had to guess on the way back that I had the right venue. Bar drinks Coffee/hot chocolate luke warm. One of the towels was stained.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good value, comfortable room, friendly, helpful staff, good facilities.
Cons: No drinking glasses in room. No tissues in room. Weak WiFi signal in room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Self contained nice sized rooms, good parking, free wifi
7.1 Good
Pros: Food good staff friendly
Cons: Room crowded and bed too small. Very expensive for what was offered.
6.0 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Decor clean and in good condition. All the technological appliances worked.
Cons: Poor service at breakfast - had to wait 20 mins for there to be enough cooked breakfast items ready and available. More staff needed and certainly a supervisor who stays in the dining room the whole time to monitor food provision, clearing of tables, and guests' needs. Better signing needed to dining room. No newspapers visible anywhere. Dangerous and unmarked single step in the hallway to our room - I stumbled down it twice.
6.3 Good
Pros: Extensive dinner menu but what I picked was average. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Jade on reception was an absolute delight - friendly, proactive and so professional - an absolute credit to the place.
Cons: The mattress was way beyond its useful life. The bar lounge resembled a passage way. Like many hotels of this standard, the Priory needs some love and attention.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, facilities all excellent.
Cons: Bit of a trek to room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, nice welcome on arrival. Breakfast was good and the waitress was very helpful.

Cons: on arrival night time receptionist quite abrupt, not friendly welcome at all. told we hadn't paid for breakfast which we had. then tried to get us to pay another £26. spoke to a few people in the hotel it seems they try to get extra money out of folk knowing most people will just pay as its on a expenses card.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice atmosphere
