There was not a ton to like. The only thing would have been the woman who checked us in and accommodated us very early in the morning was amazing! She was always sweet and willing to help. (She was the one who worked the overnight shift I believe). The A/C was good and the showers were nice and warm! The hotel was in a central-ish location being next to the big ADO bus terminal and only a 10 minute drive to the central zone area. I think if you are really strapped for cash you can stay here, but if you have a little flexibility to stay somewhere else, I would.
We understood that this hotel was a two star so we weren't expecting much, but honestly it was far below what we had imagined. The majority of the staff we encountered were either rude or just not helpful. In fact, we were standing right outside the hotel trying to figure out where to go and one of the woman staff was mopping and kind of threw the water in our direction which soaked the bottom of my dress. I don't know if it was an accident or not, but her expression afterwards made me think it wasn't. The room in general did look like the pictures online, but man was everything dirty. The sheets were stained, the under part of the sink was filthy (like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time) and overall it was not clean.
We had a spacious room with airco and big bathroom. Very clean. Fast wifi internet.
No kitchen service but at least free coffee at the counter desk instead. Quite a distance from the sea shore but not that far from main bus terminal.
Room was very basic and very comfortable :-) The male proprietor speaks some English, his wife cannot simplify her Spanish, his mother(-in-law) is very sweet and helpful. Decent location, not too far from the bus station.
View from my room? Do you mean the large echoing hallway? The cleaning ladies should spend some time looking up from their work: there was an empty beer can and a used packet of condoms on a high shelf you need to be 185 cm tall to see.
Great staff. I arrived past midnight with no local currency. They don't accept anything but local currency and the bill has to be settled before check-in. The clerk (against her boss' clear instructions) decided to use common sense and accept a deposit in foreign currency until I cleared the bill next morning. I checked in and slept well. Thank you clerk!
The boss doesn't know how to use common sense in uncommon situations.
