Udee Bangkok Hostel

This was the second time we stayed at Udee. The first time was more than seven years ago, and both times we've been very happy with our stay. Udee provides excellent value for money and the staff is friendly. (Also) this time, our room was always clean and tidy. It had a fridge with some complementary water and a small selection of minibar products with very affordable prices. The breakfast was simple but tasty and the patio is a nice place to hang out. Theseva are all things you don't usually expect from a hostel. Udee probably isn't the place for party people, as it's really quiet and calm but for us that was what we wanted. The staff has written some recommendations for places in the neighbourhood on the wall. We tried out a pad thai street food place, a Japanese restaurant on the same street with Udee, and a thai massage nearby and they were all definitely worth visiting. There are also a lot of street food places very close by, which we would have tried if we stayed a bit longer than three nights!

My husband thought the bed was too soft (but personally I liked it, so I guess it's a matter of opinion!) The walk to the closest skytrain station Saphan Khwai could be shorter, as it takes about 10-15 min. Therefore this may not be the best choice for people who have trouble walking longer distances and in the heat.

Very clean and nice rooms. Very good value for money. Quiet street with amazing street food close by. Bird singing instead of car noises.

Bit off the public transport. Not an issue if you don’t mind walking. No great Thai bumshower in the toilet..

The facilities were great. I booked a single room with private bathroom and toilet, room is in level 1, near kitchen, and near share toilet, but it was fine, the share toilet was clean and not smelly, so it was fine. My room is big enough, or enough space for a single person. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Udee Bangkok was somewhere in Bangkok, but Chatuchak is 30 minutes walking, or 10 min by grab bike for 50b. Airport Don Mueng was less then 30 minutes journey and the hotel can book it for you, for 350b. Or you can just use grab, price is more or less the same. 7-eleven is near, end of the road, around 5 to 8 minutes walking. Self laundry available infront of the property. Many food around 7-eleven area, no halal food found. Breakfast was prepared by the owner, personalize according to your need, i had halal chicken sausage with eggs and toast. Fruits, juice and coffee. Microwave was available for use.

Location, i think, that is the disadvantage. But so far, all cabs, tuktuk or grab bike can reach there, so yeah.
