Pros: From our very warm welcome from our delightful host to our checkout there’s is nothing at all to fault. We have never received such generosity, hospitality, friendliness before in all our years of travelling. The location is so peaceful & the 2 bedroom cabin we had very cosy & comfortable. Our host provided everything needed to make our stay so relaxing, including delicious homebaked goodies. A wonderful welcome to the Yukon. Thankyou Sharon!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The attention provided by the staff was outstanding. The cooking was outstanding. The location was isolated, very quiet just like I like it. The staff definitely goes the extra mile for their clients.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
7.5 Good
Pros: The small cabin I had was comfortable for one person. The snacks in the room where pretty good, I did eat them all. Although the owner operator was out of commission her husband stood in quite well. We had a good conversation after breakfast.

Cons: Nothing!
7.1 Good
Pros: Bed was comfy. Host was very nice
Cons: It had no bathroom attached to our room. If we had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night we would have to brave 30 degree weather to get to the main house. The cabin was too dimly lit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sharon the owner, the breakfast and grounds. Interesting info on the Yukon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place and Sharon was an amazing host!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the best place to stay while visiting this Yukon area as it is close enough to the city but also far enough out to enjoy nature and a quiet place .Sharon and her husband are so accomodating that you feel right at home from the minute you arrive. The cabin was cozy and comfortable and the fridge always stocked with fresh home baked goods and even a plate of smoked salmon. I would highly recommend this place to stay and we will be back one day for sure!

