Pros: I arrived late and they kindly waited for me to check in. Also, they provided soya milk, soya yoghurts and gluten free bread, which is perfect for a vegan like myself. A lovely, quirky place that also has a guitar playing cat!

Pros: Liz was a wonderful host. Everything we could ask for and beyond!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Oli and Liz were excellent hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay superb. Excellent breakfast and lovely location handy for everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliest staff I have ever encountered, very clean, we paid 69 euro for our stay but would gladly have paid more. It is second to none and will definitely be coming back. Thank you Ollie and Liz for their hospitality.
Cons: Nothing could have been better, the experience was brilliant in its entirety. I think a big part of that was the hosts, made us very welcome from the moment we walked in.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy
Cons: A tv room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our host, Ollie, is one of those characters that makes traveling memorable. Keen sense of humor, hard worker, friendly and helpful. One night I asked him if could buy a bottle of water. He didn't have any so he gave us two bottles of beer instead! The small breakfast area was a wonderful place to make new friends. Continental breakfast with press coffee or tea. Pastries, fruit, cereal, good company, crisp conversation. Superb. You can easily get around Waterford on foot and enjoy this small city
Cons: No television, but good WiFi. The shared bathroom is clean and well maintained. This was not a problem for us, but it may surprise travelers from America who are used to a TV in every every room and private shower.

Pros: Breakfast and service were wonderful. The building and grounds were amazing. The location isn't easy to find as it's out of town, down a quiet road. If you want an historic building, in an out of the way location with great service, then this the place for you.

Pros: The property is beautiful, inside and out. Very neat castle ruins onsite. The host, Des, was incredibly kind and helpful at every opportunity. Parking was easy and secure. Bed was comfy, and the view outside my window was exquisite. Great pub very close by for a last-minute evening meal. It was such pleasure to stay here. Loved the sauna (uncommon for B&Bs!)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing experience! We were greeted with a spot of tea in the parlor when we first checked in. Perfect start of our vacation as it revived us from the flight. Looked like a chateau with remnants of a castle next door. It was set on a green lush hill with beautiful gardens around the property. Had dinner at a great spot The Holy Cross on our proprietors recommendation. Had a nice fire set for us when we returned and enjoyed the beautiful rooms with lovely antique settings. Breakfast in the morning was beautifully presented and delicious! Enjoyed the great food and time spent with our host Des learning about the local history. Plan to put this on our list of places to return to!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this property is beautiful, including the gorgeous decor, the large rooms, the gardens and the amazingly picturesque ruins of the the castle, manor house and other buildings. The owner Des is a most welcoming host who provides a relaxed environment, a delicious breakfast and accommodation which is exceptional.

Cons: WiFi connection was lost a few times
7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast. Quite close to the center of the city. It was charming to stay in an old house, kept quite close to an original state of roughly 100 years ago.
Cons: Of course, the age of the property and the old rugs in the rooms do impact the comfort (no elevator, so a bit cumbersome when you have many bags) & cleanliness.

Pros: Susan is an excellent host,

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time at Waterford Castle. My sister and I travel together and we were surprised when we arrived that we had 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, full kitchen with dishwasher, washer and dryer, fireplace, a picnic table on the back patio and two balconies! Reasonably priced for a 3 day stay. We had been traveling for more than a week so took one day and vegged out. We walked around the private island that the hotel is on, made a grocery run and generally chilled. We also visited several attractions in Waterford and drove to the Rock of Cashel and Kilkenny Castle for one long day. Good base for seeing the sites in SE Ireland. We had one breakfast at the castle and it was so much food that it triggered our veg day. Also ate one dinner there. Food was great and staff uniformly helpful and solicitous. We would love to go back and bring a full house!
Cons: We have one suggestion: please provide lightweight covers for the beds. While I love the feel of a duvet, it was too much for the time we were there. Woke up sweaty with no alternative covers. Ended up using my all-weather coat as a blanket instead of the duvet. Note that we found this problem in all of the places we stayed in Ireland.
7.5 Good
Pros: wonderful breakfast in a beautiful room. Breakfast staff was outstanding
Cons: No hot water in the villa. Not prepared to walk from the villa to the hotel. THOUGHT there would be a shuttle. The hotel did finally provide transport.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quality location for a short break. Fabulous grounds with plenty of good walks, evening meals and breakfast were top quality as were the staff .
Cons: No negatives whatsoever
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very hospitable. Room was amazing and exceptionally clean. The food was great (breakfast more so than dinner). Also I was proposed to here so I'm a little biased
Cons: Not a lot to do around the castle other than golf and trails.

