5.0 Okay
Pros: Very disappointed in the room for what we paid for it. We could have had a nicer, bigger more modern room in a hotel with facilites for the same money....rather than the "room in a pub" which it was. Food was just okay...and choice of breakfast poor. Sorry but we won't be back.
Cons: Paid extra for a "queen room" with a sea view. Yes it was a queen bed....but the room was so small and had dormer style window and we had to duck our heads to get round the bed! Bathroom was very tired and looked unclean because it needed updated. The resturant menu had a limited choice if you aren't a fish lover. The vegetables were very aldente and there were very few prawns in the dish my husband had. Breakfast was disappointing too. No choice of juice....only orange. Fresh fruit as described on the menu was a few rather withered looking prices in a bowl. 6 yogarts to choose from. I asked for flora or some kind of spread instead of butter....and was told it was butter only. My husband had a cooked breakfast which was very nice looking.

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: The room wasn't even in the Hotel ,it was a tiny attic up 3 flights of stairs in an apartment building next door . Pros: food was excellent cost of room was great value
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were great and friendly.

Pros: Stunning setting.

7.9 Good
Pros: Great location for getting ferry to Ireland - very helpful staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay, and we have already booked again. The property is a no frills, small chalet behind a pub. The pub only operates at weekends, so the premises are quiet. The chalets are set back from the road so traffic noise is minimal. The chalet had all that we needed including free parking, free wi-fi that worked well, tea/coffee making and a decent bathroom with piping hot water. The Cairnryan ferry terminals are just over 10 minutes drive away. The town is barely 5 minutes walk and has supermarkets and restaurants. The owner is very helpful and welcoming. Don't expect a palace, but the accommodation is ideal for people passing through the port.
Cons: Nothing negative to say. Not related to the accommodation, but if returning to Scotland on the late ferry, take note that there are no obvious late night filling stations between Stranraer and Dumfries, so top up before boarding the ferry.

Cons: It was freezing

Pros: A very well located hotel, with a sea view. Room was small but very functional, warm, clean and very comfortable. Staff were brilliant. The hotel also has an Indian restaurant within, which we used after a long journey. The food was exceptionally nice.. my compliments to the chef. Breakfast was included, and was a traditional Scottish breakfast. This took a while to prepare, but was an excellent breakfast. Hotel is dog friendly, which I found nice. Pros: There was an error and the hotel was actually fully booked. The owner was great and sorted us a room at another hotel, same price, right around the corner. Both owners very welcoming. Would stay again