Hidden Valley Bed & Breakfast - Whitehorse - Bedroom

Guests often enjoy the breathtaking light display of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) from our deck.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional breakfast, beautiful property, very friendly owner as well as manager, nice fellow travellers to meet
5.4 Okay
Pros: We appreciated the peaceful, quiet and woodsy surroundings of this establishment, outside of Whitehorse but an easy short drive away. Coffee is average but breakfasts mostly good and always include fresh fruit. The attention to my daughter’s food allergies was also appreciated. The home/ public areas are comfortable and adorned with an abundance of art. Nice, unpretentious garden area. The hostess ( Joannie) is a friendly, hard-working asset to the inn.
Cons: Very disappointed with the poor quality of sleep during our stay... Had asked for a QUIET room with private washroom, of which there are two, one of which was far more private, spacious and better situated away from “guest traffic” -which is precisely what I had requested (due to my severe insomnia) when I booked some 6 months prior(!) and would have appreciated given the length of our stay (versus most of their guests)- whereas we were disappointingly stuck for 5 nights in a shoebox of a room within constant earshot of the neighbouring bedrooms and detached washrooms shutting of doors, at all hours of the night and early morning. (I would strongly suggest that the owner remind guests of basic b&b etiquette by being more mindful of their neighbours and respect their right to peace and quiet upstairs between 10pm and 9am). Lastly, the double bed/mattress were also of poor comfort for two people. In short, not recommended for a proper night’s sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Remote and cozy. Food was well thought up and the view was great.
Cons: Slippery when wet. Really nothing wrong with the property.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Not being able to pay for the room until after breakfast. Didn’t know we could get Breakfast To Go.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great service, delicious breakfast, wonderful garden. A quiet place where you can rest and appreciate the surroundings. Thank you for everything.
7.9 Good
Pros: Quiet location but still close to Whitehorse plus the bonus of the hot tub
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The B&B is outside of Whitehorse in a beautiful garden with lots of places to relax and enjoy the nature around. Good breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone is friendly. Every breakfast is delicious. The location is also great.
Cons: Nothing.
7.9 Good
Pros: very nice hosts, and staff. breakfast was good, nice setting.
Cons: bedding could be upgraded a bit
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: When we arrived and were trying to check in, the owner/hostess completely ignored us while she continued her personal conversation with a family member for over 15 to 20. Her son told her what we were there for, and she looked at us several times during her conversation. But she never even acknowledged us. We finally left and found other accommodations because she clearly had no intention of running a business. She then followed us to the parking lot and tried to convince us to stay (but never once apologized for her behavior), and she was clearly under the influence of alcohol.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: this was our second stay on our way back to bc and we loved it. highly recommend this bed and breakfast. the owner is engaged and friendly.
6.3 Good
Cons: I did appreciate the self late check in I would suggest they set up as not pet friendly at all. I did bring my lab who is not an aggressive dog by any measure and even walking the trail she was surrounded by free ranging kennel dogs. It was not a place that any outside dogs fit in well
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner/operators of Muktuk Adventures are very kind, genuine people! Such an interesting operation they have with the dogs for sledding in winter.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was extra ordinary! Even though there are more than 100 dogs on the property, everything was sparkling clean. There was no dog hair in the room and the shared bathroom was very clean all the time. The breakfast was delicious and served on real plates. We had a little bbq every night and enjoyed being surrounded by nature.
Cons: Everything was amazing.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Nice view (not the dogs)
Cons: There was a large tour group there when I arrived so all attention was on them. I was barely greeted. Dogs EVERYWHERE. I love dogs but when they are filthy dirty and literally surrounding you, it's a bit much. Many of the sled dogs did not look i like they were in good condition. No one introduced me to the dogs and one of them growled a lot, which was a bit unsettling. The tour group took up all parking close to the house so, with an injured knee (I was wearing a HUGE brace), I had to walk with all my belongings. They prepared a feast for the tour group and even though I was the only guest lodging there, they didn't even offer for me to purchase a meal. When I asked the owner (?) about where guests usually get food, he barely looked up and mumbled about something about needing to order food at the "lodge" 24 hours in advance. I asked to use the microwave and was rudely told "when things settle down a bit" so I drove the 20 minutes back into town (they are NOT in Whitehorse) to get McDonalds. When I returned, the tour group was gone but they had friends over and they were all eating ice cream (they had a HUGE container) They didn't even offer me a bowl. There was no smoke detector in the room (had been removed) and I was not given a key to my room. I was placed in a room above the kitchen so people were talking and changing press and pans until late. At some point two people were arguing--the owner and someone. He sounded very condescending. The dogs barked and howled all night. After a sleepless night, I was permitted to use the microwave in the morning and one of the employees reached over me to get coffee. Again, didn't even offer. Zero Hospitality overall. As I was leaving, the owner was telling at one of the young girls working there and sounded like a really well. He barely wanted as I pulled away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and informative. The place had a homely feel to it. The dogs were wonderful, especially the puppies and the dogs off lead. The information about mushing was extremely interesting. The river was close and had a beaver lodge on it.
Cons: The mattress had some bumpy springs and the meals could have been better. ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dogs on site were a charm. So pleased to have experienced living here.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet clean room good breakfast. Log home.
Cons: Location is about 2 or 3 km.off the highway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous. Remote. The dogs are incredible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious home-cooked meals from the garden, surrounded by nature and spectacular views, cozy cottages, husky dogs, canoe trips down Tahini river, walking trails through the forested property, biking trails, mushing trails, exceptionally friendly staff, homemade desserts!!! Homemade granola, soup, stew, curry, salad, pizza, etc. Fire pits galore, 10 min drive to Whitehorse, DOGGIES!!! Adventure packages to wonderful places including the hot springs, wildlife preserve, and more. Meet friendly people from around the world with great stories. Jeff and Manuella are amazing people who will help you get the most out of your stay. Helped us choose a mountain to climb and my gosh, did that view make the trip. I'm coming back in the winter for sure for more northern lights and winter fun. Highly highly recommended for this is a special gem of a place.
Cons: No internet, but a better connection always happens.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Historical Guest House Bed and Breakfast in Whitehorse, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Old Log Church and MacBride Museum of Yukon History. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This stay was much beyond my expectation. They have everything you need to know about the B&B and the town handy. I was so welcomed by the host Bernie (and his handsome apprentice Bradley). I was somehow worried about the shared bathroom but turned out that I actually have my own bathroom but just not on the same floor of my room which was a few flights up. Would highly recommend this place if you just need a place to relax and enjoy your vacation. And do appreciate how a historical building can be preserved and restored in such a good condition, good job Bernie and wish I could have a longer stay in your place.
Cons: Can't think of one.
7.1 Good
Pros: The studio's spacious area. Kitchen ammenities.
Cons: Honestly, it could have been cleaner..lots of dust everywhere.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the warm welcome even at 11:00 pm!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, very comfortable, friendly, well-equipped, 111 year-old house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is continental style and serve-yourself. There's plenty of good eats (cereal, breads, spreads, etc.) including some interesting condiments left by previous visitors from overseas.
Cons: It was everything we hoped it would be - interesting setting (an historical house in downtown Whitehorse), interesting history (the Klondike Gold Rush period) and interesting hosts (Bernie and Pam). All good, all around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Authentic historical home. Generous hosts. Great wood heater. We were the only guests!
Cons: A flight of stairs to get to the bathroom during the night, but authentic regardless!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location if you don't have a car. Plentiful breakfast supplies. Friendly host.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Had the whole historical house to myself for most of the 10 days I was here. Wood burning stove in the livingroom made it very cozy for the cold nights! Bernie and Pam couldn't have been nicer. I was really a home away from home!
Cons: As it's an old building, it was a bit drafty. I was able to adapt with sweaters and the fireplace, so it wasn't a big deal.

