Pros: Spotlessly clean room. Evening meal very good. Staff excellent, very welcoming and nothing too much trouble.
Cons: Frosted glass on bathroom door was a nuisance during the night if anyone used the bathroom and put on the light. Made the room too light. Being vegetarian would have liked a fruit option for breakfast but it wasn't a problem as other options available.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Meals perfectly cooked and presented. Anything you wanted available Annette was very accommodating friendly and approachable All rooms exceptionally clean and very well dressed

7.1 Good
Pros: Hospitable staff ; good beer .
Cons: Basic bedrooms .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property only has four bedroom and my brother and I occupied two of them. We chose the Horse and Groom because of its proximity to two golf courses which we played either side of our overnight stay. The pub had an extensive menu to choose from for dinner along with nightly specials. In the morning breakfast was dealt with personally which is really nice compared to the hustle of a large corporate hotel where you have to serve yourself. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the area is very quiet at night.
Cons: Low ceilings! But there isn't much they can do about that because its part and parcel of the property being 17th century when people were not as tall as they are now.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stopped here before and, on arrival, we remembered why: a large, clearly marked car park; a warm welcome from our hosts Ayman and Julie; a large, attractive and well-equipped room with a huge and comfortable bed; a good shower; a very tasty well-cooked breakfast with quality ingredients and a friendly farewell. The Guest House is located on the main road down to Banbury but is very peaceful. We had an annexe room with a private entrance which was convenient for our late return back from the Banbury Folk Festival.

Pros: Nice setting & bar but the room (especially the bathroom were disappointing. WiFi wasn’t working at all which was a nuisance. Didn’t take breakfast as too expensive.
Cons: No WiFi. Bathroom tiny & old fashioned
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, very helpful staff, great breakfast and restaurant. We had a standard room and it was clean and comfortable. All good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had the best room in the hotel ( room 9) lovely to have a balcony. fantastic restaurant too
Cons: sadly the "super troope"r spotlight to illuminate the best bit of the hotel exterior shone right at our hotel balcony and into our room. All night!!
7.1 Good
Pros: Big rooms.
Cons: Quality of the steak for dinner was very poor, told that it would be taken off the bill but was not.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent fluffy towels
Cons: Pastry selection not always available at breakfast. Faulty shower control .
7.5 Good
Pros: Location very good for what we required, for a wedding we attended. Breakfast was full of choice and very tasty, service abut slow when slot of people in room.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel was in a beautiful location. The village though very small was very idyllic. The room was clean. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious - we had the duck which was very tender.
Cons: The service was pretty average which was a shame and important to us. It was a sunny day so a few people had drinks outside... a few hours later those empty glasses were still there. At the meal they started strong and then almost forgot about us as another event was on. The bar was pretty awful, really bright and brash. Lots of the staff stood around chatting very loudly (even about their other jobs working at different hotel chains) and came across quite unprofessional.