Pros: They are located a short walking distance from the Waterford Chrystal showroom and factory tour location. Only street parking was available which was easier to find and use than we expected.
Cons: We ordered breakfast when we made our reservation, but Avondale was unable to provide it. We were not charged for it. We met the manager when we arrived. He was a little short with us. We did not see him again for the remainder of our stay.

Pros: This is great value for money with a very good location close to lots of sights and restaurants.

Pros: Beautiful setting, extra large room for 2 night stay! Had the usual bed throw comforter that is the going thing in hotel stays but came with the common sense approach of providing blankets also since 90 % of the time, the bed comforters are way over the top and much too hot! Breakfast also was great and owners very friendly and helpful! You'll like it!

Pros: This hotel is right on the water, with excellent views, and a nice sized room. Close to the center of town, but far enough away that it's peaceful at night. The restaurant and bar downstairs had great food with reasonable prices, and the staff was great.
Cons: The walls were a little thin (I could hear my neighbor snoring), and the mattress was a little worn out for my taste. The staff also forgot to mention that I had to insert my room key into a wall outlet to turn the electricity on. All very minor though.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, large bathroom space, very clean
Cons: Right in the heart of town -walking distance to everything I wanted to see
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The bar menu and the food we were served.
Cons: The noisiest hotel I've ever been in! The noise level was unacceptable at night, you could hear every word of the songs being played at the wedding downstairs (a wedding we were not made aware of before our stay). Along with that, the street noise was so loud that you might as well be sitting out on it! The leisure centre leaves much to be desired! The gym is tiny!! Two members of male staff were friendly and helpful however one female member was quite rude and unsure about whether you had to book the restaurant in advance or not. The menu we were handed in the restaurant was a "graduation set menu". No choice... We left and ate in the bar. I cannot fault the bar menu or food, loads to choose from and good quality food. One of the waiting staff, a female, was a bit too friendly though, throwing "love, hun etc" at my boyfriend like the words were going out of fashion... It was just a bit much and unnecessary... We're a young couple who just wanted to relax together for the weekend. We're both easy going and would never complain just for the sake of complaint. But unfortunately neither of us enjoyed our experience at this hotel.

7.1 Good
Pros: The front desk lady (sorry I didn't get her name) was super friendly and helpful. This was our first night in Ireland after a really long travel day so it was nice to have someone friendly greet us. The restaurant dinner was just ok but we were too tired to try to find someplace else.

Pros: Location was perfectly situated and food was lovely in the lounge and restaurant. Plenty of parking available around the hotel.
Cons: We stayed here late October with our 1 Year Old Daughter. The Hotel looked lovely, the woman on the reception was inviting and when we got to our room the heating was on and all was good. .......Until about 8 or 9 PM when the heating went off. We thought nothing of it but when it started getting colder we tried to higher up the thermostat to no avail. It got so cold so quick and stayed cold the whole night until about 8am when the heating came back on. We visited reception the following morning and complained that our room was cold and they simply explained that the heating is on a timer and it goes off every night. They said if we had of informed them we were cold they would of provided us with a plug in heater. I feel they should of informed us when we checked in that the heating goes off at night......other than this our stay was pleasant.

Pros: Bernard stayed in the hotel and has informed us in Core that the parking is very poor, he had to park a kilometre away from the hotel. That is the only downfall about the hotel. Improve on the parking facilities.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed one night at the Fitzwilton. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very helpful and our room was great. Unfortunately, the one night we stayed there, the restaurant was not open, but there were lots of great restaurants within walking distance. We definitely plan on coming back to Waterford and when we do, we'll probably stay at the Fitzwilton again.
Cons: The parking was pretty rough. I circled through the "parking garage" three times before I finally realized that I was just going to have to cram my car into a space. Glad I got there when I did, because if we had showed up much later, we would have been out of luck.
9.6 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I didn't get breakfast, I would of liked if you could get a takeaway breakfast if you miss breakfast. That was the only downfall, I knew room service was £5 but I forgot to sign up for room service.
Cons: Nothing really everything was spot on. The view was ok, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was nice. Could be a little cheaper, maybe student rates would be ideal.