7.9 Good
Pros: Our room on the ground floor was very clean and looked newly renovated. Fridge and microwave were a bonus. The shuttle was excellent as was the location. Would stay again when back in Whitehorse.
Cons: The only 2 negatives was the musty odour in the lobby and some late night noise from the bar crowd going home and from the people in the room above moving about loudly. Would choose the ground floor again due to ease of bringing in luggage due to hotel not having an elevator
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location & very clean. Allowed our small dog

Cons: If you take a room with a river view, make sure it's not on the ground floor as while the river is across the street it's not easy to see
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic, restaurant served great food, staff very helpful
Cons: We were unfortunate to have someone in the room above us walking around for what seemed like hours on one night (only). Must have been wooden floors and not very good noise insulation. Very grateful there can't have been any guests in it during our second night. Was the only issue we had :)

7.5 Good
Pros: Location was good. There was food available. Amenities worked properly.

7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the proximity of the hotel and that it was within walking distance from downtown and other attractions
Cons: No swimming pool
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was tastefully decorated and beds were comfortable. We had to take a kitchenette room at a higher price because they had no pet rooms. Kayak & other travel websites do not mention this nor do they mention there will be a pet deposit.
Cons: The room was generally clean but behind and under furniture there was a lot of dust. They did not give me a receipt either
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff and location good.
Cons: Carpet not clean, air conditioning didn't work, not any electrical outlets available, toilet ran constantly, tub floor sloped to center (about impossible to stand in and not safe), and drap liners worn out.
7.5 Good
Pros: Paola the receptionist was very nice and helpful and very informative about where to go for sightseeing and dinner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The restaurant was excellent with great food at good prices. Location was good and we had a fridge, microwave and good wifi.
Cons: There was no excessive room, steam or hot tub. It was fairly noisy when there were people upstairs and the view was the parking lot.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: If you have a vehicle, the location is great and quiet. If you do not have a vehicle, you may want to stay downtown. The breakfast western omelette is huge - 6 eggs! It is also delicious. Two people can share the breakfast easily. All the meals in the restaurant were very tasty. There is a guest laundromat which is convenient. The room was normal size and very clean. We had a small kitchenette with fridge, burners, microwave and dishes which was a good addition. The airport shuttle is free and needs to be booked in advance.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A nice restaurant attached to the motel makes it very convenient for those who don't want to drive. Lots of parking spaces and across from gas station and stores.
Cons: Fairly long walk to my room. Not enough electric plugs in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location very good to downtown. Room comfortable and clean. Restaurant attached. Usual Menu to else where.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: It was very dated with dirty carpets, toilet ran all night, base board coming unglued, tiny bathroom, etc
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super helpful, really nice
Cons: Slightly dated motel, a little inconvenient location (rather than being central Whitehorse)
6.3 Good
Pros: Relatively quiet. Rooms were generally clean.
Cons: If you’re walking it’s a treck to the city core. There’s not a lot around the hotel.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Midnight check in after delayed flight was not a problem at all. I was lucky to have my husband to help with luggage up very steep stairs, otherwise I would have really struggled.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location fully stocked everything we needed
Cons: Nothing
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location is great and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: The room was dirty at check- in. The toilet bowl had streaks of feces inside, there was a sandwich rotting in the fridge, some trash on the floor.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location.
Cons: Amount they wanted to charge was more than the price I booked through bookings.com. Night staff was miserable & didn’t even look up from his phone when we asked about our tv issue. The bathroom is old, paint peeling and very dirty. Hotel rooms are dated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff , comfortable room
Cons: No elevator but many stairs !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, large room. Accommodating staff. Good night's sleep.
Cons: A/C unit needed some help, but staff fixed and worked fine.
7.5 Good
Pros: Front desk clerks were great . . room good
Cons: all the stairs to haul the luggage up. I still am not sure as to whether the sheets were clean as after removing the "bedspread" the bed was totally unmade. Will attach photo! On day 3 of our stay I took the pic to the front desk to show the clerk and she spoke to the service mgr. Someone there REALLY needs lessons on bedmaking. Oh, also the bag of garbage was left in the middle of the room. I would put all this down to one untrained employee, not the whole hotel. PS The photos are undoctored and the bed was not touched by us prior to the pics . . as left by employee just with a bedspread thrown over it.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: They did not let us stay.
Cons: That it was advertised to be pet friendly and they did not take pets.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is key!! The hotel is right there close to downtown!
Cons: No A/C. It was VERY warm in the room
5.0 Okay
Cons: Your WiFi didn't work. Notified desk person and were told that it may take a few minutes to connect. 30 minutes later it still didn't connect. 2nd time advising desk person it didn't work he informed us he didn't have the key to the room where the router was to reboot it. Very disappointing. I ended up going to Starbucks to use their WiFi to contact my spouse in the United States
6.7 Good
Pros: Big rooms
Cons: Tired, tv not working and bar closed

