Pros: The breakfast was delicious (Oishī)! Made with care with different variations every day. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was looked after, including going above and beyond with recommendations for food and activities in the area. They even offered to pick me up from a local bus stop however I had a hire car so was not required.

Pros: The staff & owner were very nice. We booked the Holiday home which was very spacious and homey for a large group. Has dining area & kitchen where you can have a nice meal gathering :)
Cons: You have to wait for hot water to come out (there is a warning written in japanese though) 1st floor rooms can hear loud footsteps from upstairs (assuming your companions run around a lot)
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were basic but clean. The service was outstanding. Our hosts made every effort to make us feel at home and accomodated our trips. The hostel has a kids lounge with playstation. The kids loved it and made friends there. The BBQ was really great! We loved the outside and the surroundings at this place are stunning. I don’t think there are better views of Mt. Fuji. It is somewhat off the beaten track but with some preparation it can be reached from Gotemba station or by bus from Tokyo.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were all together in one big log house.
Cons: Lack of cooking utensils.

Pros: The room was spacious, the onsen was in operation (but we didn't use it). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious! The lady who runs the place is very kind and hospitable. Overall I liked it. Keep in mind that you'll be sleeping on futons, but you can double up if there are extras I suppose.

7.9 Good
Pros: Able to wake up early and pop out to see Mt. Fuji in the distance. The tatami room and sleeping on the futon was surprisingly comfortable and I slept very well.
Cons: Arriving later and checking out the next day meant I didn’t have time to use the onsen. You simply can’t wash after 10pm, so arrive early to gain the full benefits. No air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lady that is in charge of the ryokan is just an amazingly sweet person: she is taking care of her customers as if they were her own children! The breakfast is fantastic and enormous, we never could finish it. Unfortunately, it was raining like hell, but a very nice tea was waiting for us in our room at our return and the onsen/ofuro too! This ryokan is near the lake and bus stop (ichinohashi).
Cons: Note that the payment is done by cash only

The Fuji 5th Lake bus took us straight from Shinjuku to the last bus stop, and another 5-10 mins to the guesthouse. The size of the room is actually very decent. We had room 201. We arrived earlier than check in time (5pm) but host was kind enough to let us stay. Remember to visit the temple around and there is an onsen about 20 mins walk away. The town is really relaxing and we got to experience remote part of japan.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: everything was great , the privet hotel onsen espiecially :)
4.2 Okay
Pros: It was a very traditional Japanese experience
Cons: I asked for a room for 3, they gave me a room that held “4” with 2 floor mats smaller than twin beds. We stayed 2 nights for 32,000¥ ($320.00) shower was downstairs, public, and only open for use in the morning and evening, toilets are also downstairs and public. And the hotel is yen only so I had to search the area for an ATM. That last tidbit would have been nice to lean about on your booking website.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner is nice and helpful. Japanese-style room is clean and spacious. Since we were the only group of travelers staying there, we were glad we could privatize the toilet/bathroom/pantry. We didn't have problem with its location as we were driving. There is a big supermarket and hotspring spot nearby. Very happy overnight stay !

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Sensational views of Lake Yamanakako and Mt Fuji. Our hotel room is a combination of western and Japanese- which was interesting. The locals told us that this was the best hotel here and PM Modi of India stayed at this hotel when he visited. Great buffet breakfast selection. Hotel staff service was excellent. There are complimentary hotel shuttle buses to take you to Yamanakako village and you can call the hotel for pick up. Lovely views of Mt Fuji from the men’s public onsen (but not for the women :( I’m the evening, the garden is decors with twinkling coloured fairy lights in the garden with one illumination shaped as Mt Fuji! Near the hotel bus shuttle drop off point at Yamanakako village, there is a shop where you can rent bicycles for 2hours to ride around the perimeter of the lake (part of the cycling route for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics). This was a memorable experience as you can stop at various look- out points, see the locals fishing and the white swans.
Cons: Although the men’s public onsen had spectacular views of Mt Fuji, I was rather disappointed that the women’s public onsen was surrounded by bamboo fencing so all I could see was the blue sky. The hotel should forwarn us. So for the women-if you would like to see Mt Fuji whilst relaxing in the onsen- you would need to go to the annex Spa instead.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were helpful. The scenery is nice.
Cons: They never clear your waste daily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice friendly staff. Great views of lake and mnt fuji.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were very lucky to get a clear weather day when we are there and the view from hotel is stunning. You can see Mt Fuji from your room. And the garden view of Mt Fuji is also spectacular. Don't forget to go to alao the outdoor onsen. The staff are also extremely helpful.
Cons: The location is up the hills with no public transport. Hotel shuttle ends very early so you would have to take taxi down to the town for dinner. The two restaurants in the hotel are fine dinning and very expensive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view is majestic from every point. Even from my room I was able to see Fuji. In the onsen (spa) I was really stunned, it just like on the picture! The breakfast was also great. Many Japanese food. Very very friendly and respectful staff.
Cons: I stayed in the smoking room, so I actually expected some smell. No shops around: the hotel is located on the hill, so you take the shuttle from Yamanakako. To go somewhere after coming will be very challenging. The restaurant in the hotel is very expensive, around 100 Euro for one person, but I must say, it will be an excellent dining.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from the onsen is outstanding
Cons: Dinner and breakfast are okay, but not great
8.2 Excellent

Cons: i am tall and doors were short :) but that was not a real problem
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There are so many great things to say about this property! The moment we walked in we were greeted by such a kind host who gave us a tour and offered us anything we may need. The room was a very traditional Japanese style room and had everything we could need and more. My personal favorite was the “hot tub” near the bathrooms that were available to use anytime of the day and night which was so nice to come back to after a long day to soak in. The location is also great and in proximity to everything you want to see in the area.
7.5 Good
Pros: It’s really good place to see the Fuji Mountain.
Cons: The bathroom should be improved
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very dilligent and kind. They helped us book a bus to get to Shinjuku and let us keep our luggage for one day even though we had already checked out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best accommodation of our trip so far! Had a very traditional stay, with tatami mattresses which we had to lay out ourselves every night. The kitchen and bathroom (hot tub) are shared but the amenities are perfect - with free washing machine, microwave, cutlery, toaster etc. Friendly reception staff and the location is right next to the lake. On clear days you can see Mt Fuji from the lake and you can use their free bikes to cycle around the lake.
Cons: If you are walking from the expressway bus stop with large luggage, it's a little hard to get through the driveway as it's gravel. But really, no complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and service.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s Japanese style
Cons: Shower
