Night time too noise start from 4am, cannot sleep
I really like the staffs and location.
The build is really old an the doors are really noise.
The location was great as the main down town attraction and gas town were about 10-15 minutes walk. Also the sky train station was only 5 minutes. The staff were quite helpful, the cost was reasonable as Vancouver is very expensive.
This place is more of a hostel than a hotel. The room was quite small and basic and the bed was not particularly comfortable. The shower and toilet were also on the small side.
The location is very good, near everything. The staff is very friendly and the accommodations are very clean. The bathrooms are shared, but also, very very clean. To access the building you just need to push in a door code, which helps a lot. They have more than one type of bedroom. Depending on your situation, I suggest you pick up a semi or a private one.
The only small problem is the noise coming from the streets. Also, there are a lot of activities near even late at night, so if you are a light sleeper, perhaps you need to bring some earmuffs for sleeping. Of course, this is not the hostel fault, but yet, a negative point.
Toilet and shower stalls are individual and gender inclusive. Although there was no mini-fridge in the room, a large communal fridge was provided, along with materials to label foods. The location is great: close to the central library as well as Granville and VCC stations.
There is little sound insulation between rooms. Kitchen sink and bathroom sink are combined into one, which is somewhat unhygenic. Unfortunately there are no co-ed dorms.
