Superb room and facilities. Memorable meal at Aura restaurant. Gorgeously situated next to lake with stunning evening views.
The hotel is lovely and the lake is beautiful. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was huge with a large bathtub and shower. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards were free to use for guests. The spa was great and we enjoyed the free hot tub area for adults only. The food was delicious although slightly pricey.
The hotel was slightly understaffed and they ran out of draft lager during the weekend but that’s the only negatives we could think of.
The bathroom was large and luxurious.
The building is poorly designed. A long low building with the front desk, facilities and parking all at one end making for long walks. It looked like it had been built in the 1980s' so was surprised to find that it was only 10 years old. Not easy to find things. No mini bar and the vending machine was broken. The pool was the size of a large snooker table and the hot tub could comfortably accommodate maybe 4 people. We were told we were in a "suite" but there was only a half wall separating the bedroom from the living room area. No view where we were. Train went by our window at 1:30 a.m.. We went to have supper at the hotel on the Tuesday we were there. We didn't have reservations and were turned away, even though only half the tables were in use. We were told that they were short staffed and couldn't accommodate more diners (staffing seems to be a major problem in Whistler due to the high cost of accommodation). Luckily a guest, not staff, pointed us to the bistro next door which had great food and service. A bear had recently confronted a guest in the area and there was fresh bear scat on the hiking/biking trail just outside the hotel yet staff recommended using the complimentary bikes. Not a good idea as most recent bear attacks in BC are the result of cyclists and trail runners coming up quick and surprising the animals.
Loved being in Whistler, it's so beautiful. Enjoyed being able to walk around lake from hotel, and have easy access to bike path.
Lake view. Peaceful location. Efficient personnel
Not enough parking lots.
