Good location for visiting the Alstadt. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. Did not eat in the restaurant for dinner but it was well visited the evening we stayed and the food smelled delicious.
Photos on site misleading. Booked a double room in accordance to the photos and got a bed up against the wall, mattress had us rolling into the middle, mattress 1.4 meters wide and 10 cm thick. Mattress support cracked and squeaked. Not as advertised. Building is old of course given the part of the city but is not maintained as well as it could be - graffetti on the outside and entrance to the hotel confusing as no front desk. Felt a little uncomfortable in the neighbourhood at first.
I REALLY DO NOT LIKE MUCH THIS PLACE
No reception. No staff at all. No clear instructions to get access. Any instructions in German. For non Germans an International mobile call required to gain access. Beds, cheap uncomfortable, springs sticking out. Pillows a disgrace. Breakfast cheap ingredients. Very Loud Nightclub opposite till 4:00 am. Stinking bins by garage. All common areas dirty. The calculated score of 2.5 is a joke - 0 is more like it.
We really liked the staff at the hotel, especially Dolores who was extremely friendly and helpful. She made us feel like we were visiting a friend. The breakfast was good, lots of items to choose from. We ate at the restaurant several times and the food and service were great.
We didn't sleep well because of the noise outside. The hotel is near a 24 hour bar and the patrons would be very loud outside and woke us up several times through out the night. The Wi-Fi is the free Germany Wi-Fi and it was terrible, it was extremely slow and signal strength on the third floor was terrible.
The location was alright and there is a beer garden attached (the room comes with earplugs too).
We had the small double room and the bed was unbelievably uncomfortable (it felt like an old futon). It was squeaky, hard, and uneven. We could hardly sleep! And there was no parking next to the hotel, despite having called in advance, and parking on the street is limited to an hour or two or expensive parking lots. Finally, the room was not clean according to German standards. Way overpriced, would not recommend.