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super awesome when we checked in and were very accommodating. The beds were very comfortable.

7.1 Good
Pros: Clean, quiet, large room. Laundry services available.
Cons: Staff were curt and didn't make us feel welcome any time I was at the desk. No tea in room, only coffee. No breakfast included. Very expensive.

Pros: Breakfast was tasty just portions a bit small
Cons: No air conditioning and it was sweltering hot and couldnt sleep
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This was the second leg of our trip and proved to be a better experience than during the first leg, one week prior. The room was air conditioned this time, and there were plenty of towels and washcloths.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff friendly
Cons: Lack of parking and slow breakfast restaurant
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location and helpful staff
Cons: The first room we were given didn’t have air conditioning and the second was in a part of the hotel under renovation.
7.5 Good
Cons: Somewhat noisy, could hear other guests. Expensive!
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Long delay for check in.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is convenient, staff were helpful, good laundry and bathroom facilities.
Cons: Breakfast was adequate rather than exceptional
5.0 Okay
Cons: They could have put a shower curtain up in the bathroom. Also, pet fee was excessive at $20.00 per pet; especially when one was a non-shedding toy breed. The outside of the hotel was absolutely filthy. Granted it was spring, but, they could have swept and picked up the trash. Also, loading onto a cart is difficult as there is limited temporary space in front of the hotel and you need to park off-site.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was nice for the Yukon, but that's about all I can say.
Cons: You could easily tell when other patrons were walking passed our room. Also we had 2 dogs and we were put on the 2nd floor which was a hassle we had not encountered at other hotels.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Honestly, not much. The hotel itself is on Main Street which was nice o
Cons: So much. No included breakfast. The walls are paper thin, so I could hear every group of people walking by leaving the bar, could hear the housekeepers in the morning. The parking lot is not close to the building, did not feel safe leaving valuables

Cons: The mattresses were a bit springy, but the pillows and linens were nice.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good central location. Rooms are well equipped with good size fridge and hairdryer etc. Front desk staff was helpful.
Cons: Rooms are very tired although they are large and comfortable. I think they may be doing them up but our room was well worn but reasonably clean. We had an issue with the room not being done up for two days but the hotel did give us a good discount and an apology.

