Car rental at Taupo Airport

When booking a Taupo Airport car hire, you need to be of legal age, which is 21 years. You must come with photographic identification, and you must also have a valid driving licence and a valid passport. Additionally, you’ll need a credit or debit card as a form of payment, but this will depend on the company because some prefer credit cards and not debit cards. You should also have an international driver’s licence, just in case.

You must be aware of the important rules of the road before leaving the airport. First, you should know that you must always drive on the left-hand side of the road. When turning, you should always give way to traffic that is not turning. You should also adhere to the rule of the speed limit while driving. In general, you can drive at 30 kph to 50 kph while in urban areas and 80 kph to 120 kph on highways, but you should always check for and follow the road signs. You can only overtake vehicles if the situation allows you to do so safely, and you should never cross a solid yellow line on your side of the centerline.