Pros: Great breakfast very taste, the evening meal was also very good top marks to the chef.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were outstanding. Extremely welcoming and couldn't be more helpful.
Cons: The room could of been a little cleaner but then again I'm a bit of a clean freak so no reflection on the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: Caroline was amazing couldn’t do enough. Comfy bed excellent breakfast. Good restaurant and lovely food
Cons: Rooms rather dated and a little shabby in places
5.4 Okay
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff. People seemed happy with the breakfast. Clean, tidy.
Cons: When you pay £160 for a room inc breakfast you expect a great experience. Unfortunaltely our room had a blocked sink which would take 10 minutes to drain after a shave. Dusty Spider webs on the inside and outside of the windows. Wall was roughly patched up in parts with cream paint over magnolia paint. Squeeking matress had seen better days. Shower head was 1/4 covered in limescale. No vanity kit or shampoos etc, only wall mounted multi purpose soap. If I would have paid £60-70 I would have no complaints, charging £160 you have to expect some critical feedback as you are in the 4-5 star price bracket. If they adjust their prices I would recommend it, if they do not I would not recommend it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, great menu and food quality, fantastic breakfast
8.3 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: No breakfast , excellent location and friendly helpful staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is no longer available only in room Staff were particularly likeable
Cons: Bathroom could be a little better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner in the evening. Very good breakfast in the morning. Comfortable bed. When we arrived we found out that they recently stopped providing breakfasts. They said that booking.com had been told of this but as our booking was made some time before they stopped breakfasts they would be happy to provide a full english for us; which they did and very good it was too. Our room was equipped with the usual tea and coffee making facilities plus a mini bar with complimentary water, fruit juice and fresh milk, plus a selection of cereals so it was possible to have a mini breakfast in the room.
Cons: Our room was small and there were only 2 hooks on the wall to hang clothes; as we were staying 2 nights and were attending a wedding this was an inconvenience. Also the bathroom and shower were very small, but all worked okay. Checked booking.com website on our return and it says breakfast provided in room. When we go away we like a cooked breakfast so I think (to avoid disappointment) it should be made clear that a cooked breakfast is not available
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was cold but the heater soon warmed it up
8.8 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcome was friendly and polite, the room was beautiful and the food was fabulous! The pub is canal side with a lovely beer garden and a delicious menu. The restaurant and pub are cozy and the meal was fantastic, significantly better than usual pub fayre. The room was spacious and spotless with a mini fridge, orange juice and cereal. Staff were really friendly and atmosphere was lovely. Have already booked for a return trip.
Cons: Not a problem, but WiFi was a little weak in the room

Pros: Excellent staff attitudes. Proprietor, manager and chef very helpful and couldn't do enough to correct any shortcomings. They were most pleasant with good SOH. Location excellent for M40 junction11 and for exploring rest of the Cotswolds.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From the moment I arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and service were excellent with a good choice of wines and evening meals. Both newly appointed bar managers were very friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay more comfortable. The room was a little dated and could do with a refurb but the bed was very comfortable and the room itself was surprisingly peaceful, I slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked as was the evening meal, good home comforts. It will be a regular stay for me for work.
Cons: The room needs refurbishing but still comfortable
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Apart from the bed problem the room was fine, nice and clean and I slept well. The breakfast was excellent pretty much anything you want freshly cooked to order and very nicely cooked too! also the usual drinks, cerials and toast. So much better than the buffet set up at so many hotels.
Cons: We booked two separate rooms and one of them wasn't made up properly. The bed hadn't been made, not a big problem but it's never happened to me before.

6.7 Good
Pros: Good food in the pub connected to the building.
Cons: Very noisy I was on a ground floor room and the room above had a noisy bed that creaked every time they moved. Not the quietest location as my room was on the main road. Internet signal was very weak and kept cutting out so I couldn’t do my planned work. Bath had hair in from I presume a previous occupant
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was good value for money and Georgia on reception was very helpful.
Cons: Despite the signs requesting guests be courteous to others staying in the hotel, I was woken very early by people going up/down the stairs directly outside my room (Room 1). I understand that people's behaviour is difficult for the hotel to control but if the stairs themselves were a little less creaky, that would help. Also, it was a real shame that despite having been told that the bar would be open until 11pm, when we returned from our meal, we found it closed.
5.0 Okay
Cons: One of our two rooms was hot- no ventilation made it hard to sleep at night. The mattress for both rooms was lumpy and not comfortable. No internet service the first day of a two day stay. Very limited mobile service for both days of our stay. Restaurant service was OK but not great compared with other restaurants we went to in the neighborhood.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so helpful. They let us leave luggage in our room at 10.30am as we were going to a wedding. The breakfast staff were also so friendly and accommodating allowing a large family to reserve a table.
Cons: It would have been good to have a blanket in the room as we did get cold.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfy. The room was spacious. The girl on reception, Georgia was lovely.
Cons: The price of the room which was basic and not very clean. The bath was chipped and grubby as was the shower head. Hair by the plug. Stained shower curtain. Old sweet wrappers on floor in room. Dusty. Room overlooking neighbours gardens. Body wash provided but fixed to wall above basin so no good for bath or shower

