The only thing that I liked about the hotel is the location. The location is convenient.
The staff behind the desk can be a little more friendly and outgoing. I felt I was under the care of nurse Ratched. Didn't like that they could not exchange my money from dollars to pesos. I didn't like to see that the next day I noticed a customer change their currency. Every time I asked they said that they couldn't. I felt unwelcome.
The rooms were clean and the gym and pool was good.
Staff is not doing anything to help you. We arrived at the hotel 07:00 after taking a nightbus for 8 hours. When we arrive the man in the reception says we dont have a booking, after showing our confirmation he finally lets us put our bags in the luggage room. When we asked for the wifi password to find somewhere we could have breakfast he said we can have the wifi password at 15:00 when we check in. We did not feel welcome at all! Every other time we asked the people in the reception for help we got short answers and it seemed like no one wanted to help us. Even the people in the hotel restaurant were rude!
This hotel is really good quality for money. Cheap, in the city center, clean. Provides towels and shampoo. Has a parking for free. Beds were big and comfortable and as two women travelling alone we felt very safe. Room has tv and airconditionning and was really big.
A bit old and rusty. Poor aound isolation.
Price and location
The hotel building itself -- the interior, that is -- was quite beautiful. The rooms were adequate. I also loved being able to walk to the Malecon and the Zócalo.
I did think that the hotel should have offered the small bottle of water for free, rather than charging you if you used it. If the city's water system was totally safe, then I wouldn't mind, but as a foreign tourist not used to the water, it was not wise to drink it. I also thought they might have included a hairdryer -- or at least had a sign saying "If you want a hair-dryer, come down to the desk and sign one out." I really don't know if I am being fair because I don't really know how much to expect of a budget hotel.
