Excellent location , walking distance to most things.
the carpet in one of the rooms desperately needs replacing
Near shopping malls, opera house
Location and old world charm.
Being put in a room above the pub with a child after being on a cruise we wanted a good night sleep and couldn’t due to the noise. It was like being at the bar. Very unhappy wouldn’t of booked if I’d known . And it wasn’t worth the money I paid seeing no one got any sleep. Very unimpressed with the night.
Perfect place to rest your head, expect small rooms but very comfortable, clean and neat. Shared facilities are close to all rooms and clean. I have stayed a few times and not run into other guests.
Some staff weren't super welcoming this time.
Room smelt musty, mattress Felt old and cheap, hot water tap on sink in room was broken, carpet old dirty and soiled, rubbish left on floor near bedside table, no reception staff bar staff were friendly but felt they were too busy to serve us. Building has old charm but needs a lick of paint new carpet and new beds... it’s all about the bed!! There was a loud humming noise that kept me awake and due to the smell on the room I had to open the window so the noise from the street added to my sleepless night. Breakfast room was quirky and offered a basic range of breakfast like bread and condiments tea coffee facilities and a range of cereals.. not quite like a buffet like in most hotels it’s a help yourself and serve yourself which suited me.. honestly the location was great but I wouldn’t stay agAin way over priced.. a BIG thank you to the lovely Asian cheff who cheerfully went a brought fresh bread as I couldn’t find any in the kitchen, I enquired with bar staff he then asked another female staff member who said they were waiting on an order but didn’t offer to go get bread. The cheff left the kitchen to help out which I was really happy about.. I saw a room right next to the breakfast area due to cleaners leaving the door open, I’ll admit that room appeared a lot nicer than the room we were in so perhaps not all rooms were as manky as ours.
