Great location
Inconsistent
The staff was very nice and kind. When I got to the hotel I registered my car for parking. But when I was leaving after paying for parking I found a parking ticket. I brought the ticket straight to one of the managers, ( the one that had checked me out) he tuck the ticket and insured me that he would handle and and to go ahead and enjoy the rest of my day. Every time I encountered and of the staff they were very nice
The quality of my room was lacking. Parts of the carpet was torn, one of the drawers under the tv was smaller than the others and didn’t fit it’s space, and in the bathroom there was rusty water stains on the tub and the wall paper was marked up and peeling in places. When I first got to my room I was looking around and noticed that the overall look of the room was outdated ( not a huge deal). And when I checked the fridge there was a grocery bag with partly empty bottled drinks. Seemed strange that those would be left, by the cleaning staff. Side note - the shower nozzle was a little confusing to use not sure if its the best option for a hotel. I went to my friends room befor we went to dinner and noticed that their room was updated and well maintained, made me feel like the hotel was inconsistent. The price seemed a little high compared to neighboring hotels for the quality of my room compared to the ones in the other hotels I have Stayed at in that area.
Extras
It's really ridiculous that hotels that are as old as this still chargec$20 a night for parking. It's just another way for the owner to pad the bill.
Rooms were noisy and small. Room upkeep was limited.
Very nice overall, would recommend...
the central location was very nice, the suite was comfortable, with all the niceties that one would expect, very nice staff, efficient, and responsive... quite.. great view...
elevators were slow and shook, the sliding door slid off the rail,, the pool was not open.. the TV's were difficult to use....
Great value. Nice view. Proximity to shopping and restaurants. Secured parking. Full suite amenities.
Dirty carpet, elevators under maintenance
central location
silverfish in our room
The location met my needs...no need to use taxis. the staff is superb. Beautiful lobby. Suites so comfortable and homey, while setup would also accommodate te business traveler as well.
Rooms are well equiped and personnel is good. I cancelled 1 night at the last minute because of the delay of my flight, they did it free, that's really nice !
noice isn't totally hermetical with ouside.
This hotel was located in an area of Vancouver which we like to visist, It has a slight european flaver and is close to Stanley park with great walking areas. Also liked its quiet location and great city view.
convenience of location, did not like the silver fish(bugs) or the lack of response from the front desk.
The kindness and generosity of the hotel management and staff were really appreciated. They upgraded our room to the Gentry (because it was our honeymoon), and made our stay memorable. I think i will never forget this experience and our time in Vancouver, thanks to Sandman Suites.
