Fantastic location. Fits well with the flair of Washington. The hotel is also visited by many business guests from the Washington area. Very central. Everything important is within walking distance. Very special: Teatime in the lobby with harp music, mainly used by the ladies and daughters from the upper class. The breakfast was in a cafe directly next door with nice staff and a typical buffet offer.
However, the breakfast prices were unreasonably high, probably because many business visitors also had breakfast there. For Europeans it took getting used to the fact that the air conditioner blew one's neck even in December at low temperatures. The cocktail selection in the hotel bar was very modest, as were the cocktails themselves. Unfortunately, the rooms are not well soundproofed. You can hear every sound from the corridor or from neighbouring rooms, which is due to badly closing doors. This is unworthy for a hotel of this price category and reputation.

We liked the lobby and the bathroom tiles/golden touch.
First, we were given a room with the TV on the right side of the bed (which means you can't watch TV) and the Air conditioning compressors were right by the window on the third floor where there is a roof right outside the window and made so much noise. Then when I complained they gave us another room on the 5th floor, but the TV had no internet (which means you can watch only cable channels) and the sheets were the complete opposite of soft, they scratch your skin as if they bought them from some cheap discounted place. The bathroom had hair on the sink. Not to forget this is a 5 stars hotel, we usually stay at cheaper places with fewer stars and way better experience, we live in DC, it's just we wanted to try the WILLARD.!

Service is excellent - everyone is so nice and helpful. Staying with the Presidential Pardoned Turkeys was a bonus HAHA. Hotel is an updated classic!!!
Cafe staff was rude on last day. Our bathtub backed up every night.

It's hard to say: the lobby is stupendous, but the staff were what really got my attention. Exquisite service and manners. The location is amazing. My room was small, but excellent.
not one thing.
