Fraud Alert! Renters, Beware! This place is a SCAM. Do not fall for renting here just because they offered you the best rate online. Upon check-in, they will be fine and rent you the car. However, when dropping off the car, they will deliberately find the smallest nick and charge you $250+ to repair it. They claim that they have to replace the entire body part; however we know this is not true because they rented us an old car with dents, scratches and nails in tire. They also wanted to charge us for a nail in the tire claiming that it wasn’t there when we got the car - however who is checking the tires in that detail when you rent the car? If you have driven on the island, the whole island has pot holes and you are bound to get something in the tire. They make stuff up to scam you and tell you to get your money back through your insurance. You can tell they do this to every other customer knowing people have flights to catch and are bound to them giving them a ride to the airport. I would spend the extra $50 or $100 and rent with another company. The owner and staff here are cheap and looking to make a quick buck. Disgusting. Also they rented us a car with a dead battery and we were stuck on the road for two hours during our vacation. If you want an old crappy car and even worse customer service, this is the perfect place for you. For everyone else, rent from another company. Europcar Curacao sucks.
I had an excellent experience renting from Europcar. A representative picked me up from the airport and took me directly to my rental car. They were fast and friendly. They examined the car thoroughly helping me to find dents and nicks, and marked them for me on the agreement. There were no hidden fees. The car was a Jetta hatchback, automatic. In Curasoa, they drive on the right side of the road. there are a few street signs. So a pro tip is to download the off-line version of Google Maps for the island while you are on Wi-Fi. You can do this right at the rental company. getting a rental car instead of using tours saved us money and allowed us to go wherever we want it on the island. The best beaches are in the northwest about 35 km from Williamstead. We very much enjoyed using the car to beach hop. Drop off was also quick and easy. They took me back to the airport efficiently and did a great job. The only drawback was it was a little tough to find a car company initially. As you walk out of the airport they are a good distance down on the right, past the tour busses. The Europcar representative will be in a Europcar green shirt.
Idk why I was charged an additional cost. When I arrived the man at the desk mentioned that I was unable to return the car at 4am as I reserved it for. So I decided to return it at 1pm and was charged another $75. Poor experience for renting. Will never recommend kayak for rentals nor consider it in the future.

The drivers were great and the staff member at the desk was nice and helpful. The process was really fast. My main issue is that the email confirmation told us that the European desk was in the airplane terminal when in fact it was off the airport grounds. We eventually found the driver, but it was a bit confusing and misleading.