Pros: Lovely little hotel tied to a pub that is an ideal location for Silverstone Rooms are excellent, very clean, with good facilities Central for Banbury town too.
Cons: Only one small thing and its personal to me I guess. At weekends breakfast does not start until 8.30am and that was too late as I had to be at Silverstone by 9am Breakfast was excellent on the day I had it, although could not have on the second day as needed to be away. As the hotel seemed to have a few people staying that were visiting Silverstone too, an earlier breakfast of 7.30 onwards would have been much better
7.5 Good
Pros: The place was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The area was a little disappointing.
Cons: Location wasn’t great.
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was very good with great facilities but it was a bit gloomy as the lighting was rather subdued.
Cons: Breakfast was good but we decided to eat there on the first day and the food was expensive and poor quality. Also the service for lunch and dinner was very poor.
7.5 Good
Pros: Dinner was lovely
4.6 Okay
Pros: The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent quality even though there was very limited choice for children
Cons: The bedroom was clean (particularly the bathroom), our room overlooked the beer garden so was noisy with music until midnight. It was also next to a boiler so noisy with a low hum and very very hot. The breakfast was very poor with zero choice. Only one person seeming to be working who was doing her best but food took ages even though we pre-booked as we were in a rush.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A little gem. Not what I was expecting at all. Great little find. Went for a mates wedding and he recommended we stay above this pub. Our room was spacious and well decorated. Staff were all great, great value for money.

Pros: The service at breakfast was excellent. The bacon was amazing and the staff were very attentive and made sure my coffee was topped up. I had a nice large room and the beds were very comfy. The hotel is right in the centre of Banbury - great location for walking to the shops, restaurants etc.
Cons: There was a huge coach in the car park and it was difficult to get parked because of this. I couldn't open the bathroom window. It just wouldn't budge.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy room, good bed.
Cons: Long walk to the room with several sets of stairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, continental laid out to help yourself and cooked breakfast to order - with plenty of choice .Our room was comfy and warm on a miserable October day ! The breakfast waitress from Prague - didn't get her name, sorry, was particularly friendly and helpful Indeed all the staff were really good.
Cons: Only one very minor criticism - which I brought to receptionist's attention when we left - the shower in room 6 was very difficult to turn off. It was good to have the choice between bath or shower though, hence we hadn't used it prior to the day of departure
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast great. Good location for walking to town.
Cons: Noise from street.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice hot powerful shower. Bar area ok for a quick drink. Great location walking distance to the town centre.
Cons: The room was very dated, and there were bits of tape covering broken tiles in the bathroom. The window wasnt easy to open and was filthy. This resulted in the room becoming really hot and condensation on the windows. Also there was an event on the Saturday night right below our room which we were not made aware of, loud music until about midnight.
6.3 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: On arrival there was no car parking due to a function. Had to go out for a few hours until the function finished. Meals in restaurant were average.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice staff and friendly. Good menu and nice garden
Cons: No Wi-Fi in rooms despite booking.com saying there was Wi-Fi. Surely WiFi includes in rooms for this rating? Cleanliness poor. Spiders, cobwebs all around bedroom and bathroom. Dead flies on lampshade above bed. No impressed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were going to Silverstone for the motogp so location was great.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Quite shabby room was a disabled room which we are not ? which was very small nowhere to put anything down shower was not good and to receive breakfast in a basket the night before for this cost was not good. Would have cancelled and go somewhere else but we were unable to do this due to your conditions.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was ok for where we going
Cons: I ordered a chicken chasseur on the first evening, it was meant to be served with mash colcannon and green beans, it came with a few burnt slices of potato and courgettes and what seemed like half a jar of black peppercorns completely inedible, the chicken also tasted burnt, it was awful. The waitress was very apologetic and said she will tell the chef and removed it from the bill, i then ordered the cheese board, again the grapes were well past there sell by date and some leaves were thrown on the cheese board, how can you get this so wrong. we then decided to eat out the second evening as didn't want to take the risk of another bad meal. The breakfast hamper in theory is a good idea, but the cereals were stale, princess carton orange juice and some fruit chucked in, it really was a naff breakfast And to finish off if the above isn't bad enough, the bathroom shower just flooded the whole floor, we mentioned it to the member off staff the next morning and they said yes we have sorted it! I paid £200.00 for a 2 night stay and felt robbed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, wonderful quite room right next to the lovely pub.
Cons: The shower did not drain well, though I did not bother me.