Pros: Nice size bed & tub .
Cons: Facility being redone, but other wise the room was fine except the air didn’t work.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, clean room. We brought our dog with us and it was nice being put on the first floor with vinyl flooring so we didn't have to stress too much with the dog, hotel was in a great location, free onsite parking as well
Cons: Currently the common areas are under construction, so if you look past that it's a decent hotel. Rooms were partially updated, some old worn furniture still remains.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was okay. It is nice to have somewhere to eat on site in the morning. Staff are very nice. There is parking at the hotel and it is within walking distance to the museum and restaurants.
6.7 Good
Pros: Clean room with a comfy bed. Good internet and able to get some work done.
Cons: Under renovation but the first impression of the lobby and waiting areas was poor. Security was a concern. There were a few drunk clients on the elevator as I went to my room. Okay for me since they were not rowdy but I would not have been comfortable with my family.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The staff tried to be helpful.
Cons: We had no hot water our entire stay. We were driving the Alaska Highway and had to change a flat tire in the rain. We couldn't take a hot shower, but wasn't told about this at check in.
7.9 Good
Pros: location and comfort of the beds; lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood as well. Recommended!
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Check in, luggage car, parking, elevator, heat and A\C, bed, windows, check out shuttle
7.5 Good
Pros: Conveniently located in the center of Whitehorse and a good starting point of the trip in Canada’s Northland. Recommended stay!!
4.2 Okay
Cons: Our gas tank was tapped in their parking lot. Someone siphoned our gas during the night.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: There was soda spray on the wall. And the room was unbearably hot. Plus the next door neighbor had a very yappy dog that was not being monitored.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Westmark is conveniently located in Whitehorse and has early hours for breakfast. Nice beds and linen, carpeted room. Warning sign about running too many high power appliances.
Cons: The room on one side had a young family that were noisy though they didn't stay up too late. Also got to smell the diapers, baby powder and milk. On the other side, the man spent several minutes clearing his throat every minute. Blowing his nose in the morning sounded like he was in my room. Hair missed by cleaners in sink. Sound wise, not much different than lower priced facilities in Whitehorse.
7.5 Good
Pros: good staff with great hospitality
Cons: no mugs, no shampoos in a room. at least we needed more paper cup.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The price, although after seeing the hotel, I would have paid a few dollars more to stay elsewhere.
Cons: The lack of parking, long walk from parking to room to shuttle bags.
7.0 Good

Cons: No breakfast out of season. The owner is a sad man.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful
Cons: No elevator and when I asked how many stairs she said a few she didn’t seem to grasp that the stairs were a problem and my husband has a medical problem that makes climbing stairs difficult it was a long flight and no offer of help up with our bags
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: The WIFI is too bad! Never come back again.
5.4 Okay
Cons: Beds were old, lumpy, and uneven. Dog barking outside the window. Hot water ran out and on site restaurant did not open till 8am.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and reasonably priced.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel was OK situated in town
Cons: There were no towels in the room, we had to ask for it. Wi-Fi was so poor, that you were disconnected again and again. TV did not work. The heater was broken, so that the wirering was exposed. The hotel restaurant was not a place you would like to eat. The whole thing was worn down.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: There is a night bar next door. A little bit noisy at night time. We worry about the drunks would do something silly. But luckily nothing happened when we were there.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Bathtub taps dripped, silicone around sink was peeling off, ads said it was remodelled but didn't look finished.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location is ok, is in the city.
Cons: One of the front desk I don’t like it. But i don’t need to explained. No elevator and its really hard to go up and down especially when we have stuff to bring in inside because we don’t want to leave inside the car I case of breaking our car. Room wasn’t clean, floor filthy, toilet dirty black on the side of toilet bowl.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Inexpensive stay for 1 night. Free shuttle service to airport.
Cons: Wasn't exactly soundproof. Only thing I could say as we only stayed 1 night.
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: This hotel has no redeeming qualities.
Cons: Our room wasn’t ready until 9:30pm. The vinyl flooring was coming up; the halls were dirty; there were black spots on the tub and shower curtain. Worst of all, the hotel is infested with bedbugs. By 2am we retreated from the premises and slept in the car. In the 4 hours we were in the room I was bitten more than 20 times. The only silver lining to the whole affair was that when I brought out an engorged bedbug I’d trapped in a coffee cup, they comp’d us the room. Avoid this hotel.
